Crab House

I placed an order for a crab&shrimp meal and the all the way meal and when I picked it up and got back to my office it was the wrong order. I called back to ask if they could deliver the right order and they told me it would be a 10 dollar delivery fee. I asked if they could wave the fee for our inconvenience.
Then they said they would have to check with their manager who was not there. Wait… I SAID: THERE WAS NO MANAGER AT THE RESTAURANT.
HOW, Sway!!! If a problem arises, I don’t know, like SOMEONE GETTING THE WRONG ORDER AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, who’s going to remediate?
Anyway, after the male cashier was finished eye-​raping me, from the neck down, they said they will call their manager and give me a call back. 20 minutes went past and they still have not called back. You mean to tell me that the $ 10 delivery fee is worth MORE than the satisfaction of your customers? This is, (hands-​down) THEE worse customer service experience I’ve ever had.
Right now, I am on my way to take the food back and get my money back. Never again.

I’ve been here twice in 3 months. First time I had the Turkey neck dinner, turkey was tender, corn and potatoes okay. Second time, had garlic rib tips, tender, never had rib tips the size of a quarter before for $ 7.99, expensive for very small portion. Suicide Kool Aide good. The food is average and expensive.

I really enjoyed the food and appreciate their delivery option. The menu is kinda of pricey so I check their instagram page for specials. Ask for extra sauce on the side because the extra can be too overwhelming.

The wait staff is great and the interior is nice. But the food is only okay… I ordered the small grilled chicken dinner and the small grilled shrimp dinner. It was okay but there was just sooooo much butter and a layer of seasoned salt over everything. It was a bit much.

I’m ALWAYS satisfied when I dine here! Sometimes it can be a bit busy, which could prolong the service however it’s worth waiting for. The customer servicing is always just great and there’s always someone to check on you! I haven’t had everything on the menu but with what I’ve had thus far, I’m sure there isn’t one disappointing item they serve! I’m always a happy camper when leaving!

They are very prompt and address all complaints with urgency. This is a rare find in a «one size fits all world.»
I have had just about everything on the menu.
Turkey leg, chicken wings, crab, shrimp, chicken and even a rib tip (rarely consume pork) and it was all delicious.
You must try the suicide kool-​aid — Ridiculous!
Listen up! Don’t expect a maître d to escort you to your table but do expect phenomenal service and a meal served to your expectations!

As you walk in they greet you immediately! That was good. We decided to eat in. Each table had a TV. Ok but I go to talk with my friends. I guess that’s nice if you are alone. We had to ask for a lunch menu even though it was lunch time. We ordered the BBQ wings as a appetizer. But we got it off the lunch menu for $ 2 more it came with the signature potatoes, boiled egg and corn. The wing were delicious! The whole thing was delicious. We then ordered off the dinner menu. I got garlic ribs and shrimp. Lots of flavor. But I should’ve ordered 2 different lunches off the the lunch menu would’ve been cheaper.
They are very nice and everyone speaks. One of the owners sat down with us and chit chatted. That’s was nice he was also very personal with his regular customers.
They are a bit pricey but I would return for the wings. I think that they are very very good.

Where do I begin… lets start with the service. The service is as great as the food, I appreciate a polite, informative staff that smiles.
SMOKED Turkey LEG is MUST GET!!! If there is one thing you have to try it is this leg, yes the crab is phenomenal but oh my Allah that smoked, succulent fall off the bone turkey leg has me salivating right now.
I ordered the pasta with homemade alfredo, mm mmmm mmmmm. It came with a mountain of sauteed onions, bell peppers and mushrooms not to mention the CRAB, SHRIMP, grilled Chicken and Scallops. I ate this for 2 days.
The homemade strawberry cheesecake was so delicious. It is airy, light creamy whipped deliciousness. Next time I am getting the Oreo and Red Velvet (they were out).

Been here three times. The first time was amazing. The other times the food was good but something was cold. The entire meal seemed as if they left it sitting on a counter while they cooked everything else. Last time my side of Mac n cheese was cold. Good place. giving it one more try. I’m hoping it was a flop. I will be sending it back if the food isn’t as good as my first experience

The neighborhood is the reason why I probably won’t return. I just have not found a place for crabs. Food was good. This guy tried to sell me some bootlegged CDs (hood activity, but at least he’s working). Nothing further to say except… if you find another spot not in that area… go there.

The food is very tasty but … i will never go back. it was my first time i only called them cuz spudheadz was out of lamb. so i called them made an order didnt tell me the price till i got there .it was 36.00 for the dinner and it wasnt that much food i can eat else where for half that price and get bigger lamb with less fat on it .i cant eat all of spudheadz food at once i smashed crabhouse i could have went and got sumngood soul food for 20 bucks and have left overs. the price wouldnt been so bad if they gave more food. the charrged 5bucks for 4 lil shrimp they should have been jumbo atleast my lil meal was 36.00 bucks thats why she aint tell me on the phone lol never again …

The adventure started outside when we decided to circle the block because there were 2 pit bulls running loose with no owner in sight. It had nothing to do with the restaurant but be alert.
As I entered the establishment someone behind the bulletproof glass shouted, «Eating here or carry out?» Since my sister and I were dining in we were instructed towards the glass door straight down and and told to turn right. This is where the dining area is and it wasn’t bad. There was one other patron eating and they have a TV on the wall.
Our waitress was nice and quite courteous. She explained the menu and the process they use to smoke the chicken and ribs and went on to explain the soft drink choices, including the Kool-​Aid selection. Nice!!! My sister couldn’t resist.
I wanted some seafood but after listening to the waitress I had to try the Ribs and Chicken combo. My sister decided to get the same. I upgraded to a side of greens and she upgraded to both the greens and macaroni and cheese which was a dollar extra for each item.
Our meal arrived rather quickly. It was room temperature at best which was a bit scary and quite disappointing since we were eating pork. Although both the ribs and chicken had a good flavor I was still bothered that it wasn’t hot. (I know you are thinking I should’ve sent it back but I’m leery about doing that). The greens were bland but my sister’s Mac and cheese tasted good.
As I was finishing my meal I lifted up my bowl of greens from my plate and underneath the bowl on my plate was a long, black, wet hair. I immediately stopped chewing but my sister might have been more disgusted. She stopped eating too. I informed the waitress and she took my plate immediately.
She brought my bill and informed me I received a discount.
It was a measly $ 2.50. Our meals were $ 16.99 each before the upgrades. So yes this place is quite expensive for what you receive
They had a chance to rectify my issue but they blew it. They obviously didn’t care. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I LOVE the Alfredo with crab meat, shrimp, chicken and scallops. I usually get the «dump truck» or a variation of it. Best Alfredo in Detroit!

I had the potato alfredo with chicken and shrimp. When I took my order from the counter it weighed a good 3 ½ pounds. I ate through out the day and felt like a stuffed potato. It was definitely good eating but be prepared to put on a few pounds after eating from here.
I also had the smoked BBQ wings. Absolutely delicious.

Had a great experience. However, the food seemed like it took forever. I wasn’t a big fan of the interior or exterior look of the building. In my opinion they should consider relocating to a modern facility perhaps near downtown and spend the necessary funds on establishing the best «Crab House» in the D. I hate eating in shabby restaurants. I will be ordering carry-​out from this day forward. No complaints on the food. Turkey leg was AWESOME, crab legs were succulent, and koolaid was made just right.

Ordered chicken and crab Alfredo. The chicken had a good taste and good seasoning. The crab was like shredded through the pasta. However the Alfredo was completely tasteless. I did not enjoy the food overall. Service at Crab house was great, although parking sucked and I didn’t like having to park around the corner in such a rough area. I’m pretty sure I won’t return. My mother had a rib dinner and didn’t find it tasted well.

Oh No! I really hope the Crab House was just having a bad day when I ordered on Sunday. I called in and ordered a shrimp and chicken potato alfredo and a kool aid; a pretty standard order. When I go there to pick it up, it was ready, I paid and I left, eagerly awaiting my tasty treat. I get my meal home and take my first bite… and it tastes burnt. Maybe it was just one bad bite… I tried another… burnt.
I scrutinize every component of the dish to try and determine what the burnt flavor is coming from and I think it was the shrimp, but nonetheless, it tasted burnt and I couldn’t finish it. I was pretty unhappy because I really had a taste for this meal and it cost me over 15 dollars. For that much money spent on a carryout, I want it to be of the same high standard I have come to expect from the Crab House.
I have definitely not given up on the Crab House and I love the friendly service and amazing owner of the establishment… but I hope next time I order my favorite dish, it is prepared with the same care and attention I have come to expect from this great restaurant.

It was just okay. I ordered the pasta Alfredo 3 way with crab, chicken, & shrimp; the Mac & cheese, and a side salad. The pasta contained tiny salad sized shrimp, though well seasoned, I’m not used to eating tiny shrimp in cooked dishes. The mac& cheese was to peppered for my taste, but the side salad was very fresh. I was a little underwhelmed.

Don’t let the outside or size fool you. The customer service here is EXCELLENT! The food is EXCELLENT! Tucked in between a commercial strip of property on West Seven Mile Road may not be ideal for some business owners, but the Crab House gets plenty of traffic because the food is delicious… event during Construction Season in Detroit. One warning: if you order something fried, you will have to wait longer because they specialize in non-​fried foods. So that means if it’s baked, broiled, or grilled you will receive it promptly. Everything is seasoned well without being salty or needing salt. I had crab legs with potatoe and corn. I was surprised to find a deviled egg under my crab legs, but it is a lot tastier than you may think. I will return!
