I used to LOVE this place! As soon as management changed, so did everything about it. The food and the service is no longer any good. I’m so very disappointed, because place was a favorite of mine. Please bring back the old Steverinos!

Went here on a nice Saturday so we could sit outside. Place is cute. Workers were friendly. Having to order at the counter goofy, but can live with it. We got a meatball sub with fries and a house sub with a fruit cup. Meatball sub very so so, and cold sauce. Fries ok. House sub a joke. Not good at all. Toppings very weak. Nothing but oil and more oil. The fruit cup was literally a tiny ramekin filled with canned pineapple. Had 2 beers. That was 26 dollars. I don’t mind the price but for the scrawny subs and crappy sides over priced. I will probably try the pizza someday, but disappointing in general.

The pizza was weak. The cheese and meats were bland had virtually no flavor to it a all. On top of that the crust go my calzone is burnt on the bottom to often. I’m pretty sure I won’t pay that price for the quality again.

Terrible. I’m a local and this used to be a great restaurant for downtown Duluth, fun atmosphere with delicious foods of all sorts. My high school friends and I went back tonight and were extremely disappointed to find the decline of service and food. New management has definitely caused the small town charm and quality of this once quaint joint to disappear.

Stopped in here for a business lunch and it’s a decent Italian place. Went with the Stromboli which sounded really great with ham, sausage and ground beef. The presentation is really nice with lattice work top to it and the color of the outer shell was perfect. However the flavor was lacking. Didn’t even really taste any sausage, the ham really doesn’t have much flavor and overall, it was a pretty bland stromboli. Could have used more flavor from all the ingredients. Seems a decent place for lunch if you’re in the area and want something quick. People in line seemed to like the pizzas.

I had really high hopes for this place. Love supporting local businesses and always looking for new places to dine. But this staff is on another level when it comes to incompetence. Saturday night dine in, went early because we wanted to beat the crowd. Took us more than an hour to get our food. That’s okay, we’re flexible. But it went wrong when the cashier told us they had no lettuce for a salad we wanted to order, no dough for garlic knots, and no wings at all. Told us one at a time after we had placed an order and paid. How does a small business and front of the house not know that certain dishes are out before a customer orders and PAYS — 3 times? An hour later we get our food, no apologies and it’s the wrong pizza. They tell us that this small Margherita pizza is our large meat combo. When we get that figured out, our«large» pizza was so thin and stretched out that we understood what they were trying to do with the low mount of dough they had. They also bring out wrong beers… Recommendation don’t even bother unless you’re looking for meh pizza, small sizes, bad service and time wasted. I was so aggravated by the end of the meal that I couldn’t wait to leave. Never going back!

We were here for the Duluth fall festival and grabbed lunch here. It was pretty good. No as good as it once was before the change of management but decent. Fast service and friendly. Stays busy. Try it out. It’s not terrible

Not worth the time. Small pizza joint. Service is fine, you basically order and they bring to table. Fine. Ordered margarita pizza. Basically you have a dominant tomato flavor with bread. Its like ordering dough with tomato dipping sauce. Beer is pricey at 5.50 per bottle of Corona. Expected cheaper at a place like this. Wedge salad was really good with fresh bacon bits. Not enough for a return visit. Too many pizza places to spend $$$ here.

Food truck Friday wasn’t working for us so we popped into Steverinos. Being from Boston, chain pizza joints don’t cut it. This place was some of the best pizza I have had. The wings and fried pickles were great. The pickles were dill spears and had a hearty bite to them. The lemon pepper wings were some of the best I have had as well– actually tasted lemon and pepper The pizza had an amazing crust — chewy with a nice golden bake. The sauce was excellent — not a heavy sauce. would have liked more cheese. Sat outside on a crazy Friday night and enjoyed our experience

Nice pizza place. It wasn’t my favorite style but it was good, and the prices were okay. It was a little small but the location was great, right in downtown Duluth.

This pizza is way over priced. We got an x-large cheese pizza and with tip it was over $ 20! And it only had 8 slices. The crust is super thin and had some holes in it. Very greasy, and way too much cheese for such a thin crust. I’ve been there several times but this was my last.

For anyone that hasn’t been able to call the restaurant recently, they are having serious problems with a newly installed phone system. I really love this restaurant. I’ve tried most of the items on their menu over the last 8 years and like it all. I just recently learned that they have started offering delivery, which is the only thing Steverino’s was missing, IMO. The atmosphere is nicely varied from the old brick walls in the main rooms, to the cozy front deck, to the grassy rear patio. Plus the name brings back great memories from the college years in Athens.

I really want to like this place because it’s one of the few places to eat on the Duluth square. But the service is so slow. The staff is friendly, but not really helpful. The pizza is okay, but not worth the wait. This final time we went, we placed an order to go. Forty minutes later I was still waiting for my pizza while trying to wrangle a hungry toddler. The staff didn’t tell us the kitchen was behind when we ordered, or offer to take our number and call, or give us anything to munch on during the long wait. There were also way too many employees running around for service to be so bad. They were more focused on each other than the customers. In reading other reviews, I see the management has changed hands which probably explains a lot; it used to be better. It’s an okay place, just not worth it.

We combed the menu and attempted to order certain items only to be told they didn’t have them anymore they were in the process of revamping their menu. We try to support our local businesses. But, it sure gets difficult to do that when you walk into the formerly friendly, cheerful, upbeat locally owner pizzeria and pay $ 56.39 for the following: 1 order of cheese fries, 1 small garden salad, 1 large garden salad 2 fountain drinks, 2 hamburgers, 2 beers. I asked the server directly if there was a new owner of the restaurant, she said no just new management. There is no way new management has run that business into the ground. If it is management the owner needs to get them out of there. I have a feeling that the Hispanic woman who walked the restaurant is the new owner she was watching everything and everyone We were dumbfounded at the tab. We could have eaten at Longhorn’s for that amount of money, had better service, better atmosphere and left feeling like we got our money’s worth. My husbands tab alone was $ 31 for just him. The waitress brought a large salad for our daughter and we told her we had wanted a small and she said«just eat this and I will charge you for the small.’ We got the bill and she had charged us full price for the large salad. We used to walk in here, order at the counter, they knew our daughter and automatically asked if she wanted her usual salad. The upbeat staff was always working hard, laughing and enjoying the music and taking care of the customers. Not anymore… The place was empty inside. We were the only table and now we know why. We will never go back, never. The food was horrible, atmosphere horrible, staff seemed bored clearly not their fault when they have no customers. Please, please if the original owner or current owner is reading this bring back the Steverino’s we used to love and visit a couple of times a week. Otherwise, close up and give someone else a shot at earning our business and giving somewhere for the Duluth faithful to eat. We have nowhere decent to dine at anymore.

I’ve never had bad pizza, but this pizza is just the worse I’ve ever had. And for the price it should have been a lot better. I ordered pepperoni and Italian sausage. And somehow ended up with onions on my pizza. So I was really done at that point. I can’t even describe the taste of this pizza. I also ordered fried pickles, they’re the only reason I’m giving two stars. They were delicious and big. And my sweet tea was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like it has been sitting all day, just awful. Oh they offer free wifi, but it doesn’t even work.

TOUROFDULUTH,(PIZZA) My husband and I were taking a tour of Duluth and this was a cute little place that we thought would be perfect for dinner. After doing a little shopping we stopped in to get a little information. I’m excited because they have a white pizza and a cute little patio. This is the perfect evening for eating outside. We are directed to the patio and it is perfect because we are the only ones there. We sit and sit. No one comes to deliver, menus or water. My husband is hungry and we really don’t like to be disregarded and kept waiting especially when there are only three occupied tables inside and workers are just hanging out. So unfortunately we left without being able to sample the pizza or other options. Obviously customer service needs work. We would be willing to try again but it would have to be take out by the slice,(if customer service is this poor, I am skeptical about their actual food). Also, based on existing reviews, it is probably not a good idea to invest in an entire pizza. It is so sad that with such limited eating options in the area, this is one of the choices. Not recommended if you actually want to eat. Downtown Duluth deserves better!

Went here yesterday and what experience ! Upon ordering their computer system went down. No biggie. Ordered a 14 inch pie with mushroom and Pepperoni. I really like the inner décor and I ppl that worked there are really friendly. Unfortunately it took 50 mins for the pizza to come out. Place didn’t seem busy with only 2 other person eating at a table. I couldn’t wait any longer so I requested a refund and they were polite gave it back to me without any hassle. They were very professional and I respect that. I can’t say if the pizza was good or bad. One thing I can say that somebody dropped the ball for a 14 inch pizza to take 50 plus minute to come out of the oven. Probably won’t be back.

I just finished a meeting at the coffee shop down the street, so I walked over here to grab a quick bite. The service was great, very friendly people, everyone seemed happy to be working here. Always a good restaurant when the vibe is nice. I ordered the small pizza. It was pretty standard, came out nice & hot. Just your normal pizza, nothing really unique about it. What I didn’t like was the price. It was $ 8 and didn’t really seem like a good value. Considering pizza chains usually offer a medium/large for about this price. If the price was lower, I’d bump this to 4 stars — in any case, its a good place to grab a quick bite if you are in the area. I would return because the service was so friendly and nice. If the price/value changes, I would bump this to 4 stars.

Jose O. and I came here for the Suwanee/Duluth Area Lunch UYE. This is the kind of place you order at the counter and they give you a number. I ordered 2 slices of pizza; a plain cheese and then one with prosciutto and garlic. I’ve never seen prosciutto as a pizza topping so I was intrigued. The pizza arrived after about 10 minutes and I was a little disappointed. After having seen the picture on Unilocal of a big thick crust, it was sad to get slices that frankly looked completely different. I wonder if this is because it is by the slice vs. a whole pie. Either way, my pizza wasn’t that great. There wasn’t a whole lot of sauce and well. it was just nothing special. The toppings, however, tasted fresh and good. I really wish I would have remembered about my afternoon meetings when I ordered GARLIC as a topping! The people working the restaurant were friendly enough. The girl who took my order was quick and efficient, and we were welcomed by a manager. This place looks like a great location to come hang out and chill with friends after work. The menu is cheap enough that over time, you could probably try several options and find something that suits you. They have trivia on Thursdays and a fantastic outdoor patio, which earns them another star.

Over the past 2 years, my oldest nephew would ALWAYS call my mom and ask her if she wants to come to Steverino’s. 99% of the time, she would. I never made it, but would always take the leftovers. And for leftovers, it was decent. Once a month(usually the first or second Tuesday), they have special nights here where a percentage of the proceeds go back to my nephew’s school. Two weeks ago, my mom was out of town, so it was my turn. And I brought 2 vultures with me. The first thing I noticed about the place– great location– right in the middle of downtown Duluth. It has that rustic outside feel, and the brick wall gig inside. You go up, order at the counter, and they will bring your food to you. I also like the large, wooden tables too– great for arm wrestling. There are 2 – 3 tvs throughout as well. For drinks, they serve beer, wine, and coke products– coke with free refills. I started off with a meat calzone, 10 wings, and a pitcher of yuengling– so much for supporting«Christian Beginnings»(just remember, my alcoholism helped fund proceeds). Everything was made to order, as it took a few minutes, but when it came out, it sure was tasty! Even the wings were big and juicy. It was so good, that my buddies and i ordered another large pizza and ate it there. Yes we got dirty looks, but whatever. I like the crust on the pizza, as it was thinner, and slightly sweeter. The sugars from the meats helped sweeten the deal– nothing like a meat lovers for your dessert :) I noticed in the back, there was a door where kids could go outside and play on the lawn– I thought that was cool! So that seemed that everyone was letting their kids run outside while they stayed inside. They also have a patio on the side– but I did not make it out there. Duluth has come a long way reinvigorating its downtown, and adding Steverino’s to the mix was a solid choice. Will definitely have to go back!
