Visited the place based on Unilocal reviews. Very hospitable family — and the food was terrific. Very New York, Brooklyn style. Decent pricing and good choice of entrees. They have a brick oven and their flatbread was simply delicious. Wine selection was decent and modestly priced. Will go there again.

Best Italian food since Italy!!! They have a brick oven, so pizza is authentically delicious. The penne a la vodka is to DIEFOR! Chicken stuffed shells was, according to my husband, like banging a 1968 hot Italian model, in 1968… foodgasm, he said. Sealed the deal with a scrumptious tiramisu. The service was top notch. Ambiance: classic Italian music, cozy layout, they even have a pizza bar! We will definitely be coming back!!!

This is my first review on Unilocal. The food was that good!!! I would recommend the food here without reservation. The owner frank was by our table many times to help with recommendations and suggestions. Best Italian food that I have had. They take pride in preparing and providing, all to ensure an outstanding dinning event.

Roma has the best Italian food in the area! We’re so happy to have an authentic Italian eatery in the area. It’s all about the sauce with Italian food & this place nails it! The Owner is always working & on-site, he takes this business very seriously. He’s committed to his restaurant & it shows. Keep up the amazing work & the great food. Our family loves Roma!

Food was good. Owner is always on site and visits you at your table. Family owned so the people who wait on your table are family also. Clean and nice ambiance too.

Excellent experience for my husband and me. It’s relatively quiet, so a family of loud children might not have worked, which is why we didn’t bring them along. However, the pizza!!! The PIZZA!!! You won’t be disappointed. They locally source or hand make everything!

Food: 5 stars Décor: 4 stars Service: 4 stars We have enjoyed our meals here. The garlic knots are tasty, and the marinara is very flavorful. They were serving a tomato basil soup as a special on our last visit and it was fantastic — if it is available I would definitely snap that up. We also enjoyed the baked ziti and the chicken marsala. The décor is nothing fancy — it is pretty sparse. The pro about that is that you can be comfortable in casual dress. Everything was clean which is the most important factor. Our servers have been extremely nice and helpful in describing menu items, but it takes a long time to cycle through the ordering process, which is why I give that component 4 stars.

Wonderful food and service. We had mussels, lobster ravioli, and the margarita pizza. The house wine is sooo good! Ask for Dennis. Great waiter.

Authentic reciepes served in large portions. This place deserves your business if you’re tired of the corporate Italian fare and within a reasonable drive.

Service: I ordered take out and went in to pick up the order. Stood at host stand… I would have gone straight to the bartender but he was talking to patrons at the bar and i didn’t want to assume that’s where to go because i went to another restaurant and take out person wasn’t the bartender(yeah. weird). A young man took some menus and walked straight past me and added them to the stack behind the host stand by the door where I was standing and then went back to the restaurant area… WTF. Ok granted i was wearing sweat pants but i didn’t look homeless. Even if i WASINDEEDHOMELESS… still talk to the homeless person and kick them out(lol)… wait… is that legal? At that point, i walked to the bartender by the register where said gentleman that ignored me and him were having a conversation and told them i was called and was picking up take out order. «Dude that ignored me» — yes i shall call him that from now on gave me the receipt, i paid signed and was thinking if i should check the food cos i would be DOUBLE pissed if they messed up the order and i had to go back when the bartender gave me a receipt and i showed him the signed slip. Not sure how he missed the part where«Dude that ignored me» was ringing me up? *insert confused meme*. At that point, I just said«eff it» at left. Now to the food: I ordered the Frutta Di Mare Alla Romano without clams while my husband ordered Chicken Florentino. He initially ordered salad but we called back to remove that because he felt like it was a lot for salad. I wish they offered side salad for less but alas, they don’t. My food was good and the linguine was cooked al dente… i hate soft mushy pasta. That’s why i bumped it up to 2 stars. The garlic knots? My gawd! Amazing!!! Husband said his food was ok but it seemed like they used Marsala sauce. I would really love to give them another shot. My in-laws had great things to say about Roma and of course the Unilocal reviews mostly looked good. We will try again but it will be dine in.

Some colleagues and I ventured to this place because we wanted some good Italian food. Our first option had no parking so we made the 2-mile trek to this place. It was a Monday night – the place was dead. However, we sauntered in anyway, stomachs rumbling with the anticipation of a good meal; mouths salivating over the good wine and hearty pasta dish we’d likely order. We weren’t too disappointed. My colleagues enjoyed their meals. Mine was okay – I ordered the baked ziti, which I’ve had before, but geez it was so heavy and there almost more cheese than pasta and sauce. Nevertheless, I ate about half of it. Their garlic knots, on the other hand, OUTOFTHISWORLD good. The homemade marinara sauce was fantastic; sprinkle some roasted red pepper flakes on top and it was perfect. For dessert, we split an order of the pistacchio gelato and some connoli. Both were pretty delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, albeit quite cold, the service was really great, and we were greeted by the owner with whom we had a lovely chat about his moving here from Brooklyn and wanting to stay in the South. It was a family atmosphere, and we all enjoyed it. Why 4⁄5 stars? The overall meal didn’t wow, but I’d likely return.

Great experience here tonight with the wifey. We both had the Chianti red wine. I had the lasagne. If an Italian restaurant can’t do a good lasagne, there’s no reason to try anything further, in my opinion. ROMA did a great job with their lasagne and I’m ready to try other dishes next time we go. Wiley’s veal picatta was excellent too. We’ll definitely be back.

First visit. Frank the owner is from Sicily by way of Brooklyn. Very fresh ingredients, very good presentation, great service. Added bonuses are a real wood-burning stove for pizza, ANDPERONIONTAP. We will be back for sure.

I thought I would give this place a try because my mom was craving pasta, and in the Johns Creek area there weren’t many options open for lunch. So I stumbled upon this place, seeing it had decent reviews that it would be a good dining choice. First off, we received the garlic knots before our drink orders. Which took almost 12 minutes from sitting down. After water came, we had to pretty much flag someone down to take our order. The restaurant was not busy at all, and I do understand it was a little short staffed but it’s lunch hour and you need to be prepared for that. We only had a limited hour, so we wanted to get in and out. After our drink order was taken nearly 20 minutes after being seated, our order was taken. Food came out nearly 20 minutes later… I ordered the grilled chicken fusilli, and my mom got the fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. For the price for this restaurant, it was ok. But I thought you could at least expect a side salad of some sort with your lunch entrée. To add grilled shrimp it was $ 7 and you get 5 small pieces. I got grilled chicken, and you seem to get a lot more with that. The pasta was just ok. Both very salty and mine a little bland. I had to add a ton of black pepper to really eat it. Service was so slow and there was no apology at the end. Won’t be coming back.

Brand new place, and still dealing with growing pains, but a pleasant(if not expensive) dinner last night. Frankie, the proprietor, came by on multiple occasions to check on me, and I appreciate that. So did the waiter, and that was also appreciated. I started with the lettuce wedge with blue cheese crumbles, and blue cheese dressing. I also had a 12″ pizza with Italian sausage, mushrooms, and black olives. I needed more dressing on the salad, and the pizza toppings were a little scarce. The place looked a little too sterile for an upscale Italian bistro… looked more like a cafeteria at a retirement home. But the one flat screen TV was on and I enjoyed watching the news regardless. What really got my goat was the host asking to see my driver’s license to make sure I was over 18. MAN that really pisses me off when they do that… and I was about 1 second away from getting up and walking out. However, I relented and showed the young man my DL, and then got my pint of Yuengling. But hell, I’m obviously well into my 50s, and this was the only Georgia restaurant that has EVER asked me for my ID(at least since I’ve been here on a project since March,) so I know it is not State policy. And to that nosy lady who sat next to me and made a comment about my protestations, you don’t look a day over 90! :-P Anyway, I had a average dinner, yet paying $ 18.00 for a three-topping pizza was a little too much. Probably won’t be going back anytime soon. Nothing to really write home about here.

Pros: Nice atmosphere, clean, nice menu, owner(Frankie) is very nice, attentive service, awesome homemade marinara, nice portions for the $ and 6 beers on tap. Cons: Wine menu is very small Overall, my food was awesome. The reason this is review is not 5 stars: Frankie, when people are paying $ 12-$ 20 for a nice Italian meal, you gotta include a salad. People, including me, LOVE the salad part of dining in Italian. Charging $ 7 for a salad with my dinner is crazy. Add a salad to all entrees man… then I will change my review to 5 stars!

Delicious, Homestyle, Hearty Eats here. I actually ordered stromboli and a cannoli for takeout but the guy at the front magically turned the cannoli it into a calzone instead. lol it’s ok, I actually don’t mind but I will come back for that cannoli next time, I guess. Both are delicious, good hearty portions, robust and flavorful. The stromboli has the perfect amount of melted cheese, smaller than most stromboli’s, but really the taste makes up for anything else. The marinara sauce on the side is so good too. The calzone has an abundance of ricotta and is also just hearty and rich. Definitely going to order through this menu and try more of their offerings. If I make it through the list and they are consistent, I will update with 5 stars, 4 stars bc my order was scrambled(5 star is for impeccable service too, right?) and bc I haven’t tried the menu yet — I gotta say tho, the taste is great here. I hope to be able to update this place soon, YUM!

My wife saw the review of this restaurant in the Gwinnett Daily Post, so we tried it out for lunch on Saturday. We’ll probably need to go back to get a fuller perspective, as I wasn’t up for pasta at the time However, here is the review base don what we ordered. First, service was very good. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. We got some fried zucchini as an appetizer. Their version is short sticks, batter-fried. These were quite good, especially with the marina sauce(which tasted quite fresh; just the right amount of basil too). The only suggestion would be to offer some ranch-type dressing as an alternative, but the marinara was so good they can probably get by as-is. I just had a garden salad, but it was loaded with ingredients. I managed to finish it, but only just. My wife had a salmon dish; she liked the salmon okay, but liked the side dishes(mashed potatoes + asparagus) even more. The wine selection seemed a bit limited, but the Pinot Grigio I got was good. They just opened, so maybe they are still working out the wines. I noted that they had a brick oven in the corner of the dinging room and a large stack of firewood on one end of their patio; I meant to ask if that was more decorative or if it was a usable pizza oven. My only worry is that this location has seen constant turn-over for literally 15+ years. It has probably been at least 3 — 4 iterations of restaurants since we last ate there, but from what we saw Roma at least has a decent chance to break the streak. I think we’ll be back to try more; I will update the rating once we try some additional dishes. Recommended.
