keeps getting better every year. more and more brewers every year, more and more tasty beers. i’ve been to bunches of beer festivals and find the ones that MI brewers guild puts on are the best. there is always ample room to stand around and chat(unlike the royal oak farmers market) with friends and there is always gobs of ample beer to make your mouth water. they also seem to have the most special tappings that i have seen at any beer fest. make eastern market fall beer fest a part of your fall festivities! love, juston

Easily the BEST of the Detroit area beer festivals and my favorite of the Brewer’s Guild’s. The weather is usually perfect. The site is unique for a pre-festival romp and the grounds are dry as opposed to the Ypsi fest that can get pretty muddy on years when it rains around the time of the fest. It seems this festival is growing larger by the year taking over new portions of sheds. Well worth the price of admission!

Yo, this place is cold. Nice location in Shed 5 at Eastern Market, but be prepared to be outdoors for most of the time. It was easily 30 °F that night. $ 40 and lots of beer. It turns out Michigan beer festivals involve a lot of standing and feeling awkward if you don’t know a lot of people. The crowd here is LOADS more interesting and diverse than the one in Royal Oak.(Haters gonna hate!) Best discovery of the night: Plymouth Brewery’s Windmill Cookie. Homemade rootbeer mixed with … one of their ales. Straight up pseudo-dutch heaven! Bring friends. Bring a DD. Better yet, make the night last longer and hit up Grand Trunk Pub afterwards and get cozy. Woot Woot!
