This is by far the best Mediterranean food place I’ve been to. Their food is tasty and delicious. My favorite here is the Filet Mignon with Shrimp plate which comes with rice, hummus and a small salad. Customer service is always awesome and friendly. I can’t wait for the new location to open up at The Downey Promenade!

Lame at best. If the customer asks for dressing on the side then the restaurant should not put disgusting white dressing on the salad and try to convince a customer that is lemon and garlic and he should enjoy it. That is not acceptable. Repeated requests for salad replacement without dressing were not unswered, which is shameful. I’m guessing it’s the only place around that has Mediterranean food otherwise I don’t understand why so many customers were there for lunch. Or maybe they don’t have taste buds. Chicken and Shawarma were dry, rice was lame and salty. «Hot sauce» was some sort of lame salad dressing. Salad was returned as is because of the disgusting«dressing». Arrived before the lunch crowd and still waited more than 20 minutes. Servers are rude. The appetizers come with the main course so that’s stupid. Never ever coming back. No reason to come here even if you’re hungry. You are better off with a chain restaurant. At least there you won’t pay $ 30 of a lousy meal, after which you’ll still be hungry and feel cheated.

Tiny establishment behind McDonald’s. It gets extremely crowded around lunch time and you can barely squeeze your way through This place is too overpriced. Ive been to several Mediterranean restaurants that are cheaper and more authentic. That just tells me this place is becoming rather commercialized. I used to like this place when it first opened as it was one of the only Mediterranean restaurants around. Now, service is always slow. It takes forever for the food to be ready. And the chicken is always dry. If you want any«substitutes» they charge you around $ 4.00.

This place looks real nice from outside l, but the food is ok at best. if you think this is good, you really haven’t had good Arabic food. Service I had was bad. ordered chicken soup takes them 5 min to bring it to me and it was cold. I waited for the gentleman to come outside, told him my problem, and tells me hell put it in the microwave seriously. The chicken is decent. shawarma is under par. prices are okay. Expected better

Amazing food here, lots of people enjoying different plates. We like what we ordered but thought that there were better choices, we just hadn’t hit upon it. However, it was a place where they cook right in front of you and the meat is hanging there roasting. Wish I could have tried more dishes because they all looked so good.

Ever since my husband and I discovered this gem we have been going here once or twice a week. It’s seriously addicting! Our favorite is the chicken kabob platter. And that green sauce is fire! We love it so much that we don’t even live in the area and we don’t mind driving there for such delicious food. I can see why this place is always a full house. Plus the service here is top notch! Love it!

The food is great! We always do take out and I have never actually eaten inside. I do wish they would expand but for take out their food is so good. Try the steak and the salmon platter with extra green sauce.

Amazing! The service is awesome, food is unbelievably good, lots of food for a very reasonable price, and the quality of the food is beyond 5 stars. Absolutely have to try the mixed lamb and beef Gyro. I’m coming back here whenever I crave Mediterranean.

Im soooo indifferent about this place. I came here when i first moved to socal an absolutely loved the food. I liked how fresh and delicious it was. Portions here are big too. So why the low rating? I’ve never eaten at this location… it’s always been take out for me for the past 4 years. They’ve never once given me an incorrect order up until this past weekend. I was coming back from a friend’s wedding Saturday evening and decided to stop by and grab dinner. It was a day wedding and I didn’t cook anything that day… called in and placed an order for take out. After picking up our order and heading home… I just wanted to relax. I just drove 2 hours from Lancaster with 2 babies in the back seat so I’m pooped. Opened up the bag of take out and… I don’t even know what my order came out to be. I specifically ordered myself a Chicken Shawarma Wrap because I loveeeee their potato chips that come with it. Somehow I got the platter… maybe I was just really tired that that alone put me into a bad mood. I called the restaurant to confront the matter. Mind you I don’t live that close by to this location… it was a drive off the freeway to get here and then to get home… so to suggest me to come back to get the correct order is OUTOFTHEQUESTION… Maybe if i was closer it wouldn’t have been an issue but honestly that’s a waste of time and gas. Plus I’m dead tired… i don’t have energy for this nonsense. The person in charge was Jennifer, the general floor manager. She made it very clear that my next meal would be complementary due to their error. She took my name and number down and apologized for the error. Given how that phone call went… although I wasn’t happy with the dish I received… I said I’d come back again since I’ve always liked their food and service. Today. I was craving Mediterranean again so I asked my husband to go and pick up my order. He spoke to a guy there who claims there was no note of anything from Jennifer about the complimentary meal. He was only willing to give 15%. If that were the case. I would have went to some place closer then to make a drive out there and be told something different then from what was promised. My husband told me the employee refused to take the phone to speak to me so I had to call in to go off on him myself. After hang ups and calls back later… he finally told me he would honor what was promised. Coming home after my daughters class… at least my order was correct this time. Unfortunately the taste was terrible. The chicken wrap smelled as if I just walked into a butchers and the smell was strong of raw pig meat. I obviously couldn’t eat it an threw it out. I’ve had their chicken shawarma before and I’ve never smelled that before in the wraps… but today it smelled super disgusting like a pig just died in my wrap before the bundled the chicken to cover the smell. Another flaw is that they don’t make anything off the menu… like i u want a gyro wrap or beef or lamb shawarma. its not on the menu so they wont and CANT make it. Sorry… I was a loyal customer here but I will no longer be returning. today was my absolute last and I hope that anyone who decides to try this place doesn’t have the same time of service I did.

I love this place! For the money you’re paying you’re getting a great deal at this restaurant. This was my first time hanging out in Downey, too, so we are glad to have found this hidden gem! Here’s what we got: 1) Lamb Chops Platter — You get four lamb chops. They were excellent in flavor and such a great choice! This dish includes rice, salad, but does not include hummus. However, it does include this amazing mushroom stir fry! 2) Chicken and Kafta Kabob Platter — This was another great dish to get. You get four pieces of chicken and one kafta kabob. They were moist and savory, and the platter came with hummus, rice and salad. 3) Chicken and Lamb Kabob Platter — The lamb was seasoned very well but it seemed a bit dry, like it had been sitting out for a while. You get four of each meat, and you also get hummus, rice and salad. The dishes can be pricey but I think you get a great value. I love the dressing for the salad(tastes garlic-y) and the yummy rice! It is so addicting to finish the whole thing, even if you are full; at least that’s the problem I have: P The customer service is very friendly and the ambiance is casual and great for groups.

I went here today for lunch and ordered to-go. The food smelled and looked very delicious, tasted good too. That was until I found a piece of meat in my food when I was basically done eating! I’m vegetarian, and I ordered the veggies mix grill kabob platter. When I ordered I explicitly said that I am a vegetarian and even asked what broth the rice was cooked in. I am extremely grossed out and disappointed.

Sometimes all you want is good Mediterranean food. I got a gyro. It was good and had more than enough tzatziki sauce. The shaved meat was well seasoned and thick without being overly meaty. The sandwich came with pickled turnips and peppers, and garlic potatoes. Got the potatoes sans garlic so they were bland but oh well. The real star was the gyro.

I don’t know how I don’t have a review for this place. We order from here for our office lunches. The food is good although a bit too salty to my taste. The shish labor is always soft and my favorite. Love their sauces and they’re never stingy on that with takeout.

Who knew that Downey is a Mecca of Mediterranean cuisine? Err… the reason I said that is because we had to pick one from 3 Mediterranean restaurants in the area to get our Mediterranean food fix. I’m sure glad we picked the right one. So you order at the counter, then you become a vulture because you have to find a place to sit. There are only a few tables and chairs. The place is so inviting and welcoming that you want to stay, but again space is limited. We parked ourselves at the counter in view of the cooks preparing our meals. Delicious! Hummus, salad, rice… yum! Love the lamb, chicken, kofta… I’ve not tried the desserts because I am often happy and full afterwards. Because of the limited spacing, we often take meals to go here because we tend to be too hungry to wait too long. The service is always friendly.

Awesome food! Fresh and great flavor. We got the chicken kabob platter and it was really good. It was crowded so there was a bit of a wait but it was worth it and the food still came out in a decent time and still hot. They even bring the food to your table, come to ask you if you need anything. Great friendly service! We will be back. *They said they are opening a 2nd location soon at the new Downey promenade! :)

Came here with my friend Lisa C. because she said it was so good. They did not disappoint. The gyro meat is sliced nice and thick, so it doesn’t dry out too quickly. The salad was fresh and plentiful. Can’t wait to go back and try the falafel!

One of my favorite quick bite Mediterranean place in Downey. My BFF and I have frequented the place since it was located at LBTC. The service is friendly and their sauce is amazeballz! Although they have a variety of food such as lamb, chicken, vegeterian plate, my usual is the shrimp and filet mignon kabob. Cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful with a side of fresh, delicious hummus! Yummmmmy! I usually get the chicken kabobs for my babies while my BFF gets the shrimp or vegeterian plate. And of course we always get their spicy potatoes to share! Yummy!(^_^) The price is decent and for the amount of food it’s totally worth it! This place is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Indoor seating is available but the line can be out the door at times because their food is so good!

Finally got to try this place out after having it bookmarked for quite some time. Came in on a Sunday evening, and was surprised at how small the restaurant is. There are probably only 6 or 7 tables total with the largest table only able to seat 4. There were a couple of small tables set outside, but it was surface of the sun hot that day so no one was eating al fresco. Decided on their combo plate with one skewer of chicken and another with their kafta kabab(ground beef and lamb with spices cooked on a skewer). The combo plate comes with rice, hummus, a side salad, one pita, and their green sauce. I don’t like salad so I asked if I could sub out their spicy potatoes for the salad. There was a 99 cent upcharge to sub. You know, it really saddens me when places upcharge you for subbing out a side for a side. It’s not like you’re asking for anything additional. You’re basically asking them for something else rather than what their combo plate comes with — I doubt there is any cost increase for them to do this. And is it harder for them to put a scoop of spicy potatoes on my plate instead of the salad? Unlikely… But I digress. — since I read a lot about the spicy potatoes, I wanted to try them so I agreed to the additional cost. Luckily we were able to find a table inside(all the tables were filled when we arrived so we had to vulture people for seats) before our food arrived. They bring you the food to your table. The food was fresh and hot. It was all quite tasty — and those spicy potatoes were great! The potatoes themselves were crunchy on the edges… I want to say they may have been deep fried before their garlic/spice bath? They were super garlicky with a spicy kick. The green sauce was different as I’m used to receiving garlic sauce with this type of food. But it was good and tasted great on the meat. All in all, I really enjoyed the food. The amount of food you get compared to the cost was a little skewed. Both the chicken skewer and kafta kabob were on the smaller side and my plate including the upcharge and tax came out to over $ 15. Normally if I’m paying this much at a fast casual eatery like this, I get larger portions. I will probably be back.
