Arthur Murray Durham

My wife and I took lessons at Arthur Murray Durham before our first dance at our wedding, and highly recommend the studio. Our instructor Anne was really great (and very patient with us novices). She choreographed a routine appropriate for our skill level, offered clear and helpful guidance, and helped us become more confident. The studio is clean and pretty large, and the whole staff was very friendly when we visited.

Arthur Murray — Durham is much more than a dance studio. This is a family. And you are a part of that family as soon as you walk in the door. Chad, Julia, Barnabus, Anne, and Dana love their jobs and it truly shows. You can take private lessons (ours have been fantastic), come to group lessons (you learn so much in 45 minutes), and join in on the weekly parties, where you meet so many new people! Singles, couples, groups of friends — it doesn’t matter. This is the place to be!

Great people to work with and lots of opportunities to dance other than your private lesson. If you have always wanted to be able to dance this is the place to go.

We have been going to Arthur Murray Durham for over a year now. The new owner Chad Stahl has markedly improved the facility since he took over several months ago. Chad is clearly an expert instructor/​dancer. He has markedly improved our dancing via lessons with him. We also take individual lessons, especially me because as the leader I have to know how to start any move or it won’t happen. I take lessons from one of his four instructors and I would also rate them excellent also. There are group lessons every weekday evening that are free for students, and on Fridays there is a very nice free dance party at 8:00 where they serve wine. Dance instructors attend and help anyone who is new to dance. The other students are a nice bunch of people who are quite welcoming. All the other students seem to have a stellar rating of Arthur Murray Durham. First Friday of every month he also has a live band. It just doesn’t get much better than this. I have been other places and this is the best dance instruction place I have ever been.

Such a nice facility and our instructor was a really great teacher. He was able to customize the lesson with ease. We are definitely going back!
