Rent-A-Center

I needed an appliance and figured I would try Rent A Center in Duarte. My biggest complaint is that they call numerous times to remind you of your up coming payment. I was set up on the original application to pay every two weeks. But somehow they thought it was every week and began to call even more often. Also, there was one time I went into the office to pay the bill and then later that day a person knocked at my door and said I needed to pay my bill. I said I paid earlier that day. I had to wait since he did not believe me while he called the office to check if I had made a payment. Seems like they are more aggressive with getting paid than given good customer service. They should really try harder to make the customer happier so that they will get good recommendations. Then they would see more revenue coming in. But, I will never go back after paying off the contract and never recommend their company. So think twice before you want pay 4 times more for an item with less customer service.

I purchased a pair of couches about 7 Months ago from this location. From the first day I had the best experience. Let me start off by saying that I ruined my credit years ago and had a hard time getting credit from other stores. I decided to go with RAC.
I spoke to Rosie over the phone to inquire about some couches I saw on their website.
A week later I walked into the Rosie remembered my name right off the bat. The process was really easy and I my couches were delivered the next day. She’s super nice and every time I have gone she’s always busy keeping the store clean.
I recently also purchased a tv stand and Hernan gave me excellent customer service as well. He went out of his way to find an available tv stand at another location and work with me on payments.
I had previously received horrible customer service from the Covina and la Puente/​West Covina locations. Duarte is a little far from me but I would take their customer service over distance any time.
And I have never received multiple calls from them. I actually never receive calls unless its for a promotion. They won’t bother you if you pay on time.

About 4 months ago I was looking at laptop options. I decided instead of paying a large lump sum of cash for a laptop I’d see if going to RAC would be better on my finances. I was particularly excited to see that they had newer laptops than what I expected. After I picked out the one I wanted and signed the contract, things were good. Or at least I thought they were. What they don’t tell you is they will call you worse than a collections company every time you have to make a payment! Not when you’ve missed one, but literally every week I had a payment and every week BEFORE I made my payment I would get anywhere from 4 to 7 calls from this place.
Recently my cell phone broke and I’ve been waiting for my cell company to send me a new one. But since that has happened, of course RAC has been trying to contact me. I only know this because they sent someone to my house saying this exactly. After I explain to him that I haven’t had my phone b/​c of the situation, he said that I was late on my payments. I told him that I wasn’t seeing as how I figured out how to make payments online and I wasn’t due til the weekend. He continued to question me about how I’m using the internet and almost insisted that I was lying about my cell phone situation.
I would advise anyone who is thinking about using RAC, PLEASE DON’T! Unless you like the same people calling you 20 times in 3 days go for it. I personally don’t enjoy the harassing phone calls all the time. Guess that’s one thing I now enjoy about not having my phone at the moment.
