Fleet Feet Sports- Des Peres

I was sad to have a bad experience at this particular Fleet Feet. I’ve been a loyal customer to the Fleet Feet in Fenton, but since that one moved, I decided to check out Des Peres.
When I walked in, I told the salesperson about my foot problems, and said that my current pair of shoes (that I was wearing) were perfect, and I’d like something similar. The salesperson responded loudly and rudely that they no longer carry these shoes because they are six years old. That is absolutely false. Yes, my shoes are old, but three years old, not six. The salesperson seemed to be adamant over this. Why does it even matter? Besides, I never said I needed the same shoes, just something similar.
The salesperson never watched how I walk, never checked my arches, never asked me how much I run, and never asked the type of running that I do. The salesperson then proceeded to have me try on stability shoes after I specifically said I wanted something lighter. After only three pairs (none of which felt right) the salesperson expected me to make a decision.
I was extremely flustered and said I needed to think about it and left. I searched my phone for other nearby running stores and was able to find one down the street where I found the perfect shoe and had excellent customer service. I will not be back to this Fleet Feet.

The lady who assisted me was genuinely concerned about my needs and helped me find the right shoe. She was very thorough, professional and efficient and I really like my new walking shoes.

I have been a part of their half marathon training program for two sessions now and have attended several of their classes/​workshops. Their staff have always been attentive and listen to my concerns and answer my questions, no matter how crazy they seem. I like that your purchases earn you rewards. I believe if you spend $ 150 in store, you get a $ 10 or $ 15 coupon. This doesn’t count for the training programs or classes but I buy my shoes here because of the rewards I earn.

The products offered by Fleet Feet are certainly of high quality, but it is the ability of the associates in the store to recommend the best options from the varied products. This has been true for products ranging from shoes and apparel, to hydration/​nutrition and gear. Every time I enter a Fleet Feet store in St. Louis, it has been my consistent experience — regardless of the location or the associate.

I was so pleased with my decision to stop into Fleet Feet. I am a beginning runner and Andy helped fit me with some really great shoes. I had started out running the first few times in some shoes that I had already and was really feeling it in my hip flexors and my shins. A friend recommended I stop in to Fleet Feet. I have not had a single ache or pain so far with the Brooks running shoes he sold me and I’m really enjoying my new running program. On a side note, I downloaded the app called Get Running and it has helped me to get started.

I stopped into this new Fleet Feet location after signing up for their half marathon training program through an opportunity at work. I decided before I put on the miles, I better get fitted for a new shoe. I’m certainly glad I did! I had previously gotten fitted for running shoes before getting pregnant and ended up needing way different shoes than I was currently using. My previous (and first) fitting was done at another local running store, and I didn’t know until given the star treatment at Fleet Feet that it left something to be desired. The staff at Fleet Feet was very attentive and knowledgeable in the subject area of running and walking, and I’ve found them to continuously be for many subsequent visits to the store.
This location also boasts a Training Center with many services detailed on their website, and their moveable product walls make the barrier between retail store and training center very fluid depending on the events being held at the time.
I particularly love Fleet Feet’s rewards program in which you earn rewards certificates based upon money spent in store.
