Great Value for Chicken in Downey. Perhaps the best.
The Price to Taste Ratio is pretty superb with the chicken coming out moist and while the outer skin stays crisp.
The sides of rice and fries are well cooked as well with the rice having a subtle taste that makes it addictive.
The Green Sauce becomes not just a supplement but a required part of the dish as you continuously drizzle it onto your pieces of tender meat.
A great place for lunch or just whenever you are craving some walking birds.

I love this local, no fuss, mom and pop place. They offer Peruvian rotisserie chicken in various combos. Also, their soup is so delicious! The prices reasonable, customer serve is always great, and the place is small but clean.

50 minutes to wait for our order to be ready, on a non busy day. Won’t be coming here anymore.

Amazing rotisserie chicken, this place has been here for 20+ years, still tastes as good as it did back then… don’t mind the drive! For $ 23 you can feed 4 people, even the salad tastes sooo good!

I was craving some pollo ala brasa and wasnt willing to drive to Gardena so had to settle for something closer to home, which is how I found Toyitos.
Toyitos does only one thing, chicken. your not gonna find lomo saltado, cerviche, papas la huancaina or any other peruvian staple here. its chicken, all day and every day chicken only! So of course I had the chicken with sides of rice, beans and salad. The chicken is good, but was kind of missing those peruvian flavors. And I think they were missing cause they dont use a wood burning oven. Ok, cant knock them for that. And be aware the restaurant is really small. just a few tables and when I was there they were busy. I originally ordered to go cause no tables were free but luckily a table freed up after placing my order and had no issues converting my order from to go to eat there. The service here was welcoming and friendly. Certainly a bonus. I wouldnt mind coming back to get some chicken when i start craving pollo ala brasa.

Get combo number 3 dining with a friend? One heat rice the other beans mix and share best thing ever. The green sauce is delicious best thing besides there chicken.

(FORGOT TO SUBMIT MY REVIEW– this review is from March 2015) Yum! I had the aguadito (peruvian chicken soup) & my gf had combo #2 which consists of pollo a la brasa & fries. Both were very good & inexpensive. Both dishes plus and inca kola (delicious soda) a doña pepa & a mazamorra pouch for just $ 16.95!!! The green sauce has a limey twang to it which went well with the chicken. We loved the fact that their chicken just fell off the bone and was not super dry not to mention the size was perfect & didn’t look like it was injected with a crap load of hormones. They have some Peruvian goodies, sauces and sweets for sale (try the helado de lucuma). Only down side was the AC, it was hot in there and eating in a hot place can be uncomfortable. I would recommend it & definitely go back!

Some BOMB Peruvian chicken. Wonderful flavors come from this small brick and mortar. The flavors are anything but small. The sides of rice and beans have a lot of life to them. Only wish I had found this place earlier ;)

The chicken is juicy and seasoned beautifully, the rice is garlicky, the beans are amazing, even the fries are somehow perfect.

This is the best chicken joint in Los Angeles and Orange County. El pollo loco suck ass compared to this Peruvian style chicken house. Kfc and Popeyes can take there southern friend chicken and retire like the confederate flag. Fresh salad fresh beans and good to the last bone chicken. Nice staff and for me most important it’s clean yes it’s fucking clean.

My friend took me to this small moms & pops restaurant to eat Peruvian food. I ordered the chicken plate that comes with white steam rice and thick fries. The chicken was tender and fresh, is what I liked most of this dish. But overall it needed more flavor and seasoning. The service was not that good either.

Amazing, amazing, amazing quick Peruvian food. The aji sauce has quite a kick and you won’t be able to stop eating it. I love their salad, not so much the soup, steak fries are plentiful and the rice is surprisingly very soft (not hard or mushy). As for the chicken, delicious! You can taste the flavor down to the bone. You have to give this place a try.

This is food like you made it at home. The chicken is juicy and has a great flavor. The beans are very simple probably out of a can but hey for the price what do you expect. The salad was good but would recommend providing an option for different lettuce. Ice berg lettuce is just cheap and in general doesn’t taste like much. The tomatoe on the salad was one big slice I had too use my fingers to eat it cause no knife was provided.
So overall good cheap food like you made it at home. Would come back for something quick to eat but definitely is not what I would consider a five star sit down restaurant.

BEST IN TOWN HANDS DOWN!!! I have never been disappointed by their food or service. I am always happy when I know I will be able to have lunch here. LOVE IT!

Small hole in the wall location but don’t that fool you the food is delicious. And don’t forget to try the ice cream.

The best pollo a la brasa ever!!! Me and my family come here like 6 – 7 times a month! Their chicken is juicy and the skin so crunchy the salad very fresh and tangy !
The fries are delicious !!! I love everything about this place!

Excellent chicken tasty must try salad and homemade green sauce really good best to order for pick up. Place is small only drawback people really nice great service
