La Taqueria Limon

Can’t believe this place is still open. Food is sporadic. I’ve had fajitas and it looks different each time. They forget this and forget that. Call to place a to go order the phone gets set on the counter for 10 mins. I hang up to call back to it being busy. Then try again to get put back on hold. They’re semi over priced anyways. The menu prices don’t match what you get charged. If they were in Brentwood this place would die off. One of the perks for being in D Bay not much else to choose. For me that’s the last time. I’ll drive for better food.

We use to come in here 2 – 3 times a week. Until 2 of the employees started talking shit about us in Spanish. They didn’t like us because we regularly had to return our food since we always asked for NO ONIONS & they would repeatedly put them in. It’s now been about a year since I stepped foot in here. And low & behold my burrito has ONIONS in it after telling them MORE THAN 3 TIMES NO ONIONS. We will NOT be back. I’ll be sticking to the taqueria in Byron or my all time favorite COCINA MEDINA in Antioch!

Just picked up a carne asada super burrito & an order of rice and beans & All of my food tasted like fish, even the chips. I couldn’t even eat any of the food because it tasted so disgusting.
I called to let them know and all they said was sorry. I was expecting them to offer me a refund or store credit to make it right, but all I got was disgusting food and now I’m out $ 20. Worst food and customer service ever.

I’m so sick and tired of this place I rather go to Lacosta and Brentwood and it’s not much better but at least they are consistent and friendly… not only did I find a rather large bug inside of my food but they totally screwed up my whole order and it was for my daughter who has food allergies and I am just so thankful that she didn’t take a bite of the food before we had looked at it… so I called them to let them know that they messed up my order and that we found a bug inside of the food and all they could tell me was that they knew nothing about any bugs I can’t believe it I will never go back there again

They get my order wrong every time. I ask for no onions and they pile them on. When I get enchiladas seems like the tortilla wasn’t even heated up and cheese is never melted. Let’s just say I’ve gone a few times hoping it would change but I’ve been let down with the same problems every time.

As a customer and as an employee it is understood that customer service goes a long way. Right? Well… I went in two days ago with a friend to get a cup of horchata, just horchata, no food. Again, no greeting from the lady who runs the cash register. I greeted her and asked for a medium horchata. She didn’t say anything. Literally, the only thing she mumbled out was the price of the horchata, took my credit card, swiped, handed it back to me and that’s it. No bye. No thank you. Nothing. Completely felt like a nuisance. I get it, we all have bad days but this has happened almost every time I’ve went in there. I’m not looking for a conversation just smile and say thank you to your paying customers. I won’t be coming back here anymore. As much as I enjoy their taco salad and nachos its just not worth the lame service.

I’m sorry I’m unsure how to respond to you directly. Thank you for your concerns in the response. But I noticed your responses to many others who have mentioned a similar concern. I appreciate someone reviewing the posts and commenting but it’s a trend that might need more investigating in the quality of meat that you might be using.
The chicken for my wife and the carve asada for me is where we have seen a higher then Normal
Amount of gristle.

The quesadillas de camarón are great! The asada was okay. When we tried it the meat it had a bunch of grissle.

I eat here every week !!! The cook knows exactly what my husband and I order lol !!! Love the chicken and the carne asada… And the mango salsa they have is delish !!!

This is our go to Mexican food. Great food, quick, close by. Ceviche is great, it not on the menu so just ask for it. Not much seating so we take out most the time.

Ordered the carnitas super nachos. Chips where stale and the carnitas are over salted.

We used to adore this place! Right around the corner and always friendly service. The last few times though my wife and I both had digestive issues so it seems they’ve changed something. We gave it «one more chance» and had the same problems. Hopefully they’ll go back to the old recipes soon, but until then we’re going to have to pass…

The food was OK at best. I had the carne asada burrito which met my low burrito standards and my wife had the flavorless Carnitas fajitas. We tried to order some aguas frescas as the hand written sign invited us to do but apparently they were out of every flavor. The ice machine was also out of ice and I just overheard that they just a ran out of steak, at 8pm…
The service is horrible. The carnitas came out 5 minutes before the tortillas that we had to ask for to get. My burrito had been given to another guest so they had to make me another. The lady at the register was talking to the cook about us in Spanish as I didn’t understand (I’m fluent). She also only worked the register while the cook delivered the meals. While I’m writing this there is a guest picking up the 2 missing tacos from their takeout order.

Forget fancy pants taco joints in SF. The tacos and burritos here are as good and authentic as you’ll find for twice the price in the city. Friends brought us here after s day of wake boarding. Starved and thirsty and they did not disappoint here.

20 mins still no food. This is the longest I’ve ever waited. And she’s not even cooking anything. Obviously a new cook. Also they stopped cooking the grilled onions on Tuesdays because they’re so busy. That’s a bummer I love those. I guess I’ll have to come in one of the other six days a week the three stars was for the wait but the girl at the register made up for it by apologizing. Still the best dollar tacos in town on Tuesdays. See you next Tuesday
Update: I always come in around 130 pm love your restaurant. always a friendly staff and the food is good. Just wish you would do the onions on Tuesdays also. No real exclamation has been given either time that I’ve asked except for we’re too busy on Tuesdays and they cost too much. But I must tell you to drive me to your restaurant. I think the issue last week why it was so slow is only one order at a time was being mad instead of making two to three orders at a time. Being an old line cook I know this is how you get through your tickets faster and your kitchen doesn’t get backed up. Looking forward to another happy Tuesday see you then. And I’m changing my review from 3 stars back 25 for your prompt reply and looking into the matter thanks a lot guys have a great day.

Best Mango salsa in the world! I get a side order of beans & Cheese, Rice, and Flower Tortillas and love it! Always fast service! and local!

First things first… thanks Denise F of Discovery Bay for making me aware of this small mom-​and-​pop Taqueria.
Going west on highway 4 from Stockton this little restaurant is in the far right-​hand corner of the shopping center just passed the main entrance to Discovery Bay. Good food. I will return.
I ordered a carne asada torta, crispy chicken tacos and fish tacos on the small corn tortillas.
I used a Unilocal deal… $ 15 for $ 20 worth of food. My total came to $ 19.93 so I did not have to pay any additional. And you get a free soda with your Unilocal check in! Everything was good. Up to and including the soda fountain Coke! Those of you that enjoy soda know what I mean. I especially enjoyed and would order again the torta and the crispy chicken tacos. Two things make their tortes outstanding and that is the bread that they put it on and that they chop the meat. Likewise with the chicken taco… the taco shell was crispy and unique. Not like an ordinary taco shell. And they also chop the chicken so instead of taking one bite and dragging a whole chunk of chicken out of the taco, the meat is disbursed throughout.
The only reason for 4 ½ instead of 5 stars is the fish could’ve been bigger in the fish taco. But they might cut back on the size on taco Tuesday since they are only $ 1.50. Next time if I want fish tacos I would go to Rubio’s on taco Tuesday. The chips… I would guess they make them in house. They were better than ordinary and fresh. This place is a 30 minute drive out highway 4 from Stockton which would make for a great summer evening outing.

I was so excited to go here after seeing the great reviews and pictures but the excitement didn’t last.
We went last night at 6:15. As we waited to order I noticed how messy the restaurant was. Now, I’m assuming there was a rush and they were short staffed but still you need to keep everything clean. Plates were piled on the garbage, every table needed to be wiped down, there were no napkins at our table. The salsa bar needed refreshing. There was a tray of cold grilled veggies just sitting by the salsa. Were people supposed to eat those?
Now the food looked great except the first bite of my burrito I had to spit out because it was all fat. I only ate a few more bites and I was done. Next time we want Mexican food we will stick with La Costa or Jalisco’s.

Came here over the 4^th of July weekend after a day out on the water wakesurfing and drinking with friends. We were all starving and my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach.
I ended up ordering the cheese enchiladas dinner plate which came with rice and beans that I ended up devouring! It was seriously so good. We also grabbed a couple coronas. My friend ordered a wet super burrito which was ginormous! I also madhe buy the nacho fries which ended up being a huge portion we barely had room for any and had to take them with us. My boyfriend ordered a super burrito as well.
Solid Mexican food that was fast, friendly, and will definitely fill you up after a long day of boating.

After hearing about how good the food was here, I had to go in & try it for myself!
So I walked in & was greeted by the nice lady behind the cash register, I checked out the menu for a minute, saw that they had fish tacos & I was all over it! I ordered the 3 tacos with no cheese & no sour cream. With a side order of rice, beans & guacamole. The tacos came out with 5min, and I was outta there!
The tacos are really good, the fish in them is like a long fish stick, lightly breaded & crispy, the tacos come open faced with plenty of lettuce & salsa. Of course, I’m all fancy. So I put guacamole on them too. They taste great! By describing them as great, that means that they’re so good, that I’m pretty sure I’ll be craving these again soon!
Good job to the employees for great food & awesome service!
Super convenient location also. Anyone heading to the marina for a day out on the water should take their order to go!
PS. The rice & beans are also amaaaaaaazing! The salsa bar is also great too, love the verde salsa the best! I put it all over my tacos!
