Dubuque Humane Society

For being in a mall, this place isn’t so bad.
The dogs that are available for adoption are kept in rooms with a window. The rooms are not the big and the shelter mostly takes in big dogs. You can tell they are stressed because they pace back and forth and constantly pant. it’ sad. :(
On the doors of each room, they hang a little story about each dog and why they are here. Some of the stories were so sad I was weeping in the store. I’m sure they try to make them as sad as possible so people will buy them but still. I’m a softy when it comes to pups. :)
The condition of the place was actually very clean. They have seperate cages where they keep the cats, which is very tiny. that was hard to deal with.
They have this huge area in the back where they gated off so incase someone wanted to play with one of their dogs you would be put in there and the dog and you could run around. That was nice. I’ve never seen such a big play area.
I just hope all those animals find a great and loving home. :)
