When they say«grilled steak salad» what they really mean is «steak-ums over some iceburg lettuce with a bunch of fries and cheese». It was like a train wreck. We waited over an hour for 4 people to be served; 3 of us ordered salads and the other, a fish sandwich. I felt bad for the waitstaff but it was just sad. Our checks were processed incorrectly, and the waitress waited at our table while we filled out the tip line on the receipt. We would have been better off driving the 40 minutes we had left on our trip home and making our own dinner. It would have taken the same amount of time and tasted better.

Just off the interstate. Very convenient. It’s been there a while but it’s got character. Staff was super friendly and food was quick and good! My husband’s turkey sandwich had real turkey meat, not sliced deli lunchmeat!

How could anyone not love this place? Not high class but friendly folks and down to earth prices for homemade food. Try the pierogie stromboli! Bottles and cans and shots of booze here too!

Upon entering we had felt concerned that no one was there at a normal dinner time but also remember saying FIRST. It took 10 minutes until we were recognized and the lady who came out looked like she was on lithium. She had no smile and flat affect. She did not give any indication or social indication during our dialogue that she heard what we were ordering, just her eyes kept staring, taking notes. Finally, she said, «let me read the order back to you». It was just strange. 15 minutes later, she brought out water for all. 30 minutes later the dinners arrived ONEAT A TIME… my children were finished 10 minutes AFTER my wife’s dinner was brought out. No apology. NEVER did the lady ever come back to ask for more water or anything(which makes complete sense since knowing that every time she would ask the customer, the customers would complain). The food was HORRIBLE and my 5 year old son threw up when we got back to the hotel. I ordered the Cedar Sub which was sold as a 15″ sub. Well, it was more like 20 inches-which also makes sense since in the middle of PA, you would be hard pressed to find someone who knew how to use a ruler. I have NOCLUE what kind of meat they used but I seriously questioned WHO they had cut up for dinner. The meat was blood red underneath burnt cheese. Were those freeze dried mushrooms? It looks like they took frozen patties and threw cheese on it and put it under the broiler. Tomato ENDS were used on the sandwich and it seriously looked like the food we made in college after a drunk night. During our stay, several other families arrived. It was president’s day so I imagine many families were visiting PA, and were enjoying the ski weekend including ourselves. I managed to make small talk to a few other families and had warned them of the long wait before we got our food. They figured since it was a snow storm, they would give it a try. When their pizza came out, it was burnt and looked like a child made it in a Barbie Easy Bake oven. When the lady came back with the bill and asked if we wanted take-home boxes for the left overs(most of the meal) I quickly smiled and said, «No thanks». In retrospect, I should have told her yes. This way if we were found dead in our hotel room the next day, they could do a toxicity report and link it to Tall Cedars. I was conflicted upon writing this review because I try to give the benefit of the doubt but this restaurant should be shut down. It would not surprise me in the least if you told me the place was shut down after finding out Leatherface works in the kitchen. The place smelled like mildew, which I kick myself in the arse as I should have left. It is a serious hazard! I am guessing that since they are at the freeway exit and in the middle of nowhere, I imagine those who come are ONE timers and NATURALLY never come back. Seriously. RUN from this place, there is a steak house(Grady’s) 5 minutes from this place going east or drive into Ligonier for Genos Pizza!

We basked in the awfulness and will never forget the experience. It was too bad to walk away from.

Terrible food. Slow service. Dark and chilly inside. When we arrived, the dining room TV was blaring the Disney channel. We turned it off, only to receive the stink eye from the cranky waitress. Meanwhile, someone was sleeping in a booth nearby. We considered leaving but had high hopes that the place would fit the bill of «crummy but good». The quality of the food proved us wrong. Wish we’d followed our instincts and left this place before ordering.
