I’ve been in Michigan since 2008, I moved over here from New York(Shocking, I know!) and I’ve had pizza everywhere from everyone, Buddy’s, Jet’s, Happy’s, Pizza Papalis, Dominoes, Hungry Howies, Cottage Inn, Speedway, Subway, Cici’s, Belle Isle Pizza(BOO!), Little Caesars, Pizza Hut, and even Costco Pizza and believe me when I tell you this… The Pizza at Royal Barbecue is THEBESTPIZZAEVER!!! They didn’t even blink twice when I ordered a plain cheese pie(Michigan is obsessed with Pepperoni and give you a hard time if you order with no toppings.) The service is quick, the staff are friendly. This place rocks!!! Pizza to die for!!!

This was definitely one of my favorite places to order food from until I kept noticing their delivery driver kept trying to steal money from me. My job orders from this place all the time. When I say EVERYDAMNDAY, it’s everyday. I got fed up for the last time last night. My order totaled $ 12. I get to my jobs turn style and the little short delivery guy that drives the red car is there. I instantly get mad because he always tries this. He ask me what my total was, I told him I’m not sure but I already knew. My ticket on my order clearly said $ 12 in big black bold writing but he told me $ 15. I had to tell him I see the receipt with the price on it then he tried to act like he didn’t know. Again this has happened on multiple occasions. So I gave this man a $ 20 bill. He literally tried to only give me back $ 3. AGAINTHISHASHAPPENEDONMULTIPLEOCCASIONS. So then he acts like he has an attitude because I asked for my money. Now I ALWAYSTIPWHEN I ORDER! ATLEAST15%-20% but he definitely fucked it up for the last time. I’m never ordering from here again. I made a post about this on my jobs website and SOMANYPPL said they have the SAME PROBLEMWITHTHESAMEMAN. Fuck Royals.

Fried chicken is my favorite food and this was top notch. Coating was a little sweet kinda like chick fila. It took 20 minutes for them to make the chicken but I had nothing else to do so it was no big thing. 8 bucks for a half chicken worth of yum. Get on it!

One of the best carry out spots on the city. The biggest menu I’ve ever seen and everything I’ve had is amazing. The fried chicken might be the best around. Everything is fresh and tastes home made. Highly recommended if you’re in the area or even if you have to take a drive.

We have been ordering from here for lunch. They deliver to businesses only. This may be the best fried chicken I have ever ate. It is so tender and juicy it tastes more like broasted. Even the breast portion which is usually dry at most places, was succulent. I have also tried the calzone which was loaded with meat but little cheese and it broke open like a piñata and spilled out over my plate. They must have a problem with cheese here as I have also had the macaroni and cheese and the cheese was sparse there too. If they start adding more cheese I would give them 5 stars. For now, I will keep getting the best chicken in the Detroit area.

Probably one of the most overlooked places to eat or carry out from in the D. It’s located on Mt. Elliott at East Grand Blvd. just east of I-94. The menu is ridiculously large and they have just about everything you could want. Our preference is for the broasted chicken. It is cooked to order so it is guaranteed to be fresh. You actually better wait about 20 minutes after getting it because the nuclear core needs to cool down. You will NEVER get cold chicken. Pizza is good but vent your box when you pick it up so the crust doesn’t turn to bagel from the steam. The guys I work with actually prefer it with the chewy crust from the steam. The BBQ is done very well and from real wood smoke. Low and slow. The ribs and rib tips are some of the best around but I’m not crazy about the sauce. I get the them without sauce and just add my own at home. Sandwiches and burgers are enormous. Desserts aren’t bad. I like the red velvet cake or the sweet potato pie. Salads are also huge here. I’m not crazy about their dressing, so I just order the salad and no dressing. Portions run big on just about everything. The girls who work here are super busy so when it’s your turn to order, stop window shopping and tell them what you want. They hate that and so do the people waiting behind you. Generally, they are very nice though. Seriously, this place does some heavy volume so carry out times may vary. Expect the usual to be around 20 minutes. If you choose to eat in, and the dining room is very clean, you do not get table service. Order at the window, take a seat and wait for your food to be called. This place hops. They’re busy at lunch and all through dinner. Call ahead for your carry outs.

Clean interior, quick service, huge menu, decent prices. I ordered the chicken alfredo one day when in the neighborhood doing some photography work, and I gotta tell you, it was $ 22 with my drink and tip, but holy Jesus was my portion HUGE. Couldn’t even finish it… and that has happened to me only like 3x in my life LOL. Everything seemed fresh and clean, and service didn’t take long and was friendly. I’d go back! If you’ve never been here, here’s some advice: when you walk in, you’ll see your typical, fast-food style menu above where you order. That is NOT the whole menu! Look around, and you’ll see menus throughout the restaurant. Check one of those. I made this mistake and didn’t realize it ’til I ordered; I missed out on 9⁄10(yes, 90%; look at the Unilocal pictures and you’ll see their HUGEASSMENU!) of my food choices by not looking for the FULL menu.

We order for our office from here. They deliver to businesses. We’ve tried a few different things, and they are all pretty good. Burgers are huge, fries are like steak fries, though it is about $ 8 for hamburger and fries, you do need to cut it in half to make it easier to eat. Chicken tenders are big, and seemed like real chicken, imagine that! A 3 piece chicken tender dinner is less than a hamburger with fries, and it comes with 2 sides for $ 5.99. Pizza’s are pretty good too, could use some extra zing, like flavored crusts or something, but they are good.

I had the Chicken Wings today and they were excellent, as usual. The menu is extensive and everything I’ve tried over the last few years has been very good. I always order carry out and have had many an excellent lunch from Royal BBQ Pizza and hope to continue for a long time. 4 stars for carry out alone.

OK neighborhood restaurant with an extensive menu. fast take away when you call it in. don’t get the banana pudding because there are NO Banannas in it — only pudding and cookies. fish is good, so is chicken. pizza looks good and be warned bbq is oven baked then topped with bbq sauce. it is not bbq’d. the steak dinner is a great deal for dinner for two since it enough to share. their greens have smoked turkey and are fresh and delicious daily — highly recommended.
