Loved it. From out of town and wanted to try some local spots and were so happy to find Flynnies on Unilocal.I ordered the 609 Melt and everyone in family had a bite and agreed I made the best order choice for lunch — delicious!

We come to a campground near Dixon, IL1−2x per year for a week at a time. We only leave the campground to eat a couple of times during the week and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Flynnies Diner! Amazing food, quick service, and tastes like a home cooked meal! Courtney was great and we are definitely making this a tradition every time we are at the campground! Try the Good n Plenty with Over The Top Tots! We are looking forward to breakfast!

Outstanding perfection did I say the best comfort food in the area. Service was above and beyond and I’m glad I found this spot and wish it was closer to home. I had the open face roast turkey and my husband had the meatloaf and both were the best that we have ever had except for our mothers. The three berry pie was so delicious and the crust was flakey and light as a feather. They only serve till two so stop in and have a great homemade meal that will satisfy your tummy like Mom use to cook. Did I say they had outstanding service and so clean you could probably eat off the floors. I truly enjoyed all aspects of this restaurant and can’t say enough about it except their own advertisement holds true«Deliciously Home Style Cookin».

Traveling from Chicago to Des Moines and checked Unilocal for a breakfast spot and chose FLYNNIES! Quaint home cooking diner. We were welcomed with a warm cinnamon roll that melted in our mouths! We both ordered a «stacker» which was an oversized portion and delicious! Unlimited coffee and they fixed us each a cup to go since they knew we were traveling! Such warm hospitality! We were so happy we found Flynnies in the cute town of Dixon!

This place is a local favorite of ours. A great place for weekend breakfast and a weekday lunch. I have never had a bad meal here. There stackers are great for breakfast and there variations of a grilled cheese are awesome for lunch. Friendly staff. It can get busy so come early.

Wow. Stopped on my way to see a client because the reviews were so strong. And they were very accurate. Great food and great service. I would have never found this gem without Unilocal! I had a burger and sweet potato fries(big splurge calorie-wise, but worth it). The fries were thick and the best I’ve ever had. Seriously.

Flynnies Diner is the quintessential small town diner with excellent homemade food, huge portions, great atmosphere and a friendly and attentive staff. I consider it to be the best family sit down restaurant in dixon and the surrounding area.

My wife and I really enjoy this place is a great place to get good food and their sweet potato french fries are amazing… We loved this place back in the day when it was nothing more than a little Conestoga wagon parked at the super 8 in a trailer. It’s no question that grew out of that little location into a new restaurant like this. If you like pork tenderloins make sure you get the pork tenderloin here its my favorite.

Flynnie’s is great. I have yet to be disappointed. I appreciate that everything is freshly prepared and cooked. The staff is friendly and tries to do their best to get your food to you quickly even when the place is packed.

When tough men stand watch at the gate while you sleep safe at night; when hard soldiers thwart the plans of those who seek to do you and your family harm, those soldiers need a place to call home and to be known. This is not for the reward or the recognition or even to make known what it is we do or have done. It is purely to be loved and appreciated as a family member and frequent customer. If any more of you tough, hard working men need a place to be, then choose Flynnies Diner over on Depot Ave, Dixon, IL. Thanks Mike & Cindy :)

On our way to Chicago & stopped at this cute place! Quaint smalltown atmosphere, nothing fancy, but WOW, the food. Pretty sure they make all their own breads, rolls, etc. Fresh fruit was amazingly good and in season with other fruits mixed in. Very busy on a Sunday morning, but worth the wait! Wide variety of breakfast entrees, especially omelet selections.

I cam to Flynnie’s on a whim. I live in Dixon and tend to frequent elsewhere for breakfast, but my husband gave me the morning to myself and I decided to try something new — and Unilocal was raving about this place. Normally, I wouldn’t expect to find a decent restaurant in this area of town, and was a bit skeptical on seeing the address. When I arrived at the outside, it looked like a hole in the wall and I almost turned around. But I decided to go in and give it a try. When I walked inside, I was shocked. The atmosphere was quaint and homey, full of customers and smiling waitstaff. I was greeted almost immediately on entrance by a waitress who, despite her full hands, gestured to a nearby booth. My waiter was at my table in a heartbeat to take my drink order. He asked if I had been here before, and I told him no and that I frankly wouldn’t have given this place a second thought without reading the reviews on Unilocal. He grinned and told me that he had a treat for me. Came back in a matter of minutes with my drink and a warm gooey cinnamon roll that was basically the size of the plate on which it rested — on the house! It was insanely delicious(and I purchased a second one to take home to my husband!) Their specials were written on the board, as well as the huge menu full of options. I opted for the Stuffed Biscuit — a warm, freshly baked open-faced biscuit sandwich topped with: hash-brown potatoes, cheese, bacon, drowned in their sausage gravy(possibly the best I’ve ever eaten other than my husband’s), and topped with the most perfectly diner-poached egg. After eating the entire cinnamon roll(oops…), I wasn’t able to finish my enormous and heavenly plate of breakfast, but I did my best. The meal was incredibly reasonable in price and HUGE in taste. There was little to no grease and everything was fresh and hadn’t been sitting around waiting to be ordered. It was clear that this place was frequented by many regulars, of which I fully intend on becoming one. I will be bringing my husband and daughter to Flynnie’s for breakfast tomorrow to celebrate the holiday weekend. If you live in Dixon, if you’re traveling through Dixon, if you’re just hunting for a great breakfast — GOTOFLYNNIE’S DINER! Immediately!

This restaurant sure lived up to the reviews! Courtney was an awesome waitress who was attentive, helpful all without being bothersome. The chicken noodle soup(which we got to sample since it was the first time we had been there) was better than any soup I’ve had before. Our food came quickly and did not disappoint. We split an order of Derrick’s fries and the tots… wish we had more of the French Fries, they were different and so flavorful. For our meals, I had the 609 Melt with the sweet potato fries and sweet butter(this is a must try), my husband had the Good & Plenty(which is a very fitting name for such a sandwich) and our friend’s son had the Texas Dude burger and couldn’t finish it(he’s a growing teenage boy if that gives you any context). I would highly recommend this gem of a diner to anyone who is within 20+ miles of this place, trust me it’s worth the drive.

Stopped with my son on the way to a baseball tournament in Omaha. It didn’t look like much from outside, but the food was delicious. The people were friendly and the place was packed for breakfast on Sunday morning. Biscuits and gravy were excellent. The waiter asked if it was our first time there. When we replied yes he said he had a treat for us and gave us a homemade cinnamon roll that was our of the best things I have ever eaten. A hidden hometown gem.

What a great stop this place is. Totally randomly we wandered into Flynnies looking for breakfast while on a holiday road trip. Seems breakfast was over and we got lunch menu’s. I ordered the«HIS» sized pork tenderloin sandwich. Girlfriend got the pulled pork. Both came with coleslaw & fries. BOTH were FANTASTIC. And the tenderloin was enormous. Perfect diner, great food. My chili at home is a bit better than theirs :-) Flynnies is darn good.
