Best authentic Mexican food place in Douglas Co. They also have the regular Americanized food for those who don’t know real Mexican.

This our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. We moved to mableton this year and have not found anything that compares so we make the 20 – 30 minute drive to go here. The food and margaritas are delicious and you won’t find better prices anywhere. We highly recommend the steak quesadilla.

I liked this place. I’ve only been there once, but the food was good and the service was friendly. I’d give it five stars if it didn’t think it was kind of pricey for Douglasville.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. All of the servers were seated not far from me eating and drinking and not seeming to particularly careabout my table. The chips were burnt. The server forgot my drink. They got my order wrong. Then upon correcting it I literally watched them microwave my enchiladas and the server walk my plate straight to the table from the microwave. The rice was dry from being microwaved. The taco was super bland. We were never given more chips to even finish our queso. The server pretty much ignored is the whole time while she sat at the table with all ofthe other servers. It was just all around terrible. We will not be going back. I make better food at home

In desperate need of a good Mexican place, we tried Taquiera Jalisco today. The service was OK, and I mean OK. Our food came out missing a couple things, and our server was nowhere to be found. By the time she came to check on us, we were halfway done eating. The food is good, and that’s why this review gets 3 stars instead of 2. The steak is skirt steak, but the grilled chicken is on point. Service sucks. Food is good.

Just ate here again today and as always, we were not disappointed. We have ate here on numerous occasions and every time we always leave full and satisfied. The food is always well made, presented and delicious! The staff are always polite and friendly and this is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Douglasville.

Service was slow, constantly had to beg people to come help– it was pathetic; food was generic, boring and lacked flavor! PLUS… It took forever to get our food! We will NEVER be back!

I’ve lived in the area for 10 years now and finally decided to walk in this restaurant. What kept me away for so long? I don’t know, maybe the location, the dark tinted windows, nobody ever telling me about it? Whatever it was… BIGMISTAKE. This is now my GO-TO Mexican restaurant. I have to admit, I went to try the tacos, and I’ve been back many times and still haven’t tried anything but the tacos yet. I can’t get myself to try something else because they are so good. Shredded beef tacos are my favorite and few places around serve them. That is my favorite here. The pastor and asada are also both good. I’ve even had the carnitas which is also good. There are many more choices… tongue, cheek, etc. I stick with the beef though. The corn tortillas are very good. I also like the«California» taco which is on a flour tortilla with standard lettuce and cheese. Again, the steak and cheese in this taco stand out, as does the tortilla itself. I should mention the other tacos come with your standard double corn tortilla, chopped onions, cilantro and some sort of sauce. The sauce is good but I think I may order it on the side next time in order to control the portion. Too much can make the tacos all taste the same. I don’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve been here 6 times in the past month and every time it has been great. The service has been good, the place is clean, the chips and salsa are good. Prices are about $ 2.50 per taco. I get 3 tacos and a drink and it runs about $ 9-$ 10. No rice and beans, I just get the a la carte. Maybe a dollar or two high, but it won’t keep me from going as it is worth it.

We went here for the first time Friday evening(Black Friday). We were looking for somewhere away from the mall since we figured everywhere around the mall would be busy with Black Friday shoppers. It was still doing a good business for early on a Friday evening. Service was good. Hubby got tamales and I got steak quesadilla and we got cheese dip. Chips were fresh and the dip was good. The margarita was good too. Wasn’t too pricey and I took half mine home. We usually go to other established Mexican restaurants in Douglasville and since this was our first time here I was pleasantly surprised. We will definitely go back!

Excellent food. I’ve been to pretty much every Mexican place in Douglas, Paulding, and West Cobb, and this place remains one of my favorites in the area.

Recomended by a neighbor. On arrival saw it was in a strip mall next to Kroger. Don’t let that keep you from stopping in. Drinks were great and they don’t skimp at all on alcohol. Food is pretty close to authentic Mexico. I’m pretty sure they make everything fresh. Had tacos California. Waitress suggested chicken and I wanted steak. She got me 1chicken and 2 steaks. Totally filled me up. Tasty and fresh. We came from Chicago and finally found a great Mexican restaurant in Georgia!

I stopped by here for a late lunch while in Douglasville for business. I figured it would be a quick and easy alternative to fast food, and more flavorful than a drive-thru. The chips and salsa did the trick(salsa often makes or breaks it for me), and the frozen margarita I ordered was pretty good(had a bit of an orange taste, so that was interesting). I didn’t order anything too complex; 2 gorditas without meat and a side of rice. The waitress seemed really confused by the fact that I just wanted beans, cheese, and crema in the gorditas, but I wasn’t feeling meat-y. So, I sit and wait. And wait some more. Parties that came in after me got their food and were already eating by the time mine got to the table. The gorditas were burnt, so I ended up just eating the filling and leaving the best(but burnt) part behind. Better luck next time, maybe?

Well I stopped by here this evening. My second visit to see how I felt about this location. It turns out I really do like the food here. This time I(we) got a Chicken Burrito, a Steak Gordita and because I need more protein I asked for a side of beans and rice. Total was just at $ 15. This location seems to always have a nice sized crowd so you know that it must be pretty decent. It took about 10 minutes and our food was ready to go. I noticed a few«Specials» that you can get, I guess if you eat in. Like I think Saturdays special was Fajitas for two for $ 18. Can’t remember the rest. I apparently had my mind set on some Fajitas. :) They charge you extra, according to the menu, for ALLTAKEOUTORDERS. We got home to eat and the first thing I heard was«Oh hell nawl. We could have just gone to Taco Bell for this. Do you know how much food we would have for 15 damn dollars?» Okay so after I LOL, I took a bite of my Chicken Burrito. I thought it was okay. Just ok. It didn’t have any special flavor that stood out. Maybe it needed melted cheese??? It had nice sized chunks of juicy chicken, red and green bell peppers, onions that all had a crunch to it and a small amount of cheese. It just tasted more Tex-Mex to me than Authentic. Oh but it was something in there that was spicy and I did like that! Plus it was a big Burrito. This plus the rice and beans is enough to get you stuffed. Or so I thought. I swapped my burrito for his Gordita and then we were both happy. But he still wasn’t full… The Steak/Beef Gordita was just what I expected. It looks a little smaller than some other places but it is stuffed with beef, tomato, lettuce and cheese. I put a little of the rice and beans one side and that half of the Gordita was all I could eat at one time. The beef was tender and flavored perfectly. Not sure what happened to that Burrito. If everything else on the menu is as good as the Gordita, then I would like this restaurant. I had the beef tacos once and they were good but that was all I had and I like to try a couple of things before I give a restaurant a review. Overall I enjoyed my Beef/Steak meals. I thought the rice and beans, with a packet of salt added to them, were better than the Chicken Burrito but my friend enjoyed the Burrito better than he did the Gordita. So what do I know??? I think that this place has better quality Beef than the one with the 99 cent tacos right down the street from here. But I think the other place is more Authentic. And hey, I want to taste Real Authentic food when I go out to eat. I can do Tex-Mex in my kitchen!

I’m crazy picky about my beaner food and after waiting nearly 2 years to try this place, I was pleasantly surprised; their food was AWESOME. Their chile rellanos are just as good as place I’d find back home in LA(the best I’ve had since moving here). This is my new spot to hit up and I couldn’t be happier that it’s less than5 minutes from me. I’m a fan for sure!

Bad Service, they take too long to get you your food. I am from Mexico and this is not authentic Mexican food, rather cheap and tasteless. The service is terrible, servers yell and sit around doing nothing, they charge you for everything, want extra limes, ok $ 1.00 extra, more sour cream, that too… Save your money, this is restaurant is crap.

Went to Taqueria Jalisco over the weekend and I was ready for the mexican food with the family. Showed up in the afternoon and the place was moderately busy, so off the bat service was slow. Took awhile to put in the order and recieve the usual chips and salsa. The waitress eventually brought out the food and accidentally burned my three year old’s arm as she was putting the hot plate on the table. What gives this place the bad review is the waitress had no reaction whatsoever. She set the plate down and stood there, no sympathy or reaction. We asked for a cold towel and it took her a few minutes to do that, but by then the wife had taken the child to the bathroom to run cold water on the arm. Afterwards the waitress finally apologized and continued her service. As for the food it was decent, nothing spectacular but was authentic as for locale concerns. I’ve had better. I did find the pico de gayo was not to my liking, something was funny about it. Overall I would go back to try something different, but the bad service gives me second thoughts.

There is no question I love tacos, not the American cheese, tomato and whatever else they put on it… but the authentic ones. This is another spot that does a good job of it. I had asada, pollo, carnitas and pastor. All were loaded up with meat, cilantro and onions, a nice sized taco with very good flavor. It comes in a double torilla although not a hand made one. Free chips and salsa, I’d prefer the salsa to be thicker. The only other downfall is the tacos here are over $ 2 each, not a great deal in taco land. However…definitely one of the better taco joints I’ve come across, rivals Buford Hwy.

Although my quest for finding truly outstanding Mexican food in Georgia is almost as futile as previous quests to find truly outstanding Southern/BBQ food in California(where I’ve also lived), it apparently will need to continue, despite a pleasant experience at Taqueria Jalisco. Compared to the rest of the Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at in Atlanta(and not just Douglas County), Taqueria Jalisco is certainly much better than most. The textures and flavors of the tortillas and meats indicate that they actual make their food rather than just heat up facsimiles of Mexican food. Their menu’s selection also offers much more than the predictable combination places. There are still a few more Mexican restaurants I need to check out before I move, but the next time I am craving Mexican food and am not in the mood to gamble on a new place, I’ll definitely come back here.
