Sugar Salon

Really blown away by the wonderful people and great service at this salon! As a natural girl, I’ve been hesitant about getting my hair done (since there aren’t a lot of GOOD salons that do natural hair well at an affordable price) but I needed a protective style for the winter.
Every step of the process dealing with Sugar Salon was pleasant. First, I stopped by the salon a few months ago to check it out and the owner was there to answer all my questions and explain all her services. I walked away feeling positive it was going to be a good place to get my hair done.
Then, when I called to make the reservation the receptionist was smart and polite and accommodating. When I came in for my appointment, I found all the stylists were professional and focused enough on their clients enough to not be working on multiple clients at once — I HATE when stylists work on more than one person at a time. The stylists all seemed to work diligently and the men and women walking out of this place looked amazing!!! Plus each and everyone of the stylists acknowledged me at some point during my time at the salon – that’s just good manners and is a reflection on the owner’s high standard of service from her stylists. The conversation between the stylists was cordial and full of good vibes— I also HATE when stylists are screaming back and forth between each other, or when you can feel tension between them, or when they’re talking about something ratchet while you’re just trying to get pampered.
The salon seemed to be in good condition too. Not too messy and seemed to be orderly.
Kenya did my braids and really did a wonderful job!!! I get so many compliments and she really gave me what I asked for. Plus, she had me done in a few hours, rather than the full day I was expecting.
Overall, this is a wonderful place to go and I plan on making this place a regular part of my hair care routine. They seem to do everything and the prices were reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend Sugar Salon and will definitely be back soon!!!

SISTAHS, WHATEVER YOU NEED THEY GOT YOU!
Three years ago I decided that I would go natural because I wanted healthier hair and I was tired of spending hours in the salon each time I needed a service. So it has been more than three years since I have been in a salon. I looked this salon up randomly and chose it because they had natural hair stylists and because it was relatively close to me.
THE SALON
The salon is simple but comfortable. It is staffed with mature women who carry themselves in a very professional manner, (no loud or crude conversations, no gossip or other shenanigans). They offer a variety of services and while I was there, I witnessed a weave install, a young girl getting braids, a cute short style which was perfect for the corporate environment and of course a simple straighten and bump, (our choice). It was very relaxing and a nice environment for the entire family, (including the guys).
THE SERVICE
My daughter and I arrived for our appointments and she was taken right away. Within fifteen minutes I too was being serviced. The process was very expeditious because Ms. Ebony the assistant started us (comb out wash, steam treatment, blow dry) and Ms. Amaris took over to complete the styling. As she is preparing my hair, I am cognizant of everything! I’m taking note of product being spritzed on my hair, I’m noticing the soft effects of the blow dryer, the ease and flow of the straightener, the number of passes and more. Okay, I’m good. I can relax now and just let her do her job. She did a great job on our hair and we were very pleased. We were both impressed by the fact that we were both done within an hour and a half. This blew our minds because when we had relaxers, we would spend as much as six hours in the salon.
We both expect to return in the future and definitely recommend this salon to others.

Mrs. Williams is a master guru stylist! New to the area/​state and no one else will be doing my hair as long as I live in Georgia. She’s professional, welcoming, she explained everything including charges before my appointment & she knows how to do the thang!

I had my hair done by Mrs. Williams the owner of Sugar Salon today. My appointment was at 10:00 am… I was sitting in her chair at 10:00 am. There was no wait & she doesn’t over book clients. Which has become the norm for a lot of salons. She was very patient when I asked questions and cared about the health of my natural hair. Plus a shampoo is included in the price for the crotchet braids. My hair turned out fabulous. The salon is very clean and neat. The staff is courteous and friendly. Most importantly they care about the health of your natural hair!

I love sugar salon. I get amazing service everytime i go. I rock natural hair and the ladies are very nice and gentle when dealing with it. With it being so hot and humid i try to stay in protective styles all summer. These women work magic! I leaving looking fabulous and stay that way for at minimum 2 weeks. Mrs Williams knows I’m a loyal client and is very kind to me about scheduling my appointments. I have such limited availability but she finds a way to accommodate me. I’ll keep coming back.

I love this salon they are so professional owner Ms Williams such an humble person. They get you in and out in a very timely matter. Been going there about a year now each visit has been very satisfying when Ms Williams see you she greet you right away «hey girl» make you feel right at home. I try going every 2 – 3 weeks since Ms Williams started doing my hair it is so healthy. She is very good with natural hair I just love this place! I would recommend sugar salon to all!

Just had my first appointment with Ms. Williams at Sugar Salon… Very professional, on time, friendly and she knew exactly what I wanted… Extra bonus she is open on Sundays… Loved the experience and will def be back !!!

This was my go-​to spot when I wore weaves. They do all types of hair in here: naturals, weaves, wigs, braids, formal hair, etc. I was a regular and then decided to big chop. I will never forget how I was treated when I came into the salon asking for my cut. Amaris was my stylist for nearly a year, she laughed and ostracized me for my choice. Mind you this place lauds itself on natural hair. The owner stood nearby and looked embarrassed but said nothing as Amaris and English went on LOUDLY about how they’d «nevah EVAH» big chop their hair. There is some impeccable shade I could throw at both ladies but I will take the high road as I did that day I went for a big chop and instead received a BALD FADE from Amaris instead.
That was two summers ago. A year and a huge fro later I am happy with my choice; it was MINE before I went in there. I’m glad I no longer give this place any business.

There are no words in the dictionary to describe how great a place this is. My family and I have been going to Sugar Salon for almost five years. It feels like home every time we step in the door. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Her staff always maintain professionalism and respect with their clients. I have never been dissatisfied with how they have taken care of our hair. I am so glad that I stepped in this place years ago to get my eyebrows waxed. I would recommend anyone to stop by and see Mrs. Williams and her wonderful staff.

My name is Tamika Watkins & I came into the salon on 7÷27÷2014 the day before my birthday and you did my hair, MW. Im the lady from New York that came in with my son who was playing with your granddaughter. I didn’t get a weave, I watched from the dryer as you installed a full-​head sew-​in on another client. I received the hydro thing and a twist out on my natural hair. I didn’t receive a sealant after the hydration process and a product was used to twist my hair that left it flaky when I took the twist down. I wasn’t willing to come back there after I was sent home to finish my own hair, so making a phone call to the shop about my dissatisfaction wasn’t going to happen. Please dont be offended by my review just take it into consideration.

The Sugar Salon in Duluth is and outstanding salon of the most talented hair care professionals in the business. The atmosphere is relaxed with a positive vibe where both customers and stylists are genuinely happy to be there. I am one of their more picky clients who is there every week for the ultimate hair care experience. My ABSOLUTE favorite stylist is AMARIS who embodies a combination of young and innovative with classy and professional work ethics.
I have been to several hair salons in Atlanta with long wait times, overbookings and unprofessional stylists who don’t value my time. I am so grateful to have found Sugar Salon where my experience has always been First Class!
