Classic Cakes II

Terrible! I strongly recommend no one to purchase a customized cake from Classic Cakes!!! I requested a customized 8in Mickey Mouse theme cake for my son’s 2^nd birthday this past Monday. The owner Vickie made a outline of how I wanted the cake, as well as me emailing her the exact picture of the cake. Vickie acted like she understood the desired look I was going for. I left the shop feeling confident and assured the cake would turn out well, but that was not the case at all. The cake was definitely OVERPRICED for the LACK of DETAIL and TIME put into it. The cake did not look like it came from a professional bakery but made by the hands of AMATEURS! Definitely was not worth $ 48 MORE like $ 12. The overall taste was terrible and did not taste like a actual cake made with the correct amount of ingredients. I would of felt embarrassed as a shop owner giving someone a cake like this!!! My brother had purchased a cookie monster cake from SAFEWAY only $ 23 in place of this disastrous cake from Classic Cakes. Not only did the cake taste fresher from Safeway but it was decorated nicely. Please do not waste your time and money. Your better off purchasing a fresh and reasonable priced cake at your local grocery store. Please see pictures

I wish I could write a good review but I can’t. While the decorations are beautiful, it’s evident that the cupcake baking isn’t done everyday. The cupcakes we had were dry and the icing was crispy. Even more disturbing was the hair we found baked into not one, but 3 cupcakes! Owner seemed unapologetic when we called. Didn’t offer a refund, nor to replace the product (not that we were asking for either, but I work in customer service. I know how this works.)
It’s a shame that my first and only experience was a poor one. I will not return.

I normally take the Dover Route 1 bypass and have been missing this store. When I did find it and stopped in, you just smell the cakes. A wonderful selection of cupcakes. There was also other foods and treats. Got to stop in again.
