Nobody greets you at this place. You just find a seat. Their are no uniforms either so after 15 mins of waiting you wil get service. Food took forever and there was no one there. Food was decent.

Sports City used to be the place to be on Friday and Saturday. I remember being there on nights it was so packed you couldn’t find a seat. Now it’s a sad shell of what it used to be. I think the Karaōke ruined it, who wants to hear some drunk singing Achey Brakey Heart. Then they hired these Platinum DJs but that didn’t help. If you want to go to a bar that’s not crowded on the weekend, this is your place. I’ll give credit where it’s due, they still have the best cheese fries around. The Chicken Fried Steak is still good. The food is still pretty good overall, at least they didn’t loose that. Their beer on tap tastes really funny, doesn’t matter which brand. I don’t think they clean their draft system properly. The beer could be colder as well. If you want a set down meal at midnight, it would be ok(no where else to go at midnight). But if you like draft beer or want to be «entertained» find someplace else.

This place was terrible. It was dead on a Friday night. Service was slow. Wait time for food was extremely long. Unsweetened tea had a terrible after taste. Wife’s burger came out raw and took an additional 20 minutes for a new one to arrive at the table. Fries had a taste that the oil in the fryer needed to be changed. I had the bbq chicken. It was ok. Baked beans looked gross and the small piece of corn on the cob had freezer burn. And they only took off like 3 bucks for the jacked up burger. Avoid this place!!!

Really enjoyed our food! Everyone in our group was pleased with the taste and portion. We had chicken tenders, full rack ribs, tender medallions and fajitas and they were all good.

Service was good, but the food was eh. Sucked to wait half an hour and our food was not hot.

$ 10 cover charge to sit at a bar of overcrowded college kids… so we decided just to dine in. The hostess, Audrey, is HORRIBLE. Some bimbo who will just stand there talking to her friends while the promo girl is yelling at her to seat actual customers… she eventually got around to us even though we were the only customers and acted like it was such a burden! No smile, no anything when we were sat, she just threw the menus on the table and walked off. Haven’t even gotten our food yet, but Audrey was just so horrible that I don’t think these drinks with the 4:1 mixer/alcohol ratio can save this place.

Well gave em that second try… Ordered the special on Thursday Monterey steak. They used to much cardboard seasoning and it was over cooked. The mashed potatoes looked and tasted like they had been made last month. Our waitress was courteous and prompt then she ordered a beer and set with all her friends. There is a reason this establishment received such a low rating… stay away

This was my first visit to sports city café. When I first walked in the first thing I noticed was all of the TV’s, on at every booth. I thought this place would be great! The food was just okay, nothing great. People were yelling and cursing and not at the games just talking to each other. The service was maybe two stars. I give them two because there was a big crowd and it might not have been the waitress’s fault. It took over 20 min. for the waitress to bring back my card after I paid. When my wife and I was walking out the manger said«y’all out?» Very unprofessional. Not once were we asked about how our food was or did we enjoy the experience. Also when we got out to our car there was broken beer bottles everywhere! This was not there when we arrived. Will not be visiting again.

We sat in the bar area. Food was just okay. Nothing special. Just your typical bar food. It was pretty easy to get a seat. The place was smokey, but what should I expect in a bar. My main complaint was that they did not have a single big screen. I don’t think there was one T.V. over 42 inches. I would expect bigger in a sports bar. Maybe I am just spoiled.

Sport City Café in Durant OK was horrible! The service was absolutely bad. Our first time to any Sports City Café and the bartender had a very bad attitude! Stay away from that place, we will never go back. Don’t waste your time or money in that wretched place! — Zoey

Up front, this is a 3.5 to a 3.75 review. First visit. It was time today for our semi-monthly road trip from the Addison area. Hop in the car, grab the map & say out loud«what direction today?» We headed North on the Tollway. We love these sojourns from the hustle & bustle of the busy DFW Metroplex. Finally decided we’d head to the Choctaw Resort & Casino in Durant, OK(another review forthcoming); having been to WinStar several weeks ago, thought we’d check it out to compare . On the way we took several detours to locate some wineries in the Whitewright TX area, as a result of a bottle of wine I purchased at the Farmers Market from Texoma Wineries a few weeks ago, & I wanted MORE. Yep, we got lost, the map provided wasn’t conducive to traveling there on Hwy 75; we never found the winery, which must be tucked away on some back country road, so headed on North. Historical Markers along the way? Always on the lookout for these brown beauties. Have made many a U-turn to go back and seek out some interesting spot; we’ve found so many out of the way sites; old cemeteries dating back to the early 1800’s;(yes, we love inspecting these!) and on previous trips in this area we have seen a marker on Hwy 380 for a former WWII Prisoner of War Camp, but have never been able to locate it after wandering around country lanes. One day perhaps. Sorry, I digressed, on to the review. By this time, several hours after departure from Addison, we’re STARVING; finally reaching Durant and Choctaw, we spot the Sports City Café, located across a parking lot from the Choctaw Hotel/Casino. Sports City Café; a really cool place; it’s enormous. Nice & modern, & you can sense the newness of the place. The beautiful bar area is much larger than the dining area; an open and airy feel with a view of the huge outside patio that has a stage for bands, fire pits, & many many tables for al fresco dining. What a lovely spot on a comfortable sunny day! They have been open almost a year, since the end of May 2009. There are at least 40 flat screen TV’s in the bar & dining area. There is no spot you can sit without a great view of a TV. It has to be a draw to get out of the Casino for relief from all the noise & activity & catch a sports event, a bite to eat and a libation.(NOTE — Choctaw Casino currently does not serve alcohol, unlike WinStar who now does(believe this was made available sometime in ’08) and has several bars throughout the Casino). Sports City Café has a full bar. Food — the menu is your typical bar food with a little more to offer. A pretty decent menu with steaks, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, soups, seven different salads, pot roast, pastas, Mexican food, fajitas, several desserts including bread pudding and crème brûlée(why didn’t I try this?) etc. Service was impeccable. Amy was right on! Friendly, cheerful, outgoing, & appeared to really enjoy working here. Very attentive. Checked on us several times. Nice glass of Merlot, Matthew Fox, @ $ 5.25, pretty decent price I suppose for the area. Never heard of it, but it was good. My meal — five large pieces of Chicken Tenders were fat & plump; breading was light & nicely crisp. White meat was moist & tender. Accompanying baked beans were yummy; the taste of brown sugar & spices were perfect. Fries were okay too; I’m just one of those in the minority who isn’t overwhelmed with any French Fries, could do without them altogether. Really liked the cream gravy for dipping with much added pepper; it had just the right kick for the chicken, along with a creamy honey mustard sauce. BFF had a 25 oz. Miller Lite draft for $ 4.25; he said this was like having two beers; The Southwestern Salad; OMG, never seen so much grilled chicken strips on a salad; tons of fresh white meat. With romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, corn, many slices of Avocado; the Chipotle dressing was a perfect spicy touch. The salad was topped with Onion Strings; soooo crispy, seasoned and delish. (The ribs on the menu were so appealing; one-half rack for $ 11.99. Amy said they were really good. YUM ! Next time?) Very pleasant atmosphere; comfortable, relaxing, pleasing to the eye with dark woods and lots of glass, & with great potential for dining outside in good weather. Overall first impression, 4 stars. Yep, next time in Durant, we’ll go back. Worth an hour & half drive for a short fun getaway. A «staycation!» Previously unknown to us, Sports City Café also has locations in Mesquite, Rowlett, Lake Lewisville & the Colony.
