Good food, service, clean and always fresh. I even catered some pre-wedding brunch and they did a good job! When my friends visit from out of town, they do want to go to Crisp. I love their hazelnut mousse.

Very clean and fresh. Falafel was great. Wish the hot sauce was a little more authentic than Tabasco. But definitely worth a try.

Came here only because Carmel Haifa was closed today and we were craving falafel and shawarma. Ordered the African falafel sandwich with grilled chicken shawarma. It satisfied my hunger, but flavor could use improvement. The falafel was decent though. Boyfriend ordered the ‘authentic’ falafel platter but it didn’t taste very authentic to me. I’ve had my share of falafels and chicken shawarmas(including in the Middle East), and unfortunately this place didn’t the hit the spot. The hummus was bland as well as the white sauce that was provided. Probably wouldn’t come back here again unless this place was the only option.

Not really impressed I had the Israeli salad it was very fresh but really only tasted cucumbers; where was the mint and Israeli pickles? The falafel’s were dry and very chewy all I could really taste was the fryer oil. The whole-grain pita was delicious. The little cup of sauce for the falafel was thin and tasteless; I really didn’t understand what it was doing with the salad. I may return another time but I’m really not in any rush to do so they need to step it up and make it a little bit more exceptional because it was very pedestrian in flavor but I wish them the best.

After reading Unilocal reviews and looking at the menu, we were really looking forward to having a quick and casual dinner here. But be aware that the menu that pops up from Unilocal is NOT for the Denville NJ location. We chose this place so that my carnivore husband could have a burger(not available here) and I could have falafel. The falafel was good but I would recommend getting just falafel and tahini. I’m a bread lover but the pita was way too much bread for even me. Also the cucumber and tomato salad served in the pita made the entire sandwich cold and took away from its appeal. I ended up picking the falafel out and leaving everything else behind. My husband settled on a portabella burger but the cheese was not even melted; he ended up eating only a third of it. And the chocolate hazelnut mousse everyone raves about in reviews — not available at this location!

Food was excellent and an excellent value. Quality healthy food at a reasonable price. Best falafel in a long time.

I enjoy this restaurant. The food is of a consistently good quality and is reasonably priced. The falafel is very good and so is the pita. It is sometimes a little awkward to eat in there if there aren’t a lot of other people.

Meh. The service was great and the hummus was great but I feel like they were focused more on trendiness and not on authenticity. I see it as a Chipotle of Mediterranean food.

How can I describe crisp? It’s like fast food that might actually be good for you. It’s vegan & has great flavor! That’s why I’m not sure if it’s really healthy or not. A few days ago I ordered the Heartlander burger & I loved it! The texture was solid, but not crunchy. The tomato was complementary and didn’t taste like plastic. Some tofu/black bean burgers are usually hit or miss. This one was an absolute hit, I highly recommend this place. Though kinda a bummer they close pretty early.

Went there for lunch. It’s Mediterranean fast food. Purchased the Authentic bowl consisted of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes cucumber pickles, falafel, hummus and fluffy warm whole wheat pita. Surprising really really good. Only wish it was romain instead of iceberg lettuce but good non the less. Large portion on the salad. Will be going back for sure.

Good place, if you are in the mood for decent vegetarian fare. The food is really clean, fresh and healthy. The quantity isn’t too large and not too much variety to pick from. There Isn’t anything to Dislike here. Give this a shot.

Earlier today we were driving on I-80 and Pam remarked that she’d really like something for lunch with hummus. On a whim I asked Siri to find a restaurant that serves hummus and Siri said«I see a restaurant named Crisp. It is about 3 and a half miles from here. It has 4 and a half stars on Unilocal.» So we decided to take a detour and try it out. We were thrilled that we did. Pam had an «authentic falafel salad» and I had an «authentic falafel sandwich.» It was the best falafel I’ve had west of Tel Aviv. The salad ingredients were fresh and carefully prepared. While it was a bit of a drive(Siri forgot to tell me she was telling me the mileage as the crow flies!), it was well prepared, delicious, priced right and exactly what we wanted to eat. I’m sure we will be back.

Great little lunch spot that offers a fresh and unique product! My boyfriend and I came here for an early lunch on a Sunday. I ordered the authentic style falafel salad, and he got the Mexican style falafel sandwich. I got to choose extra toppings like corn and pickles, which weren’t standard with my sandwich. The ingredients were fresh, and the falafel was crisp and warm. My boyfriend liked the unique combo of ingredients on his sandwich, especially the crunchy tortilla chips. I liked the complimentary pita bread so much that I ordered a side of 8 oz. hummus to eat with it. My boyfriend also got the hazelnut mousse dessert, which he said was a great treat. I’d definitely come here again!

I’m not really sure what the hype is all about… I got lunch to go — ordered the hummus bowl with chicken, paid for the chicken… and got NO chicken! Wtf? The place wasn’t even busy. Annoying. Trying to understand what’s so great about crisp. Ok so they have fresh ingredients… but the falafel was eh and the pita was spongey. Honestly I could have picked up the same thing at trader joes for $ 4.99. Not impressed.

Great place for lunch! It was my first time here and I got the African salad. It was a large salad, definitely shareable between two small girls. I felt like there was a little too much corn, and I wish the sweet potatoes were actual potatoes instead of chips, but the flavor really hit the spot. The corn is in a garlic vinaigrette that’s really subtle and keeps you coming back for more. The chicken for $ 1.00 is definitely worth it. The peanut based sauce was so yummy and complemented all the ingredients really well. And the lettuce was super crisp. The falafel was fried very well(i think its better than mamouns), very crispy and the tahini sauce it came with was delicious, especially with the giant fluffy pita bread it came with. For about $ 10, its a really great value with lots of yummy food. Service was fast and the place was clean. Definitely my new lunch place!

Cheap, casual Mediterranean eatery with great vegetarian options. I came here with a group of vegetarians for lunch and we ordered a range of great options. I had the Africa salad, which had fresh romaine lettuce, a great deal of corn, delicious peanut habenero sauce, sweet potato chips, and five pieces of very fresh and flavorful falafel. There was perhaps too much corn, and I was expecting actual sweet potatoes instead of chips, but it was overall very filling and delicious. It came with a generous piece of pita that was fresh, warm, and soft. My fellow foodies had the Baja hummus bowl(a bowl lined with hummus, topped with corn, chips, and falafel) and the backyard burger(black bean Patty plus crispy onions plus chipotle sauce = win). The portions fit the price, especially when you factor in the Unilocal deal. The service was friendly and quick.

Not bad… If not for the not-so-friendly guy who’s always working when I visit, I’d give this place 4 stars. The falafel are crisp and pretty good but I’ve had better(hello, Mamoun’s). The portions are relatively generous considering the price so I like to share. The restaurant is clean and simple-looking with a decent amount of seating. I do have to commend this one woman who works there who meticulously assembles my hummus bowl every time. She never lets one wilty piece of lettuce touch the bowl and only picks out the crunchiest pieces. Thank you!

I don’t know what is the enthusiasm from this place. It’s not that it’s bad, but nothing here is extraordinary either. The place focuses on Falafel which I love, but tries to give it a twist. There are all sorts of around the world take on this Mediterranean dish, like African and Mexican that, at least in my view, miss the mark. Even their straight up Falafel dishes are not out of this world. But this place is definitely marginally enjoyable at a reasonable price. The location is clean with lots of healthy choices. Plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from and even some gluten free options. I would definitely go for Garbanzo if I had the choice, but this is a fair option.

Recommendations: Falafel Burger(falafel, lettuce, tomato, pickles, special sauce, american cheese) Food: I ordered a falafel burger. It has a nice pairing between warm falafel made from chickpeas and cooler sauce and veggies. The burgers are medium sized and there is a enough food to fill you up. The presentation of food is clean and comes pre-wrapped for easy handling. Alternative choices include pita flatbread and salads, which also look yummy. Service: Staff is friendly. Ambiance: The restaurant is new and clean and has bright colors which make for a friendly ambiance to eat. There are several tables to sit at and enjoy the food. Value: For less than $ 10, you can get a main course, waffle fries, and a beverage.
