A year ago we just happened to discover Al’s, 100 miles from our home, in Northern VA. The hot subs were so memorable we just ordered the same as last year. Hot Meatball & Mozzorello Cheese Sub and & Sausage, pepper & onions w Mozzoreello Cheese Sub.Mmm. Ordering a sub on a Sunday is often risky as far as the roll is concerned. Not at Al’s. Absolutely delicous; and HUGE! No phony price increase here. This place doesn;t look like much but the food sure is good and priced right. American Waitresses that speak English were a real treat. See you guy’s again-soon. And don’t forget Brewsters Ice Cream stand, a football field away from Al’s for dessert.

I try to avoid Al’s because I have NEVER had a good experience. The only time I order Al’s is when I need delivery, since they are the only pizza place in Dillsburg to offer delivery. If your order is anything besides a cheese pizza, odds are they will get it wrong or something will go wrong. Today, I used the Al’s online ordering for delivery because I have no car to drive out. I waited two hours until I finally called to ask if they got my order – trying to give them the benefit of the doubt since I ordered before 11AM. Well, apparently the printer was jammed and they never received my order. What a wonderful reminder of why I don’t order from Als.

Was told by server to take any seat and she’d be right with me. Waited close to 10 minutes and not one employee stepped into the dining room while I was there. I picked up and left and will continue to drive by without stopping as I pass through every week. Pizza looked ok but service was poor. Maybe understaffed today but still no excuse.

Was looking for a place to eat close to Messiah College. Al’s was a solid OK. Dining room was mostly clean. Onion rings were tasteless. The cheese steak was short on flavor. The pizza was a bit doughy. Menu selection and service was good but it’s the food taste that makes the rating. Safe choice if needed but won’t be the highlight of your week.

Don’t care how good/not good the food is. They were open during a snow storm. Noms beat no noms every time.

The place is far from luxurious but the food was delicious. We tried pizza, calzone and eggplant parm. The calzone was huge, and the sandwich was on bread made from pizza dough so it had great texture and flavor.

Hey people & places change, and this place has changed for the better. They have great variety of pizza and beer, and pretty good prices, I must add. They’re upgrading the décor inside and making it a little more upscale and adult. That being said, it’s still a fine place to bring the kids and you can also get a pitcher of lager for about $ 7.

I just ordered from Al’s and am awaiting my delivery. I am not from around here originally, so their pizza fills a bit of a nostalgic gap for me. Their sauce does not have the level of sweetness that seems to be the de rigueur in this area. Nothing wrong with it, but it definitely seems to be a regional taste, and I have yet to develop the taste for it. I have ordered salads, appetizers, pizza, calzone, boli, and other items from Al’s. I have found them all to be solid. I have not had any of their desserts or pasta dishes, and maybe that is something I can remedy in the quasi near future and update my review. I have been ordering from there(eat in, take out, and delivery) for about 5 years now. I have found them to be very consistent and solid. They even have a drive up window if you are not willing to go into the counter to pick up your food. They have beer and similar alcoholic beverages, and will sell to go. A standby favorite for me when I do not feel like sticking my face outside of my apartment. Al’s is easy to access from 15, and is located on Tristan Drive near the Rutters, They have a large dining area with a buffet, but I have not experienced that yet. Parking is adequate, and it is a good place to meet friends, take the kids, et al.

I love Al’s in Dillsburg though I don’t eat in they are the only place that delivers to us but I always receive my food piping hot and very good by very friendly, polite drivers. Also so convenient to be able to order on line and pay by cash or credit! Thanks Al’s of Dillsburg

They have a great beer selection so I stop by there and pick up a random microbrew 6 pack from time to time. I haven’t eatner here much because after a few strombolis and a bad pizza I kind of figured it wasn’t going to get much better. It seems like they are trying to save money on dough and they make their bolis and pizzas too thin. The pizza was like eating sauce and cheese on wet paper.
