Okay, so this was my first time out in Dunedin and I had a blast. We spent most of the evening out on the patio of Chickaboom Room, but eventually made our way to the dance floor at Blur. The bartenders were cool and it had a laid back atmosphere. Drinks were strong and tasty. My one complaint was the music. It was a Saturday night and there was a band playing«Purple Rain» when we walked in around 10:30pm …buzzkill, since we came with the intention of dancing. The DJ was actually worse lol, but all in all we had a good time. I plan on bringing friends to this spot next time I’m down in the Tampa Bay area

Did a little bar hopping around this venue before actually going in… Got there around 1030pm. No ID check and no cover when we went in. Backstreet boys was playing when we got there, and we immediately started jammin. There is first come/first served seating around the perimeter of the place. 2 bars, one in the front and one in the back. Drinks were good, shooters were better! Bartenders very efficient(aka not waiting for them to come to you for 10 mins). Music was a good mix of pop, hip hop, 90s music and techno mixed stuff. Me and my girlfriends went for a birthday celebration, and we are from DC. We normally listen to hip/hop and R&B, but this club satisfied what we were looking for. There are some creepers in there, but as long as you know how to swerve them, you’re good. Probably gonna go back if we return. $ 23 cab ride from Clearwater where our hotel was.

I think Caitie O. hit the nail on the head with her review. This is one of the few times where I actually have nothing to add out of what has already been posted to this business. La Chica and I rolled up in here after grabbing a slice from Tony’s across the street because the bouncers outside were practically encouraging us to do so and we had a good time. It was 45 minutes before closing, which was just enough time to throw a few back, bust a move and head home. I like the the music and the staff, and will definitely be back. That rhymed… watch out Stacy Z!

Okay, whom ever’s reading this will be the first to know I am not in Phuket(pronounced F*CKIT teehee), Thailand as I’ve been misleading everyone(except a few confidants) to believe but have semi-retired to Miami Beach & Clearwater, Fla. This has been my dream for quite some time & I finally said, «PHUKET, no time like the present!» Anyhoo, 20 years ago I fell in love with & found myself in Clearwater & Dunedin, Fla. My how times have changed! Some naysayers may complain about the economic growth but I am amazed with the progress in this area especially Dunedin! Blur & the 2 other bars it’s shares a patio with are AMAZEBALLZ! Maybe it was the warm welcome of the Drag Queen or the Vodka but I’m going back tonight for more! I had a blast! If you want NYC/SOBE style night clubs then go there a**hole! If ya want cool, unassuming atmosphere & people Blur & all the shops & bars in downtown Dunedin is your place. It doesn’t hurt if you, like myself are stumbling blocks away! As far as it being pricey, well I’ve got Blonde Hair, Big Boobs & a Winning Personality so I rarely pay for more than my first drink @ any bar I go to…

So first off it’s a great vibe BUT the music… horrendous. The DJ needs to be fired and rehired by Chuck E Cheese. His new DJ name is DJ cheesy. It feels like you’re stuck in a high school prom. Night after night how do you replay the same 25 songs over and over and over. Besides that, if you’re willing to sit outside with a group of friends and enjoy the awesome bartender, Gary, than be my guest. I almost feel like Gary would be a better DJ rather than DJ Cheesy.

Blur was meh! I know I have not been to a dance club in while. I use to live at them. It was in a totally different city with a totally diff vibe, but still. The whole idea is to forget where the hell you are, & live and breathe the kick ass music. I love some fun dance and techno music. This music, I can not even describe it, but all I could say was it sucked. I felt awkward here. Unlike every other music I hear, this music did not make me happy. I had a shot. It was pretty good. Perhaps if I had more, it would not have had mattered, but nope.

Nice place for a fun night with the girls. Centrally located in downtown Dunedin in walking distance from other bars and a bite to eat. The music is a mix of top 40’s, hip hop and even some throwbacks. If not into the loud music there is a patio on the back. The drinks are large and priced well. No cover, the only downfall is they used to have 3 drag queens on Friday now they only have one. I world prefer to pay a cover and see more queens.

Blur is always a good time. Drag queen bingo is raunchy fun. My Saturday nights in Dunedin often end up here. Friendly staff, reasonable and strong drinks and a fun and eclectic crowd! Perfect little club for Dunedin.

The quaint town of Dunedin has a decent nightlife! While the breweries and restaurants are great, if your looking for dancing, this is the spot! This«gay friendly» night club is small, but fitting for the town. It’s not unusual for the club to be packed on a Friday or Saturday. If it gets to hot dancing in the club, you can take a step out on their back patio. This tends to be a bit quieter, and you may be able to snag a table! On hot Florida nights, they also provide a large fan to keep their patrons cool. There is also a second bar out there. The back patio is open and It links to Kelly’s and the Chicaboom Room. Definitely a great place for a good time!

As we were riding biked back north drunk from the beach … We heard music somewhere. Where is it coming from ?? We stopped in and just grabbed a beer. It was like freestlye monday or something. Good mix of people. Im a huge hip hop head and its great how there are places like this. Not many in NY that are just this chill. In the middle of nowhere at that. Would/will def come back

Place was ok. The music wasn’t great. We had the crab cake appetizer looked absolutely delicious. Bit into it and it was a potato cake & crab cake sauce was a mayo and Tabasco with a little cilantro. Was disgusting and made me sick. People were nice and friendly and the staff very attentive.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years now. This is the best little club in Tampa Bay! My wife comes on Thursday’s for karaōke, and we come for the drag shows! Kelly’s is right next door for eats. Highly recommend Blur for a cool night out!

Blur was a lot of fun. It’s not the nicest or fanciest place in the world, so I can’t really give it a huge rating, and I also didn’t order any drinks, so I have no comment there. Still, I would give it 4 stars if the DJ was a bit better at his job, and so, it’s 3 stars. That said, I really don’t want that to discourage someone from checking it out. I’d go 3.5 if I could. The music was actually very good. The problem was the segues and the mixes were bad. Once you actually got into a song, it was a great danceable song(minus the NIkki Minaj, which should never be played by anyone ever again, including Nikki Minaj, the talentless hack that she is, and no, I don’t care if I spelled her name wrong). But the lead in to each song, and the mixes, were just a jumbled mess. The crowd was a big mix, young, some old, but everyone having fun. Dunedin seemed like a great small downtown to go out in, and if you’re in the area and want to dance, Blur is worth checking out. One final note, I was not there on drag queen night. This was a regular Saturday night after 10. If you’re interested in drag queen times, please read other reviews.

I’ve spent many weekend nights here bouncing back and forth between Kelly’s and Blur. Mostly, I go here cause it’s generally a good time and it’s close to home, so the convenience factor is there. There is a patio area out back, with pool tables and an outdoor bar behind the nightclub, and a ton of tables on the other patio behind Kelly’s, the restaurant part, so it’s nice to have both indoor and outdoor options here. On Friday night there’s a drag queen lip syncing show and there is also bingo and karaōke other nights during the week. Word of warning: Sometimes whichever drag queen on stage tries to tease people in the audience and pull them up into the spotlight, so if you dont want to be the next victim, hide in the back corner. As far as spending an evening here, the music is always fun and the DJs do a good job keeping the entertainment factor up. They used to charge $ 5 to get into the actual night club area, which still isn’t too bad, but as of a few weeks ago there is no charge anymore, so that’s nice. Sadly I’ve never been impressed with the drink specials here, they could definitely step that up a notch. Overall, this is a decent place to go out and have fun with some friends, but not for the«easily offended» during the drag queen performances, cause they get pretty wild ‘n crazy sometimes. Fun times!

DRAGQUEENBINGO! Need I say more? Traila Parks and Natasha Richards host this weekly event, and let me tell you, it is not for the prudish. These«girls» really do pull out all the stops to make it a fun night to be had. If you win in one of the early games, you get to spin the prize wheel which can net you anything from a «Tea bagging» to drinks on the house. We won one game and spun the wheel only to win long island ice teas! There were some awesome drink specials on Skittles and starbusts, and while they sound delicious, I didn’t have any. Some beers were very cheap as well. It was a fun evening and I look forward to becoming a regular. There is a drawback though… because it is a bar, there is smoking allowed on the inside. If you’re not a smoker, you need to be aware of this in advance.

Bingo! No longer for just for pensioners or retirees. If you like your bingo game to be like Ovaltine, then this«type» is definitely not for you. The music — great; the food — even better; the ambience — funny as all hell. The people — priceless! Will be back soon Ms. Parks! This is what happens when you call out a fake bingo.
