$ 17.60 in for a double barbecue cheeseburger, small chocolate Oreo shake, and cheese fries. It was tasty but I could’ve had a nice sitdown dinner for that price! Concession stand amenities. And it must’ve been named«better» burgers before Yaks on the five opened, lol.

This food was mediocre at best… we’re mystified as to how it got a 4.5 — star rating. The chicken strips were burnt. The burger was average. The milkshakes weren’t bad, and the fries were decent. Nothing special.

Really good burgers! Fiancé and I were passing through on the way home to San Jose on a long trip from Portland, OR and decided to stop here. The lady was super friendly, really nice and the food was yummy. The burger was hand packed by her and overall it was just delicious, just what I needed. Fiancé had the chicken tenders with fries and those were really yummy too. Not bad pricing for all of it, about 15 total, with a coke thrown in there. We sat outside across the street next to the train car on display, very peaceful, despite being so close to I-5. I’d come back for sure!

Mickey’s Better Burger is a great little diner on the roadside. Not a bad place to stop when driving through, and grab and ice cream, take a break, and walk up to the park right next door. Best burger in town in my opinion!

As we were traveling, we hopped off the freeway to go to the gas station and spyed this burger stand a couple blocks up the road. The stand is across from a little green space park with a train car on the lawn for display. The community pool is right next door. This place serves old fashion burgers, fries and frostie cones. The burger was ok and are no nonsense. The frostie hit the spot on a July summer day.

Used to go years ago with the gang(the MOB) from Cave Springs and we would get the Frostie. We called it the Frostie Freeze but I guess it was Don’s back then. Well it is still good after 40 years! Just went again and reunited with some of the same gang and we ate the burgers inside. Delicious! And the owner could not have been nicer to us!

Jumped off the highway for some food after camping! GREATBURGERS, DIPPEDCONESANDGREASYFRENCHFRIES. I love a good burger that is no fuss, and what a burger should be… tasty, and naughty! Wish I lived closer… that hit the spot! Mission accomplished!

If passing by this is a MUST quick stop. I got a blueberry cheesecake cone and my tummy was very happy! SOGOOD(: honestly that’s all I ate there to review, the reason for the 5 stars is mostly because how awesome this location is. It’s right next to a old community pool. Felt like I was in the movie the sandlot… perfect for a Nice hot sunny day and before they even handed me my cone it was starting to melt. No worries though because my cone was quickly inhaled. Stop and eat your food by the pool at the picnic table and watch some kids do belly flops off the diving board! If I get the chance I’ll stop by mickis for sure!

Remember when you were a kid — that kinda nice snack stand that was next to/near the community pool? Well, that’s Micki’s. Except Micki is a heck of a lot nicer than I remember those people being, with better food. Saw this off the highway, as we were coming down from Weed. Only had the tater tots, as my stomach was still not happy with me after the previous night’s dinner. The tots were good — great texture — and after Micki heard about my stomach upset, gave me a little bit of a vanilla frosty to help settle my stomach. Tasty! And helped. So — nice owner, good food. I’ll certainly remember it the next time we come driving through the area and need food.

Great homestyle burgers. Easy on the wallet. Friendly service. A much better choice than stopping at one of the fast food chains along I-5.

DIPPEDCONESANDGREASYFRENCHFRIES. YAYYYY! They also have a soft serve that looks like tie-dye…haven’t tried it yet but it looks pretty cool.

Better burgers is right! They have the best tasting burgers we’ve had other than ones you might make at home. And french fries were better than McD’s which I hate to admit is the only fast food item I sometimes crave. The guy working there was fun/friendly just like most of the people in the Dunsmuir area. The location is quaint, next to the city swimming pool and park.

Fond Frostie Memories. When I was just a boy we’d stay in Dunsmuir in the summertime and run on over to the Don’s Frostie for a delicious chocolate dipped cone. Kids with chocolate all over their face and hands. Fast forward to adulthood and I still get the chocolate all over my face and hands. It’s worse now due to the facial hair. You’ll want extra napkins. The fresh cold water from the Dunsmuir drinking fountain quenches the ice cream thirst you get from the frostie. Don’s gone and it’s now called Micki’s Better Burger. The frostie stand hasn’t really changed a bit. Mickie was nice enough to give me an old Don’s Frostie hat the last time we visited. Have a seat at the picnic table, suck down a frostie, and gaze at at the beauty of Mount Shasta. It’s a nice view from the frostie stand. Check out the Video:
