Bon-Ton Department Store

This was my first shopping experience with bon ton and surely the last one. i wish I read the reviews before making an online order with them. i ordered an Estée Lauder product which was supposed to come with a free gift. First they (I don’t know why) only shipped the original product in one package and may be the gift into other shipment. Anyways I placed the order on 29^th April and it was scheduled for delivery on 4^th may. I kept on tracking it with the fedex tracking no. Provided to me by bonton in my email. on 3^rd April it showed that the package has been handed over to usps for delivery. On 4^th at 4pm it showed that the package is delivered to the addressee whereas I didn’t receive anything. Now I am calling back and forth bon ton, usps and FedEx but no one has been a help. I don’t know where is my package. I am seriously angry and advise all of you please please never ever order from bon ton. I always order things online from other stores and never had any problems but with bon ton, I am pissed off.

I’ll never go there again. I went yesterday with coupons they sent me for pretty substantial discounts. The (bored?) check out staff told me to «read the small print on the back» — not a single coupon was honored! Saw a great Ralph Lauren shirt marked «sale.» When I brought it to the counter they said that sign referred to items on the other side of the display shelf, although it said «sale» on both sides. No matter. I ended up leaving all the things I selected on the counter and left, as one of the check out «kids» gave me a smart-​ass thumbs up. That will be my last time attempting to shop at this dishonorable mess of a store.

I was hesitant to place my order at first, because I’ve learned that when an offer is too good to be true it often is. I wanted three pieces of purple Leisure brand luggage, 18, 24, and 27 inch. I found a coupon code that would get me all three pieces for 45.00 (50% off total) if I spent 50.00 so I found a cute pair of earrings for 5 bucks that were on clearance in limited supply. I have another piece of luggage by the brand that I have been very happy with for what I use it for, so this deal sounded ridiculously good. I searched some BonTon reviews and found some unhappy customers but decided to give it a try anyway. After placing my order I wondered, «If the earrings are out of stock, will I still get the deal because then I’ll be under the 50.00 minimum», so I called customer service. I was pleasantly informed that not only would the deal still be honored on my order if the earrings were out of stock, but I was told, «gee, you were entitled to free shipping which you already paid for, so let me just refund that to you.» That doesn’t happen often. The luggage and earrings arrived as promised, the packaging was thorough, the quality was as great as I expected and clearly my experience with customer service was awesome. I’m a very happy customer!

Looks good… $ 50 off $ 100 but nearly everything you probably want to buy is excluded. The final insult is checking out with LONG lines because everyone is trying to use their coupons and nothing they buy is eligible. Frustrating!!!

Please do not order online from them. You will not receive your items in time frame given and customer service does not respond in timely matter or with any helpful answers. Please save your time and money and go else where. They do not care about their customers. I’m sick to my stomach with the money I have spent and have not received my merchandise.

For years I have been going into BonTon around the Thanksgiving holiday. Today I saw an ad with a $ 10.00 coupon. On the back of the coupon, it limited the purchase to either regular priced items or sale items. You could not use it on a slew of other things — no designer items, no everyday value, no doorbusters, etc. When I got to the store, it seemed that everything in the store had a special sign above it. I found an item with no sign, stood on a 20 minute line and when I got to the cashier, she said «Oh, you can’t use this. Its a doorbuster item.» I said «There was no sign on it.» She replied that it was definitely a doorbuster item and maybe the sign had fallen down. At that point, I told her to keep the item and walked out of the door. I have truly had it with this store. I would assume that they think once you come through the door, even if you can’t utilize the coupon that brought you in, you would buy something anyway. That is a horrendous way to deal with consumers. All I can say is that this consumer will never shop at Bön Ton again.

Below message you get if they don’t have item in STOCK… While they charge your credit card and reverse it… So your credit cards company thinks its fraudulent charges, cause your keep entering thinking typo entering the number. When you call 800 for help you get clueless response. Please be careful when you order online from these folks…

Went to Emmaus, PA location today to spend money. This money was to spend on men’s slippers. No men’s slippers until Christmas holiday season. How ridiculous? It would appear that men are only worthy of slippers during the holiday season. Go bare foot until then. Of course you could shop elsewhere for what you need.

Horrible customer service!!! I placed a big order (about $ 500). One product came back completely damaged. I had to pay to return it. When they received it, they did not send me any confirmation ! I called in, and after spending over one hour on the phone, and talking with 3 customer service representatives, they were not able to do anything. The product that was sent to me damaged, was not even in stock anymore. HORRIBLE! I will never order from Bonton again!

Unable to send replacement (Items are OOS).
Waited 4 months for Bonton to get more in stock. Finally, they do
I call to ask them to re-​ship. They said «ok»
3 weeks later. No package. Call to get status. They can’t give me a tracking #.
3 weeks more. Still nothing. After 30+ phone calls to customer service, they still can’t get me my tupperware.
Customer service simply doesn’t care about your (THEIR) problem. They should be calling me EVERYDAY to update me on order status and apologize. They never called back when they said they would. F–

Great convenient smalltown department store smack dab in the middle of Doylestown. Mens, womens, children’s wear, home furnishings and just about anyting else you would typically find in your bigger stores. Parking is also more convenient that you find at the big malls! They carry some «designer» brand names (Ralph Lauren, Jones New York, etc.), department store quality cosmetics and fragrances, and they often run great sales. A nice diversion from your typicaly offerings in the burbs!

It’s not that I don’t like the Bön Ton, BUT there is NO juniors section?! The shoe section is also really small. So for those reason, this location gets a 2!

I like this store. It is always so clean and organized. The help really is helpful. Yes, the clothes do cost more, HOWEVER they also tend to be better quality and they look good. Staff is helpful, but keep their distance, just what I like!
My only complaint is there is only 1 restroom,

I agree with the previous reviewer. Bön-​ton is pretty cool. I just bought a pair of jeans there yesterday. They have good prices, but are a bit more organized and have less ugly things than, say, TJ-​max.
Of course, as someone who is not 6’5 and 250 lbs, or 5’6 and 250 lbs, their large number of sale items that fit such people well can be frustrating. Still, I think the problem is much greater at lots of other discount stores. Definitely worth a visit.

Oh the Bön ton! (In my mind it still is Hess’s) An all-​purpose old-​style department store right in the D-​town shopping center.
You can get women’s, men’s and kids clothes and shoes here. Accessories, hats, household goods and of course — cosmetics. There is a Clinique counter, Estee Lauder — the works.
And if you read the Daily Mistake (I mean, the Daily Intelligencer, you can get coupons and come during one of their fabulous sales.)
Recently I bought a party dress for my 3 year old daughter here — a top designer in children’s clithing — marked down from $ 110 to $ 59 — but I came with a sale coupon and walk out with it for $ 36.00
Gotta LOVE the Bön Ton.
