With my first glance at their menu skimming through their list of soups and stew, I thought… this is a nice list of soups for a cold day or perhaps while you sit for a drink or two with some friends. My aunts and uncles were raving about their Dweji Gook Bap(pork soup) so I had to stop by to check it out for myself. This soup comes with 3 side dishes that are meant for you to add to the soup. These include salty shrimp, minced jalepenos, and korean red pepper paste. I believe this is THEDISH they are known for as everyone I know that comes here orders their Dweji Gook Bap and is fairly priced at $ 8.99. My sister ordered their Budae Jjigae(kimchi and spicy sausage stew -$ 8.99). This was good but can be a little salty since it has hot dog slices(sausage) in there. We also ordered their Spicy Deung Galbi Jjim(braised pork ribs -$ 13.99). I have to say I was quite disappointed with this dish. It was peppery rather than spicy. It also had a really really strange flavor that I sometimes(rarely) notice with pork. I just haven’t figured out the exact cause. Service is decent and they give you a little korean yogurt drink at the end of your meal.

I went looking forward to trying something new and different from the usual Korean fare. I went in knowing it was a soup/stew specialty place so the menu didn’t surprise me. I forgot the name but I ordered pork soup but they also bring out some boiled pork on a plate($ 13). The plate meat had the typical pork slices but half the plate was something that seemed like tongue. The waitress said«meat» but I guess that there’s definition. I personally don’t like tongue. We also got the bulgogi stew(forget the name). It was the saltiest I’ve ever had in my entire life and for the small bowl and portion $ 13 was too high. Their side dishes are limited to kimchi and radish with cabbage and peppers to dip in the hot sauce. I would have like some more variety in the sides. The place is pretty large and they have tables and booths. The place looks pretty new and was well maintained. The service was below average. They were understaffed so we had to wait for everything. This place isn’t my thing but maybe I need to order something better.

A friend actually recommended this place, and I didn’t even know where it was. But she said it was great for soups, and that was what I was craving so it was just right up my alley. The thing that I ordered which was unique was the dumpling tofu soup but with ramen. They have the knife-cut noodles as an option as well, but the waiter recommended ramen because I wasn’t too hungry, and it was a «lighter» option. Anyways let’s continue: — — – Dumpling tofu soup with ramen PROS –super filling: even for a light eater, the ramen was great –great flavors: you can tell that they took a long time with the soup. It was savory but not too salty. –clean and healthy feeling: not too oil CONS –only four dumplings: supersized — so I don’t like the fact that it was super large dumplings. I like smaller dumplings. –dumplings were overcooked: it was really easy for the dumpling meat to break out of the skin and then you end up with a mouth full of dough, not that it wasn’t good, but sometimes I like to bite into my(dumpling). I really liked this soup overall. I think the only thing that I don’t like is that there were only four dumplings and they were supersized. But all in all, it really hit the spot. I’d try to come back and give the other things a go. Truthfully, you can’t just try one restaurant and if it doesn’t work out, totally write them off. I’d say at least a second time and if they suck then well at least you can’t blame it on coincidence right? Thankfully I got a good meal my first time around!

Not sure how it got all the good reviews from the elites. Or they were just off when my friends and I were there. They did get lots of Korean customers so it is supposed to be good(?). Sadly, that was simply not the case for us(Chinese and Caucasians). So taste wise I guess it could be a preference thing. But there are def a few problems. First, the waitresses can barely speak or understand English which makes ordering difficult. One of them also just walked off once in the middle of a conversation. She did come back but it was just rude IMHO. Second, the king size STEAMED dumplings were COLDINSIDE when they brought to us. Took two mins to make them understand it is cold inside and get it sent back to the kitchen to heat up. Well, that also says they don’t make it to order and who knows how long it has been sitting in the refrigerator or even worse, out there somewhere. They gave us four items as the Banchan. The KIMCHEEWASOFF. And we didn’t bother to try the other two items. Scallion seafood pancake was way too oily and saggy. We had the same item at Jang Su Jang before, and that was 5 times better in comparison. Also had the braised rib hot pot. Was spicy but not weirdly not tasty. While this could be our personal preference, the ribs were tough. Well, we gave it a try and are not going again. Plus, it seems to be more pricey than Jang Su Jang, which wasn’t cheap to start with.

If you’re looking for a clean no-fuss Korean restaurant you’ll enjoy eating here. We only ordered the Spicy Galbijjim(under peer pressure) and it was enough food for 3 girls to share. First, I don’t do well with super spicy foods and Second, I don’t like cheese. So, with that being disclosed, the galbijjim is extremely spicy with grated mozzarella cheese on top. Although, we ordered without cheese, man this was spicy to the point where I was sweating bullets(first time ever!) with every bite. I was constantly gulping down cold water while my friend was happily enjoying every hot bite of it(she’s a soulja — read her review) Needless to say, I had stomach pains for the next 2 days… definitely take some antacid before/after. Came on a Friday night and was not busy at all, the service was quick, and servers were very friendly. Spicy food lovers have to try this place out! They play 90s k-pop!

I’m a fan of their steamed dumplings! There is four per order and they are huge, very filled and overall delicious! Their Naengmyeon was delicious and refreshing! Naengmyeon are Korean cold noodles! If you’d like to try something new and refreshing, I highly suggest giving this a try! I was so hungry at the time that I didn’t get a chance to take a picture: D One serving is certainly enough if you are hungry ;) The only downside is that they are a bit more expensive than some other Korean restaurants for this kind of cuisine, but it was delicious :) I’d certainly come back again to try some of their other dishes!

My go to place in Duluth if I’m craving legit Korean food. I only discovered it maybe 8 months ago! Parking is good. They have a huge lot, but keep in mind, DSB shares it with Honey Pig, MJ Tacos, and etc. It can get packed, but I feel like people tend to leave randomly so you’ll probably find a spot after driving around for 5 mins. Space & Service — Whenever I go, I never wait. I’d say the entire area is medium-ish. Great place for an alone night, 2 people, and a maybe a party of 6. It’s not cramped at all. The service here is really good. The ladies are very attentive and are on top of things. Food: I really like their banchan. Some of the items remind me of my lunches/dinners with my parents. Very different than your typical Korean items. Kimchi Jigae is pretty good here. Very spicy. I had to drink like 4 cups of water. But the stew itself tastes great and all ingredients added go well together. Not as many ingredients as Yet Tuh and a little bit more $, but the Korean touch is there. Nomnom. Hot Tofu and Kimchi — Sheesh, you can share this with like 4 people. My bf and I had no idea it’d be a huge app. The lady didn’t warn us. The Tofu wasn’t grilled, just. heated up. It tasted good with soy sauce and the Kimchi. I was kind of afraid the Kimchi would be too sour, but nope. It was my favorite type — ripened perfectly. Ddukgook — I hate mandu, so I always only order Ddukgood when I can. This dish is huge. I gave up after ¾ in. I liked it. Reminded me of my mom’s new year’s day cooking. {keep in mind I rarely eat this}. So I have no complaints. Make sure you add Kimchi to this when you’re eating! Will give a nice semi spicy flair.

Don Soo Baek is a simple and clean Korean restaurant that mainly serves pork related menus. The restaurant’s name basically means«eating good pork will let you live ’till 100 years old». I usually come here when I’m in the mood for some hearty soup but not craving Sul-Lung Tang. My go-to menu is here is pork soup. Soup contains various cuts of pork and it comes out with simple side dishes such as kimchi, radish kimchi, lettuce, pepper, etc. Soup is really hearty and savory and it contains good amount of meat compared to sul-lung-tangs. Rather than salt, you season your soup with leek and small salted shrimps to your liking. Staff is also very friendly here.

My go-to restaurant whenever I’m craving dakdoritang(spicy korean chicken stew) Do keep in mind that it’s pretty spicy. It’s a nice, clean place. I’ve never had a problem with the service. their owner is such a sweet heart. I literally dined here three nights in a row the first time I tired this place. bringing someone new each time.

We took out from this place because neither of us wanted to cook but we wanted korean food and to stay home with some warm soup and watch house of cards on netflix. So we decided to try this place. I am glad we did! It was delicious! Great taste from the main pork soup dish we got, to the side dishes, to the sausage we got. It is enough for two meals(we have enough leftovers for dinner tonight). All of it was great, and the lady who took our order was very nice! I really appreciated that. The price was good, parking is plentiful here(same complex as orange café, mj tacos, honey pig, etc.). I def will be back and recommend.

When it’s cold outside(like it’s been) and we don’t want to go home smelling like Korean BBQ, SO and I opt for Don Soo Baek which he found a few months ago. I really like this place, its’ a nice, clean and pretty quiet place to grab dinner. Each time we’ve gone, there has only been a handful of other customers, but there is a TV playing in the corner so it’s not ultra-quiet there. I’ve never had an issue with service since there are the usual bells at each table that you can ring when you need something. The food is really good here! We’ve had the soon dae(sorry for any misspellings!) which is so good, the only place I usually get soon dae is Buford Hwy farmer’s market, but there’s is a hit and miss sometimes depending on who is making it. But the soon dae here has always been consistent and it’s served on a small plate with other cuts of meats and some kind of pickled radish. The first time I was here, I ordered the noodle soup which definitely is large but not my favorite. There was just too much noodle to soup ratio and by the time I slurped mid-way down my bowl, the noodles had already drank up the rest of the broth. The next time, SO suggested I get the dumpling soup which is 100% better — HOWEVER, they do serve it pretty bland and leave it up to you to season with the salt and spices on the table. I couldn’t get the taste right, so SO had to jump in and help. The menu is pretty much limited to soups and stews, so if you are looking for a Korean BBQ extravaganza, you may want to keep trucking along.

awesome hangover remedy place or if you’re in the mood for some good pork broth. I usually get the soondeh-soup combo that come with soondeh soup and a small plate of soondeh. Soondeh= korean blood sausage with clear noodles and other things that make it taste so dam good. :) The broth here is really flavorful and the soondeh is really good too. rice cake dumpling soup is also really good. When u get you soup, you do have to season it some more with some the seasoning they bring you or you may find that the soup is a bit bland. their gamja tang= spicy beef and potato soup, I hear is really good too, I’m gonna have that next time I go :) been here many times, and never left unsatisfied.

As good as advertised. We ha ms the daakdoori tang– spicy chicken soup! It was sweet and spicy and the best I have ever had. Very well done in a hot pot. We also had the Buckwheat noodles — nang myun. It was made with fresh ingredients and very flavorful. The service was prompt and courteous. Great place.

So far service has been great for me. Maybe I just pop in during odd hours and there is barely any clients. Today I ordered a traditional Korean dish call Sam gue ttang! Its based on chicken, dae chu, ginseng roots, garlic and a few more spices. This dish its cooked for hours until the broth turns whitish and the chicken meat will fall off the bones. From what I hear this dish its popular during the hot summer days! Its supposed to energize you with all the goodies that are in it! I personally like the juk(porridge) version, but this style its great too. You can use the salt and pepper thats provided to you on the side to give the meat more flavor while eating it. You don’t pour it in the hot pot but just use it on the chicken pieces that you pick off the bones, since the broth its already flavored. This dish will definitely make you feel good and I guess feel better than when you eat some junk food haha. Try it out if you are curious, if you don’t like it then its on me! Haha ummm sure.

Great place to get the pork soup, it’s not the best but probably the only place that does specialize in it in GA. I have that after taste of MSG, but it’s not so bad either.

Since it was hot outside, I didn’t opt for their soups or stews. This place is next to Emily J hair salon and near Nari, so it’s easy to find. FOOD: We started with their Hae Mul Pa Jeon which is seafood pancake. It was OK, not the best I’ve had. I got their Neng Myun which is thin buckwheat noodle in cold broth. It was very tasty but super cold, so I took out the ice cubes. Overall, the meal was good but service sucks!

I discovered a new restaurant! It’s located in the same plaza as Honey Pig in Duluth called Don Soo Baek It specializes in Korean soups and stews. I had their dak dori ttang(Korean spicy chicken stew). Consuming the stew reminded me of my Korean mom’s dak dori ttang which is a good thing because this was made from scratch. The portions they serve are generous enough that you might be feeling very stuffed afterwards. And beware of the spiciness of it, it has a punch and kick to it that you might be working up a sweat.
