I brought my bike here after having not ridden it for about 6 months due to an injury. It was in very bad need of a tuneup. I was told it would take about 4 days and would get a call when I was done. The next afternoon, to my surprise, I got a call saying it was ready. When I picked it up, they only charged me half what Buchika’s in Salem did for the tuneup. $ 40 bucks for brakes, tires and everything and it ran like new. It will be my go to for all my bike needs from now on. They were friendly and oh so wonderfully quick.

I agree with others, the sporting goods section is good for a small area, albeit expensive. They did have cheap fishing lures so I purchased some of those. The hardware section is bad though. Not the selection. But the fact that it’s pretty much a little Home Depot, with less stuff, in that the employees aren’t too bright, especially for the stigma a little hardware store has. They aren’t rude by any means, they just don’t know how to make keys, they page eachother and it takes forever for them to come or they don’t show up… the place is never busy and we waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge we needed keys. The cashiers actually asked us how much certain items were… which is their job. I live across the street from them, and have friends watch the apartment and I do house work maintenence, etc. I’ve made 3 sets of keys there and bought pet supplies and tools and things. So I’ve been more than a few times. They aren’t over priced or anything, they just aren’t any different than a Home Depot as far as customer service, but with less options.

The sporting goods section is great — their ski tuning/waxing prices are reasonable and the staff has always been courteous. The hardware section has been very hit or miss for me. The ladies running the checkout counter in Derry are either very friendly and courteous or complete mutes other than citing your order total. I have to say that lately they’ve been a bit better. I’ve never had any issues at the Londonderry location. I generally buy my paint elsewhere but was in a pinch and bought a gallon here recently(Benjamin Moore) — the paint department manager was friendly. Hardware prices seem to be on par with other Ace/True Value shops. I’ve not found any deals here on lumber and go elsewhere for that.
