First of all I am from PA and have yet to find a Chinese take-​out restaurant with eggrolls like ours. I went to China Wok and the eggrolls were small and greasy. I ordered ribtips and fried rice. NEVER again! The ribtips were nothing but bones and the shrimp in the rice was under cooked and the rice had nothing in it. No carrots, peas, no nothing. My love got General Tso’s, two pieces of broccoli, huge pieces of chicken and too much sauce. I will never go to this place again!
Please help me find a good chinese take-​out spot here in Durham, NC.

The food here is okay. The only reason I would come here for the buffet is because they have scallion and oyster pancakes, and phở… sometimes shaved ice. So the food options here are different than for other Chinese buffets, but don’t expect excellent scallion pancakes, oyster pancakes, or phở.

Chinese restaurants can always be depended upon to serve food on days like today when it’s snowing and most people are hitting up grocery stores and getting ready to hole up inside. This place was exactly what I expected, and that’s a good thing!
I went with the standby General Tso’s ($ 7.95 with rice and an egg roll, though sadly, only two pieces of broccoli); Phil was a bit more adventurous and got Szechuan beef and prawns (decidedly not Szechuan — no peppercorns — and he complained, «It tastes just like anything else on the menu»). Even so, he scarfed it down.
They do a pretty solid take-​out service here it seems. Lots of folks in and out while we were waiting for our order (which turned around in under 10 minutes). There is seating if you want to dine in. If you do so, you can play the claw arcade game OR buy a pack of Trident in the vending machine that was sadly empty save a few sticks of gum.

Pretty good for a strip mall Chinese restaurant. The dishes I’ve ordered are always cooked with what seem like fresh vegetables, and not overcooked like a lot of places. I ususally judge a place by their dumplings, and China Wok has abnormally large, but tasty ones. My only real gripe with the place is the portion size is a little bit small compared to the price.
