Grandy’s Coney Island

Ok first this place is usually fast and cheap breakfast, nothing special. For the pice you get a decent size breakfast. Service is meh at best. The cook varies, as in sometimes he gets it right other times not so much. I.e. Sometimes he over cooks and other times he under cooks. Hit and miss. I’ve been there earlier for breakfast with different cook and his cooking is on point, fine chopped hash browns buttery and soft inside, well cooked eggs, nice sunny side with cooked egg whites. Nice job, the breakfast guy is horrible, over cooked sausage, undercooked hash browns, eggs undercooked, toast burnt, but like I said fast and cheap. Staff is hit or miss too, there is one girl there in the morning that must have ADHD, you can’t get out two words without her going huh, and then you have to repeat your order, or she’ll tell you to hold so she can help someone in store help me first I’m on the phone and you are already dealing with me. Prices change every 6 months or so, so pay attention, usually not by much, but it throws you off if you are use to paying a certain amount. Second not the best neighborhood, sketchy at times, but never had an issue here. You do get some street type people, but mostly people just trying to get a meal. Can be busy at times calling ahead is best if you want in and out service.
For really cheap eats do the coney’s and chili cheese fries, filling and cheap, not the best, but it will fill you up. I usually do 3 coneys and chili cheese fries for like $ 5 flat out the door. Recommend for only the basics. Large menu of items, but I never trust a business with to many items on the menu, especially fast food.
Oh yeah one further note always check your food order before you leave. They don’t always get it right. But that hold true for most places

The breakfast specials are reasonably priced, the food was good. The .99 cent coffee is good.
I asked for well done hash browns, but got regular cooked hash browns. So I only gave three stars.
I would go back again.

If I could do 0 stars I would. Food looked like it was bought at the budget section of the grocery store and looked nothing like the pictures on the wall. The rest of the family seemed fine but I was up in the middle of the night and came close to throwing up. Just keep driving.

I tried the Johnny Burger a burger withe works plus corned beef. Epic failure if you want the real deal go to Grandy Coney on E. Outer Dr and Sherwood. They call it the Mikey Burger!
