Bravo to this amazing Main Street anchor for Dexter! I was just browsing the shops in town with friends and discovered the storefront and came in because of the kitchen and toy displays. From the soda pop near the cash wrap (and those sugared jelly Chuckles candies), to the friendly and helpful staff, and selection, these folks offer more than a hardware store. It’s great to see independently owned hardware stores like Hackney … they remind us that shopping local is much more interesting and is also good for the local economy.

Sometimes there are a few businesses that define a small town. This is one of those businesses — its that good. You can find what you need here for your project, and the folks that work there, even the kids, seem to really know their stuff.

Hackney Hardware is *the* place to get your supplies in the Dexter area. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and they carry a great selection. If you are doing a project and need one specific screw (metric, too!), you will find it here. They have all the basics, some funky and quality extras, and the parking is free right outside the door. When I need hardware items, they are my first stop.

This is a cute old-​fashioned hardware store in lovely downtown Dexter. It has a lot of small town old-​fashioned charm, a decent selection, and good, knowledgeable service.
One really nice thing about shopping in downtown Dexter is that there’s lots of free public parking spots. You probably wouldn’t want to go out of your way to drive to Dexter if you don’t live nearby, but if you’re in town, check this ACE Hardware out.
