It’s a dive bar for sure — I’m here at lunch on Saturday, so not sure how the night scene is different. I give this place 5 stars for the food — I’m eating the corned beef sandwich and it is the best, melt in your mouth, sand which I’ve ever eaten. The French fries were great, but a smudge heavy on the seasoning. Also ordered a Tito’s Vodka on the rocks, which was disappointingly poured in a plastic cup similar to what a dentist gives you to rinse after a cleaning. The pour itself wasn’t too generous, but it’s lunch time so not a big deal there. Food prices are amazing, drink prices are on par with downtown bars.

One star because beer was cold, and bartender was very friendly. I don’t like to leave negative, nasty remarks so this will be short. The stairs down to the bathrooms have some type of original carpeting made of squishy moss or mold, it’s up for discussion. The place is *funky*, not in a good way.

I agree, the place smells like fried food and old beer. I did not smell any sewage-y stink. The Bathtub Pub is definitely a dive. But if you don’t mind dives, you’ll like this place. I found the bartenders attentive, if a bit spacy, and the owner was friendly. We got our food to go and ate in the next-door Lafayette Community Garden. The food is delicious! One of our party of three got the ribs, another got the wings, and I got the corned beef. We all ordered fries, and we shared our meats. They were all yummy and the wings especially are wonderful.

Would leave less than 1 star if I could. Bartenders sit on counter and text and smoke cigarettes the whole time, and the place is just overall dirty! Don’t ever go here, ANYWHERE else will be better.

I… uh. …well…I went here. Just was convenient. The bartender was uninterested in us even though there were like 8 people on a Friday. She seemed out of it… like out of reality and hoping to leave soon to find another alternate reality if ya know what I mean. Got 2 beers just as the band was starting to play. They were really good. I mean really good. Too bad for the poor atmosphere or we would have stayed. Ventilation is horrible, stinks like fried food and so did I upon leaving. The manager or owner or someone did come up and greet us, which was nice. I will try again soon. I won’t forget it, that’s for sure.

OMG Don’t eat here!!! I have no idea how they’re passing a health code inspection. Their sewage backs up constantly. The smell when you get near the bathrooms(top of the steps) is so overwhelming I had to cover my mouth and nose while I used the bathroom and then got the hell out of there. Nobody in that place knows what the word sanitary means nor knows how to wash their hands. The bartenders are smoking weed out in the open and then have an attitude when you interupt them for a drink. I’ve been here about 7 times b/c I live nearby, in hopes that it’s improved(at least the bathrooms… I still would never eat there), but nope… Always a disappointment.

We walked in and heard«shut the door». A/c not working. 3 people smoking in a no smoking city. Smells like garbage. I’ll never be back. Gross.

Easily the best wings I’ve ever had. It’s only $ 8 for perfect wings and amazing fries. Good music and environment. I recommend this place to anyone downtown looking for cheap beer and good food ~ Y– Peezy

This is possibly the nastiest bar I have ever been in and I am not sure how the health dept. is allowing it to remain open. With that said grab a drink and walk outside to the AMAZING view of the Lafayette Gardens. That make this place worth visiting.

Pretty cool place. A work in progress. Just opened in April ’13. Bartender Laura was really nice and helpful.
