Five Guys is good for a quick freshmade burger. But when did they get so expensive? $ 4 plus dollars for a small hamburger add on fries and a drink, I spent $ 12. Their burgers are okay but they could use more seasoning in their meat. I really like their hand cut fries with the Cajun seasoning.

I walked in and was warmly greeted by a young lady cleaning off the tables. The gentleman behind the register barely recognized I was there. The young lady that was cleaning the tables then came behind the register greeted me again very cheerily and took my order. The guy that was behind the register initially began making my order. A few moments later the same young lady that was bussing tables, that took my order was making my food. After a while she enthusiastically called me over then confirmed and handed over my to go order. Amazing!!! This employee has an incredible work ethic and was cheerful and customer friendly the entire time. Corinthia was her name. I am sending a big shout out to you young lady. Don’t change a thing and I wish you the best in all future endeavors.

I visited this Five Guys twice during the time I was in Durham, mostly because it was so convenient to the hotel, but also because I have a few dietary restrictions. While I don’t know if their beef is hormone or antibiotic free, this is relatively healthier than going to Burger King, McDonald’s or Wendy’s where there are fillers, additives and preservatives. Service was always fast and friendly here. This place is clean too compared to the other Five Guys I’ve been to in ATL. I’d gladly come back here.

We’ve eaten here before and had a good experience, but there was something different this time. The first thing we noticed(aside from the AC being set on meatlocker temperature) is the employees don’t look very happy, none of them. I’m not sure what’s up, but based on a previous experience we thought the food would be okay. My burger seemed like it had been thrown together in a hurry cos everything was lopsided leaving the burger in just one part of the bun. I’m not sure what the hurry was cos it was pretty dead when we walked in and only one person ahead of us. As much as I tried, I couldn’t get things in the middle so it made for a mess in no time. My partner’s burger had the wrong toppings on it so they had to make another. They told her to keep the first one, which she gave to me. I ate part of it and it was much better than my first one, but then her’s ended up being all lopsided too. Is that supposed to be what a good burger is like? So uneven that you end up losing most of it with every bite? The fries were kind of soggy and overall not very good. Based on all of the above we decided we won’t be making a visit here again.

I love a great hamburger. Five Guys seems to know how to make a great hamburger. The Durham location is in an awkward location. You will see signs posted on the interstate giving«minimal» directions, but you are really on your own to find it(maybe I should Unilocal about NCDOT signage). Anyhow, the staff is very friendly. The food and condiments are fresh and plentiful. I ordered a burger all the way. And that is what I got. It was loaded, which was fine. If anyone says Five Guys is skimpy on french fries, then they perhaps have a hole the bag from the counter to the table. Five Guys provides a ton of fries in the bag and seasoned very well. I didn’t have to add salt. I did have to wait to eat them because they were HOT out of the fryer. While you are waiting for your order there are plenty of peanuts to eat. I have not had a bad experience at Five Guys. Sure, the price is a bit more than other burger places, but worth every penny.

Good chain. I love this location. It’s fast and the employees are very friendly. The tall white guy that was working this weekend was super friendly and polite. I don’t know how anyone working at a chain can be that nice consistently. :) It’s much appreciated when I am hungry and have had a bad day. Oh and the peanuts are a plus. always a plus.

This Five Guys was a very clean looking restaurant and it was comfortable. The burger was excellent and they give you enough fries for two people when ordering regular. The free peanuts are obviously a nice touch and the employees are friendly. My vegetarian mother enjoyed her vegetable sandwich and was especially grateful for the peanuts. The price wasn’t ridiculous considering we each got full meals and drinks for under $ 20 for two people.

Great place to grab some fries(I’d recommend the cajun spice ones). Can’t review the burgers because I can’t eat the buns(no gluten free options) but the regular fries are more than enough to make a meal of at Five Guys. Only reason for the 4 vs. 5 stars is the price. They are proud of the fries and small soda @ $ 5.27 but it’s a good craving reducer. Once a month or so won’t really hurt you, right? :)

Very good burgers with lots of free toppings. Yes, it’s a national chain, but the ingredients are fresh, and the service is fast. Peanuts while you wait(so if you have an allergy, you may want to avoid the place altogether). A few notes: the regular burger has two patties. If you aren’t a big eater, order the«little» burgers. Also, one order of regular fries is more than enough for my husband, 4 year old, and me. There is no kid’s menu, but they have hotdogs and grilled cheeses if your little one doesn’t do burgers. It’s rather expensive for a burger joint, but it’s definitely better than a place like Ruby Tuesdays, Chilis, and the like for a burger, and priced around the same.

Good burgers, decent fries. But WAYTOOEXPENSIVE!!! Not a good value for the money. The burger does taste good but for the money i would rather good to Char-grill. And Char-grill is locally owned and operated. Don’t get me wrong. I like Five Guys, but high price means i won’t be back anytime soon. Also if you want one pattie, order the little burger. And regular fries is enough for 2 people to eat. Come on, $ 2.89 for regular fries. Is this a good value? NO! The least expensive hot dog on the menu is $ 3.00. Yes they do have bags of free peanuts to munch on while you wait for your burger. Location B Staff B Food B Décor C

We first tried Five Guys in the outer banks. It ROCKED!!! Was hoping to be as impressed with this location – it wasn’t quite as good. But gosh, they kick out a really good greasy burger. Their seasoned(cajun, I think) fries are yuuuuuuuuumy and they always come plentiful! Definitively not a place to come to all the time, but as a crazy calorie-packed meal out, it’s worth a taste.

Bad fries. Haven’t tried the cajun version, but the plain ones leave much to be desired. I wish I could detail their flaws for you, but I forced myself to forget how lackluster they were as I went ahead and ate them. Bottom line, if you’re not into burgers, don’t come here thinking that you’ll have a dandy time eating fries. Waste of calories.

I like the idea of Five Guys Burgers and Fries and I LOVE that they have a smaller version of their burgers in case your appetite is not that huge. I was pretty hungry, but I knew my limits and I got a small cheeseburger with bacon and grilled mushrooms and some other good toppings. Yay for picking and choosing =) I got a large bag of fries, which was way more than substantial — and I’m usually a fry monster. Yikes. So I guess a small fries would’ve sufficed. I got them plain, so I can’t speak for the Cajun. They were pretty good. The décor is a bit grimy — it’s very country-feel, with sacks of potatoes and tables, but I wouldn’t have felt comfortable sitting inside. It wasn’t dirty, exactly, but something about it threw me off. I got to eat outside, thankfully, and I greatly enjoyed my burger and fries(and had way too much leftover, unfortunately). I want to give it 3.5 stars, but I rounded down in the end because it still was pricier than what I would’ve wanted: x

As fast food goes, Five Guys is as good as it gets! This Five Guys ranks right up there with most of them as qualifying for that statement. Yes, it’s more expensive than McD’s or BK or W’s etc…, but look at the quality of burgers and toppings you get by comparison! Order a «large fries» and get a bag full of fries! Order a bacon cheeseburger and get a double patty with about 6 slices of bacon on it… to heck with the calories, I just want my five guys burger piled high with jalapeño peppers, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and HOTSAUCE! Ask for Hot sauce or jalapenos at BK or McD’s and listen to the response you get from the cashier. And while we waited for our food, we had peanuts to munch on! My piled high double patty smothered with bacon and toppings didn’t last long — that tasty treat couldn’t be resisted and when it comes to eating good food, nothing gets between me and my appetite. I’d say it’s almost as good as ice cream!

This Five Guys location is pretty new to the Patterson Place retail area in S. W Durham and is similar to other Five G locations I have been to. The inside is rather sparse with tables and a large menu on one corner of the wall. They have bags of potatoes as props and the rest of the walls are decorated with glowing reviews of how stupendous their burgers and fries are(they like to brag). I ordered a cheeseburger, and small fries to go.(Came to almost ten dollars so a little pricey). The burger was quite good, and juicy. They offer a wide variety of topping choices at no extra charge. As is typical with Five G. they give you a ridiculous amount of fries. I ordered the small portion, but there is nothing small about it. They must have a good deal with their potato supplier to give you so many fries. If you have another person to share your abundance of fries with that would be the way to go. I wish they would also offer a smaller portion(smaller than small) of fries at less cost. Five Guys offers up some tasty burgers, but I prefer the independent burger joint in Durham known as Only Burger a few miles down the road.
