I got my Lunch today from on post and it’s sooooo good. Few weeks back one of my co workers had some and the smell permeated the office and now that they’re back by the O club I had to go get me some. The mac and cheese is to die for, the baked beans are heavenly, and the pulled pork sandwich is mouth watering. I wish the cooks from my unit had been this amazing. I probably would have stayed in longer.

Jeremiah’s makes some seriously good BBQ! They do catering, but they also set up a stand outside the main gate of MCB Quantico a couple days a week(just north of the gate on Fuller Heights Rd, next to the Micky Finn Detachment), but I haven’t figured out the pattern as to when they are there, so I usually just stumble on them and get some to bring home. The three big sellers for Jeremiah’s seem to be the ribs, the pulled pork, and the beef brisket. The ribs are huge and meaty, but a bit fattier than I personally like(I like my ribs really lean for some reason). The pulled pork is delicious, and even though I usually like my pulled pork with Carolina-style vinegar sauce, his KC-style sauce is good enough that I’m not going to complain. My favorite is the beef brisket though. He gets it nice and tender, but with just enough bite to it, and with plenty of smokiness. The sauce is his own recipe and it is outstanding. It is a Kansas City style, so it is thicker and sweeter than some other sauces, but it has a nice amount of spice to balance out the sweet. The thing that really makes it unique in terms of KC-style sauces is that it seems to be thickened with corn starch or pectin rather than tomato paste, so it has a sheen more like sweet-and-sour sauce than like KC Masterpiece or Gates BBQ. Overall a great choice for BBQ if you are looking for food for an event(call them or e-mail them at ), and you would be a fool to drive by their stand without picking some up!
