I give it 4, but maybe not quite. Some improvements can be made, but the ramen is pretty good and legit. It’s like going to burger place, and saying the burger tasted good, but the fries was so so. Good service and clean.

If you want to pay a lot of money for a gigantic bowl of noodles with mediocre toppings, this is the place for you. They are really happy to take your money and give you not-quite-tasty fare in return.

Walking into Menya really brought me back home. It is a low-key restaurant located in some strip mall. We checked in on Unilocal(you get a free appetizer) and chomped on the pork belly(which was delish) until our ramen came out. I ordered the black tonkatsu and wished my belly had the capacity to finish it all. It was pretty awesome. I don’t think any other place has that so I would definitely try it. It’s a ways distance from where I live, so I probably won’t be coming here as I would to Meshikou, but definitely will be making the trek every once in a while. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal

I’ve had the soy sauce ramen and the tonkatsu ramen. Both came in fairly large portions(at least for me). Overcooked noodles can really kill ramen, but Menya’s noodles are cooked perfectly. It is on par with ramen that I’ve had from noodle stalls in Japan. Something that I can’t live without when eating ramen is an order of gyoza. Menya’s gyoza never fail to please, and are the perfect combination of crispy(on the bottom) and soft/chewy.

I have been going since the pop up location in Powell. And have been to the Dublin location a handful of times and the conclusion is that this is easily the best ramen spot in town. Most other ramen places in Columbus are pretty mediocre. My usual is the Tonkotsu Ramen and the broth in it is really tasty. The ingredients and the meat and noodles are high quality. The only downsides are the this side of town is not the easier to get to and the portions could be bigger. But I definitely recommend this spot if you are craving ramen!

Wow, yum! Traveling across the country, we used Unilocal a lot to figure out where to eat. So glad the reviews for Menya and the Ramen were so good, otherwise we would not have walked in, it being in another ugly American strip mall. Glad we did, as we had our leftover ramen the next night too in another ugly motel… Having had ramen in the SF Bay Area and NYC, I have to say, they know what they are doing! Sweet servers too.

My first time here and they are now opened 11AM to 2PM for a modified lunch. Soon they will offer a full lunch. I had the Black Spicy Miso Ramen and it was awesome! It was probably too much for lunch(although I finished it). I would suggest splitting a meal. I would like to see lunch portions.

Not really authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. I prefer Akaihana, Tensuke and Mehiko style ramen.(Noodle and broth) clean restaurant and nice server. Kids play area is in the middle of the restaurant.

We’ve been to Menya about five times now, and every time it has consistently been good. I’ve only ordered the tonkotsu ramen because it is probably the best in Columbus. I say this having previously been a ramen snob, thinking there’s no way this can compare to the ramen I’ve had in LA. But, Menya’s broth is rich and creamy, and the noodles are just the right texture. My husband has sampled the other types of ramen, and he was a fan of all of them. What really sets this place apart is the fast, friendly service, and, its kid-friendliness. The latter might not be so appealing to everyone, but for this particular family, we really appreciate the attention to detail. From the kid-friendly plates and silverware, to the little play area in the middle of the restaurant. I’ve actually been able to sit and enjoy the delicious bowl of ramen in front of me. That alone gets the place 5 stars.

So i have been to this place 3 times within a month or so. The food is absolutely delicious. I was in love. However a friend of mine is ridiculously picky. So i asked if we could sample the different broths.(I have done this at other places). The waiter told me I couldn’t sample the broths because they are packaged. I guess in my mind I thought they had batches of broth made then they just added noodles to orders and put the toppings on. We called him back and told him we were a bit disappointed by that. Then he said some of it is homemade some of it is packaged. But I think he was just trying to cover himself. They have a problem with waiters. Either there’s not enough help or the help isn’t good. Theres a girl that has shorter hair and that has a bright personality. She does well. But the other girl with the longer curly hair that wears it up. She messes up our check every time we are in there. I’ve seen her mess up other tables. And she takes forever to check refills or take our order. In fact in general i’ve had to have my check altered every time i’m in there. I give this place 4 stars because at the end of the day the food is delicious. Regardless of if it is from package or made fresh. The service is not the best but i’m in it for the food. At first i was going to make this my go to place. But i’m still going to hit up Tensuke and other places as well.

Menya Noodle was my first foray into authentic ramen. I ordered the black tonkatsu ramen, and it arrived lickety split; easily under five minutes. The broth left me with an instant impression. It was incredibly tasty. It had a rich, full flavored taste. A bit of a spice to it, but in the most delicious way. The pork was well cooked, but I just wished there had been more of it for an entrée costing $ 11+. I ended my meal with the mango pudding, which was a great choice. The flavor and texture were on point. Something I highly recommend. The service was really good considering there was only one main server, and a relatively full dining room. A trip to Menya is needed if you are in search of good, authentic ramen!

So the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but it’s worth it– this is the most flavorful ramen I’ve ever had. The broth is excellent. I got the creamy potato and my bf got the black tonkatsu. Both were bursting with flavor and exciting to eat. Sooo good.

I got the black tonkatsu ramen for carry out. I think this might be some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. The toppings(noodles, pork belly, ginger, seaweed, scallions, and an egg) were pretty standard, but the broth really took it over the edge. I don’t really know how to describe it other than that it has the perfect amount of salt and spices and is almost creamy in taste. I’m definitely impressed, and I’ll be back again!

OHSOGOOD. I’ve been so eager to go visit this place when it opened up, but only managed to make it last weekend. Got the black tonkatsu ramen — noodles perfectly cooked, broth wonderfully rich leaving a savory flavor, pork belly tender with the right amount of fat… what else can you ask for? Everyone else at the table got the same thing, we didn’t try anything else, but everyone left with happy stomachs. Our waitress was super nice, too!

So yum! I’ve only been to two ramen places in Cbus and this is my fav. Plus they have a little play area for the kiddos! I got the spicy miso ramen and my hubs got the tonkatsu. We also had the gyoza and cod toe rice. I want to try the spicy black miso next time. Will definitely be back!

I can’t believe I haven’t tried this place sooner! My excuse was that Powell was too far away but now that they’ve moved to Dublin, I had to come check it out. Definitely the best ramen I’ve had in Columbus and on par with many places in Chicago, Boston, etc. I got the black tonkotsu ramen and loved it — the broth was rich without being too creamy, the noodles were plentiful and chewy, and the pork was pretty tender(there’s only one piece but it’s big). Only thing I didn’t like was all the ginger and bamboo shoots, so I would probably get it without those next time. Service was also excellent and the restaurant was cute/nicely decorated. There’s a random playing area for kids in the middle, which was kind of unusual but not obtrusive. Everything was very reasonably priced(~$ 10-$ 12 for the ramen dishes), plus you get a free app if you check in on Unilocal Sun-Thurs. I’m definitely coming back to try out some more dishes!

TIP1: If you check in on Unilocal, you get a free appetizer! TIP2: Pay attention to their hours, they’re only open certain hours and days of the week I am super excited to have found great and decently priced ramen in Dublin! I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, which comes with a creamy broth, egg, pork belly, and bamboo. I wasn’t really a fan of the ginger, but it was an easy fix to just remove it from the bowl! It was full of flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly! I enjoyed the broth and would definitely recommend it if you’re not into spicy ramen. As for our appetizer, I wouldn’t recommend the mapo tofu. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. It doesn’t come with rice so it’s kind of awkward to eat because it’s really thin/watery and comes on a flat platter. It didn’t really have much taste, so it definitely needs some more seasoning! As for the service, the staff was very kind! We were seated immediately, placed our orders quickly, and our food was ready in a few minutes. They have really small water glasses, but they were always around refilling our glasses! They also do not serve alcohol. They have a really cute play area for children, so it’s a great place to bring the family for dinner!

First time here for both; Husband had the Black tonkotsu ramen w/seasoned rice & shredded pork belly +noodles, delicious, very flavorful. We shared the pork belly app. I could’ve just eaten 2 dishes of this. I had the Cod roe rice w/dipping noodles & the in house soy sauce ramen. Very very good. The sauce was mild, but still very tasty. Loved the Cod Roe rice, had a bit if a bite, but with the rice was superb. We both ordered our entrees with extra noodles. We’re stereotypical americans, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. There was no need for the extra noodles, but the leftovers will be wonderful for lunch. Will definitely be back!

I am both incredibly delighted to have discovered Menya and incredibly disappointed that it’s so far away from where I live. Even without traffic, it takes me a good 20 – 30 minutes to get here… but it’s absolutely worth the time and gas! I always order their black tonkotsu ramen, which, for a little over $ 11, is a pretty good deal. They do only give you one slice of pork belly, but it’s a pretty thick slice, so probably equivalent in mass to what you’d get at other restaurants. Plus, the pork belly is very fatty, so you won’t leave feeling hungry. The noodle is cooked to a perfect consistency(not too soggy or too hard), and the broth is incredibly flavorful without being disgustingly oily. My main complaint with most ramen shops is that the broth is too thick, but I was completely satisfied with what is served at Menya. You can also order the black tonkotsu extra spicy(which my friend did), but I didn’t really taste too much of a difference between mine and his. It is spicier, but just barely. Bonus — you can get a free appetizer if you check in on Unilocal,so be sure to take advantage! My friends and I got the pork belly and seasoned egg(hey, you can never have too much!), and we devoured it before the noodles even arrived. Easily my all-time favorite ramen place outside of California!

I’ve been here twice now, and I’m still obsessed. Good ramen is a bit hard to come by in Columbus(I love you Tensuke, but your ramen game needs to be stepped up a bit), and when I found this gem by happenstance, I couldn’t have been happier. Both times I’ve come, I’ve ordered the Black Tonkatsu Ramen. The broth is incredibly flavorful, with large slices of pork floating around with the noodles. It is a bit spicy, so if you can’t handle that I’d suggest some of the other tasty bowls on the menu. The potato ramen keeps catching my eye, so one of these days I’ll have to try it. The first time I got the straight noodles that automatically come with the dish, which were tasty enough, but I have to agree with other reviewers that the wavy noodles are better, which I requested during my second visit. During my second visit, my boyfriend and I were also given a free order of onigiri, which was a delicious surprise. The meat one was quite tasty, with a subtle saltiness, but the fish(I think?) was my favorite. I honestly don’t know for sure what was in it, but I finished it very quickly! The service was very prompt, with the waitress giving us ample time to look through the menu and make a decision. The ramen came out not very long after, and was quickly consumed. I wish I was a bit closer to Dublin, but I will definitely be making the hike up here soon as the weather gets colder!

This is a new restaurant that’s opened in Dublin near off of the strip mall on Dublin Granville and Frantz road(next to the Kroger there). The restaurant gives off the vibe of a slightly upscale Chinese takeout but it works. Went with a visiting colleague for a casual dinner out. For appetizers we got the pork belly, the rice, and the ma po tofu. The pork belly was pretty decent(I loved the egg on it!) quite tender. The rice was a mixed review. I didn’t care for it much but others really liked it. The mapo tofu is quite bland and not good at all. I’d avoid it completely. I ordered the spicy(Black) Tonkatsu which had pork belly and broth that was made with slowly cooked pork bone. The brith was superb! The Ramen were pretty good. I also tastes the miso ramen(did not like at all) and the regular Tonkatsu(loved the broth again). I’d probably get the regular Tonkatsu if I visited again but would definitely avoid the Miso. It would also be nice is they provided a variety of sauces instead of just hot oil and vinegar, etc. The server was extremely friendly and helpful. I think she tried to hint to us that the ma po tofu was no good but we were probably too thick to catch on! I’m happy that a Japanese style ramen place has opened up in Dublin. Hope they are able to work out some of these early kinks.

I went to Menya not too long ago after hearing they moved to Dublin. Getting up to Powell is a hassle, so the move was really convenient. The new spot is right off 161 near the 270 interchange, and the new spot is fairly spacious and a bit odd with a kids play area right in the middle. Also, they aren’t open for lunch during the week which strikes me as odd considering how many companies are in the area. I feel like they’re losing out on a lot of business. We started off with the pork belly and scallion appetizer as well as some dumplings. The pork belly was good, not amazing. It’s the same cut of meat used in the ramen bowls, so it’s honestly not worth spending extra on. The dumplings were really tasty and looked like they were just made on the spot. There’s not really a sauce that comes with it. Instead they just give you soy sauce and white vinegar to mix up yourself in a small bowl. As for the ramen, I really loved the black tonkotsu ramen that I ordered, and so did my girlfriend. She ended up eating most of it. The broth had loads of flavor, and the meat was nice and tender. I ended up eating her soy ramen which she didn’t really like. I have to say that I wasn’t a huge fan either. It wasn’t bad, but it really just lacked much flavor at all. If you’re looking to try ramen, I’d stay away from this one, because you might be a tad disappointed. Besides having an uncomfortably awkward waiter, I’d say the rest of the meal was great. The menu here is pretty focused with only a few types of ramen to choose from and not a whole lot of other filler. Ramen focused restaurants in Columbus are few and far between, so this would definitely be a good place to start.

I been to Menya Noodle House couple times before and their foods are always good with reasonable pricing. They recently moved from the Powell location to Dublin. The menu selection is quite small, but that is perfectly fine for an indecisive person like me. I ordered a bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen. Compare to the one that I enjoyed previously, the broth tasted plain. It could have been better if it can still be as rich as flavorful like before the relocation. As for the presentation, minimal amount of broth will be better in contrast to an excessive load of soup; just to make the other ingredients visible at first sight. In addition to the toppings that showed in the picture, there were also bamboo shoots and pork bellies. To accompany the bowl of ramen, a Seasoned Pork Belly Rice were included in the lunch combo meal option as well. It was a white-rice bowl topped with a mixture of little pieces of seasoned pork belly. For me, I think this dish is a bit too dry, but I did enjoyed it! By using a small spoonful of the ramen broth, everything tasted better. Here is a hot bowl of steamed rice, topped with Mapo Tofu. The sauce is over powered by the spiciness and the favor of star anise. Plus, a little more seasoning is needed as it’s compliment with the rice.

I spent a month living in Japan for work. I grew to love ramen and soba noodles and was disappointed to not find a good ramen place like the millions in Japan. Seriously impressed by Menya every time I go. I’ve had the Tonkotsu Ramen(and on occasion have asked for extra noodles or meat, which has been accommodated with no issues), and it has always pleased. Broth is rich, flavorful and went well with the noodles. Portions were more than satisfactory. Service is prompt, very polite and helpful when it came to questions. Compared to other Ramen places in town like Meshikou, Tensuke’s café and the now-closed Jobu, Menya is on another level. I highly recommend checking it out.

Wow wow wow! This place is legit! Having lived in Los Angeles with a big Japanese Community nearby and having traveled to Japan on numerous occasions, I’d like to consider myself a bit of a ramen snob. As per usual, this place has been bookmarked for awhile now and I decided to «TREATYOSELF» last night after enduring some serious exams. I decided to try the Black Tonkotsu Ramen($ 11.25) and opted for thick noodles instead of the thin. The broth was extremely rich and the the«black» sauce(house special roasted garlic & sesame sauce) added some nice kick to the dish. Eggs were cooked to perfection with a solid white yet runny yolk. Pork belly was also decently thick and melted in your mouth. The only ‘meh’ part was the noodles were slightly overcooked. Overall I was extremely satisfied after my meal. Proof? I was hit with an epic food coma immediately afterwards. The taste is authentic and the prices are reasonable. Hands down I would definitely come back again. How else can you tell this place is the real deal? A lot of patrons were middle aged Japanese men. +1 star AUTHENTICITY +1 star friendly service +1 reasonable prices +1 star for portions +1 star convenient location Do yourself a favor and come«TREATYOSELF.»
