First things first: I am half-Japanese and grew up in Chamblee. That does not mean I am therefore well versed in all Oriental cuisines. LA Phở is a good example of that. I was in the area and landed here, went in, and was promptly and courteously greeted and seated. I ordered Phở Tai at $ 6.50(beef eye of round), and it was whisked immediately to my table, along with sliced onions, raw bean sprouts, and jalapeño slices. The broth was not robust but not weak either. No oiliness, no MSG aftershock. By judicious use of the condiment carrel on my table, I adjusted everything to my liking and dove in. Authentic? Couldn’t tell you. Tasty? Yessir. I left happy, but interested in checking out other places to compare this to.

Like Michael L. said in his review, with What The Phở? and Saigon nearby,(and Buford Hwy. joints minutes down the highway) it’s hard for me to recommend this place. The phở… isn’t amazing but it’s not completely inedible. It’s below par for sure though. It lacked the depth, aroma and flavor that the broth should have and I had trouble saving the bowl even with condiments and greens. There’s two things that really pissed me off at this place: the service and the make your own springrolls. First of all, the waiter/waitresses are texting/making calls on their cell phones which is a definite fail in my books and the create-your own springroll is overpriced. You get 3 pieces of shrimp — halved so it’s 6 and you must order more a la carte if you want more. The price for 6 halved shrimp? A ridiculous $ 3 — 4. I know times are tough right now and people are being tight but you’re ripping off customers. I will not stand for restaurants overcharging customers when their food doesn’t justify the prices they’re charging. Skip this place and go somewhere else. If you’re really craving phở — drive 10 minutes further to Buford Hwy for a satisfying experience.

We’ve been here twice and the phở is not so bad but the service is HORRIBLE. We ordered fried rolls both times with our meals and the rolls literally came after we were done eating. BOTH times. As soon as we entered the second time, we were horrified at the mess a table of 12 left behind. What drove me even more crazy is that there were 2 servers there NOTDOINGANYTHINGABOUTIT.- JUst yapping away in the back. We entered and exited the restaurant and the HUGE mess was right next to us the whole time. I couldnt believe it. I wish I had taken a picture. It made our eating experience absolutely unbearable.

I think people who are scared of that je né sais quoi nemesis«cilantro» will like this place. Ordered phở and rice dishes. Both were quite good. Phở had different noodles, Koreanized no doubt; the broth was very light and not oily. Rice with broiled pork was good, not great. When I went there were only Koreans in the restaurant. Maybe because the restaurant is Korean-owned in a Korean plaza…
