The Good Life: A Summer Series With Skyline Chili, Dublin

I don’t even really want to focus on the event itself, which was awesome. Instead, I want to thank Skyline for the generous $ 25 gift card they gave us. So, I took a coworker to another Skyline to treat him to dinner with the gift card. Well, I didn’t have to use it on him, because, since he’s a newb, he got to eat for free. So, I only had to pay for my own meal, which was like $ 5. Then, I went back by myself. I ordered a burrito, and the waiter produced a badass coupon for a free burrito. So, I still have enough for an entire meal at Skyline. This awesomely generous $ 25 gift card is more like a $ 40 gift card, which is just incredible. Thanks to Bryant and thanks to Skyline. I’m officially a fan now!

Skyline knows how to party. No really, they do. We received such a warm welcome from the staff that it makes me immediately want to go back and support their business. Thanks to Bryant for putting it all together. I met some new friends, and stuffed my face with delicious chili.
It was interesting hearing about the rituals and the history of their business. As someone who has been going to Skyline for years, I didn’t know about the bibs and the cracker bombs and such. I had also never had the famous 3-​way, always opting for the coney dogs. Well, it lives up to the hype. Delicious, and now I know the proper way to eat one when I go back.

As the only franchised Skyline in the ‘Bus, it was interesting to learn about the process for the owner.
Delicious food, I was surprised to find something so good for vegetarians! The beans and rice are pretty darn good over noodles or in a bun. In the future, I’ll get it in a bowl or over salad, but will not skimp on cheese. I just can’t compromise there :)

This Unilocal event was SO awesome! Never been to Skyline Chili before because I don’t eat beef, so I assumed that there would be nothing for me except maybe a sub-​par salad. NOT the case! Who knew they had vegetarian black bean chili!!! It was really good! And their Greek salad was impressive, as well! Love all the funny «rituals» like wearing a bib for your chili (you’ll need it!), cracker bombs (hot sauce filled oyster crackers), and York peppermint patties after your meal.
This was a wonderful time and the Redwine family made it very memorable! Tori and Maddie were the best waitresses! Thanks Bryant for hooking us up — we’ll definitely be dining there again soon!!!

Always nice to meet other Unilocaltastic elites! I was in town for work and über glad to attend. Thanks Bryant for the warm welcome and to the Redwine family for introducing this Chi-​town girl to some good ol’ Cincinnati style chili fun!
I was surprised to learn that Skyline Chili has more to offer on their menu than just chili — salads, chicken, vegetarian options — –good to know!
I must say that I am a huge fan of the cracker bombs (oyster crackers filled with their special hot sauce) – oh yes texture and party in my mouf! Definitely think the york peppermints are most welcome after eating any pile of luscious onions and chili :) Also got a great tip from our awesome waitstaff — try the york peppermint patty with some oyster crackers — they taste just like girl scout thin mints (thanks for the tip Maddi) – so true so yum!
I was able to sample the greek salad, a coney dog, and a 3-​way! Let’s just say – I did not walk away hungry at all. I was scared someone was going to have to roll me to the airport LOL! Everything was fresh and tasty!
This is my first experience with Skyline Chili and this will definitely become a part of my regular stops next time I am in town. Kudos to Unilocal Columbus and Skyline Chili Dublin for a fantastic event!

Thanks to Scott and Bryant for putting this together and having us. What a fun night with DELICIOUS food! Got to meet some new elites (Kevin C and wife — sorry I forget her name… it’s because those bibs covered our name tags… and also Mike G) and had a great time. it was cool hearing about the rituals and funny because I already did them without ever knowing about them.
It’s three hours later and my stomach still feels like it may explode… wow, that was too much food!
