Greasy food glory! This place is a must for your cheat days. Cute interior with checkered floors and bar stools. They have special combinations for their hot dogs and burgers. Seems like their specialities are their Chilli and Texas sauces. We ordered 3 different hot dogs(relish, chilli, and Texas sauce), a birch beer(fountain), and an order or fries with Texas sauce. Dogs were yummy and grilled perfectly. Chilli sauce trumped the Texas sauce in my opinion. First time having Texas sauce and I feel it needed a bit more salt. Fries could also be a bit crispier. Overall, food was a hit! Quick and friendly service. Good for takeout. Cash Only. Park in the small lot or on the street. Great place to dine outside on a nice day. And they’re connected to Dover Dairy, so finish off your meal with ice cream next door!

Ordered a chili cheese dog, chili cheese fries and a philly cheese steak sandwich. Food was good except for the chili not being spicy(not even a little bit) and the cheese was cheese wiz like(it wasn’t normal cheese melted on the grill). Prices were great, but they only take cash so be prepared.

I had waited months for Dover Grill to reopen and I have to say, I’m a tiny bit of disappointed. Not in the dogs, but the service… but I’m hoping it was just a one-time thing since every hot dog fan I know seems to love this place. On a day when both my kids had a half-day I decided to leave work early and treat them to lunch. Parked across the street in their lot and walked in excited to finally try the place. Between the three of us we ordered 2 plain; 1 cheese; 1 chili; 1 chili cheese; and 1 all the way with mustard, grilled onions, Texas sauce, and cheese. We also ordered 3 sodas(mmmmm Boylans birch beer) and a large fries and I asked for a small container of the Texas Sauce to dip the fries because I knew neither kid would like the sauce(picky). This is where they screwed up the order as they put the Texas sauce ON the fries instead of giving me a cup for dipping. When I pointed out the mistake the girl at the counter told me I’d have to place another order to get the fries plain. Clearly this didn’t make me happy as my order had already come to $ 27 so I didn’t bother(my daughter wasn’t a happy). Anyway, the dogs were very good. I’ll admit I liked the chili much more than the Texas sauce, but the sauce wasn’t bad… in fact I liked it much more in the dog(all the way) than on the fries. For the price I was expecting a little more size-wise from the dogs, but they were delicious. In a nutshell, once I get over the fries issue, I’m sure I’ll stop back in… I’m a sucker for a good chili cheese dog.

Holy ish. This place hits the spot if you’re looking for something greasy and so not paleo. Their cheesesteak was fantastic but the mini slider is what stole my heart. It was a bigger version of the White Castle sliders but made with more love. They only take cash which is very inconvenient. Considering that it’s 2016, they should get with the times. Will definitely be coming here more often to get my chunk on.

The best hot dogs you can find. Great atmosphere, food and homemade drinks. Everything is good from the hot dogs to the burgers!

This place is only open March until about October, and it’s cash only, but the food is great. From the mini sliders to the cheese steak, not a bad meal here.

Talk about an All-American place! Dover Grill serves up burgers, hot dogs, chili cheese fries, corn dogs and more! All at an affordable price too. The corn dog had a donut-like coating(not the best corn dog I’ve ever had but would satisfy a corn dog craving). The Texas Burger was basically a burger with their special sauce on top. Chili cheese fries were topped with generous amounts of chili and cheese. Counter seating indoors and picnic tables outdoors provide ample seating for all. There is a small parking lot across the street however street parking is also available. And for dessert, you can just hop next door for some delicious ice cream.

Their deluxe burgers are great, and so are their hot dogs with pineapple. I know it sounds odd, I was skeptical at first but they really taste good. And their piña colada drink is perfect, not too sweet. Excellent place to spend a Summer evening outside on the benches and then going next door to Dover Dairy Maid for some ice cream. The only thing I would change is the service, the workers aren’t too friendly.

Horrible!!! My experience at Dover Grill was disappointing. I ordered over the phone and was greeting poorly and got an attitude. I walk in and again, wasn’t greeted, not even a smile. They have kids working who don’t now how to handle people and don’t know what’s going on. I ordered buffalo wings with Mac and cheese bits. I got home to see the wings looked like they were 3 months old and they tasted the same. My friends say the food is great but do not order the wings, they’re awful and disgusting. The mac and cheese bites were soggy and greasey. I have nothing positive to say about my trip at Dover Grill.

I visited the Dove Grill twice in the last week after seeing these guys listed in the top 25 hot dog places of NJ(Courier newspaper). I have to say, I’m impressed. Ordered a chili-cheese dog with small fries and a black cherry soda the first time. The hot dog was excellent, the bun was toasted and the crinkle fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The second time I visited, I ordered their mini-burgers. Wow! These were really excellent and the fries were as fresh as ever. Another reviewer said these mini-burgers were like an upgraded White-Castle burger and I think that’s a very accurate description. They’re not going to break any speed records for prepping the food, but everything is made to order and very fresh. The interior is very clean(this matters to me). There is a limited counter seating available inside and outside seating is available(picnic tables with umbrellas). Prices are very fair and I would rate the food value as very good/excellent. Overall, this is an excellent place and worth going to if you’re in the area or even traveling to(if you’re not local).

My husband and I were out running errands and decided to give this place a try for lunch. Ratings certainly spoke highly of the place. We ordered a Chicago Dog, a #4 Dog, fries and side of cole slaw. Service was very, very slow(this certainly is not fast food), and the fries were under-seasoned with the special addition of a hair. Cole Slaw was good, but $ 0.75 for one spoonfull was a bit pricey — about 3 bites worth. The Chicago Dog was good but way below the standards you should expect for a good Chicago Dog. The #4 Dog was a real disappointment — not sure what flavors we were supposed to focus on, but the only good part was the hot dog on it’s own with the bun. Would have been much better plain. Cute joint but not one that is worth the wait or the price.

Everything about Dover Grill is fantastic. The variety and quality are top notch. I love the different types of hot dogs and the mini-cheeseburgers are to die for. It is always busy, but there is never a huge wait. Be aware that they only take cash.

Although I live very close I’ve avoided going here and when craving a Texas wiener would travel to Clifton, NJ for Hot Grill. However, decided it was time to support a local business and I am really glad I did. DELICIOUS hot dogs with chili sauce, onions and mustard. The french fries really impressed me, I asked if they were cut fresh because they were so good, sadly they are not, but it didn’t matter, they were perfect. I plan to go back and try a burger all the way. Also, I was impressed with how clean it was inside.

Awesome place. Resembles an old time hot dog place. Everything is made to order and the entire menu it’s pretty awesome. The Dover dairy is right next door and is awesome for a post meal dessert. Warning: they don’t take credit cards make sure you have cash.

If you love hotdogs as much as me definitely go to Dover grill! Very cute setup for outside dining as well as indoor seating. I got the hotdog all the way number 3. This had their Texas sauce, cheese and onions and mmmmm mmmm mmmm I can’t say enough good things about it!!! Skip Stewarts down the street and try this gem! You won’t be disappointed!

This is fast food heaven. The hot dogs are out of this world good. My favorites are the reuben and chili cheese dogs. They have the snap effect. I always order the cheese fries with a side of gravy.

Ugh, died and gone to hot dog heaven. It is no divey Rutt’s Hut(#1 Best Hot Dog Forever), but their hot dogs are delicious. Between my manfriend and myself, we had two Chicago dogs, a plain hot dog, a cheeseburger, a mini burger, an order of onion rings/fries, small fries, a side of their in-house Texas sauce, a medium pepsi and a medium iced tea. I had the plain mini-burger, and it is similar to what another reviewer noted as well — a better White Castle burger. Their onions are grilled into the bottom of the patty. However, the regular sized burger came with the most beautiful sesame seed dotted bun. It looked fake, and a tear almost came to my eye. The Chicago dog at Dover Grill is the best Chicago dog I’ve had outside of Chicago. It’s not necessarily a standard Chicago dog — the onions are minced, you get a jalepeno instead of a sport pepper, pickle slices instead of a spear — but the essence of the world’s best topped hot dog was still there. Now let’s discuss their crinkle cut fries and perfect onion rings and the perfect half and half combo. Perfect. We got the Texas side($ 1.10!) on the side to try with the fries, and I’m not sure how different the chili sauce is. We’ll have to give it a go the next time. There is indoor counter seating that lines the windows, and plenty of outdoor seating as well. Solid hot dog place. Cash only. There is plenty of parking available.

Their hot onion sauce on a burger or hot dog is DELISH! Philly cheese steak is stuffed and yummy. Their chili is very tasty too. Went back here twice to and from Poconos and NY. Convenient location. Will be coming back!
