OK. I will order takeout from here in a pinch. They are really just ripping off the Chipotle model, which is fair enough as Chipotle has a great efficient system. Tacomanos food isn’t as good as Chipotle’s though. It is pretty flavorless, which is always somewhat disappointing for Mexican food! I do really like their chopped cilantro and pickled onions but that is really all that excites me here.

If you have Celiac Disease or a food allergy, I would not step foot in this establishment until they make major changes. I went in and asked how they are when it comes to gluten free or Celiac Disease and my question was completly disregarded by most of the staff and even joked about on the side. It was like they assumed it was a lifestyle choice instead of a medical condition. The way my question was handled made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed and I couldn’t wait to leave.

Great food and wonderful great fresh stuff. Unfortunately the town sucks and likes to ticket you for failure to pay their non existent parking meters. I was really happy to find a place half way between my place and a my folks place to have lunch. When parking coast me more then lunch I just can’t afford this place. So disappointed I’ll never eat here again.

Good prices, good food, fresh ingredients and a cool space. Came in right before the lunch rush and was helped quickly. Cool that the menu features quinoa but bummed to find there was no tofu. Overall a good Mexican spot in a college town. Great for lunch.

Delicious food with standard prices. Sometimes the chicken is a little underdone and sometimes overdone, they’re still finding their perfect time. The melted queso is their best ingredient. If you don’t want a whole burrito or bowl then opt for chips and queso! They give you a large helping and its warm! Staff is generally friendly if you initiate a smile.

We stopped by on a recent cold night and got ourselves happily warmed up here. The food is good, the atmosphere pleasant and the prices right. We tried the tacos and the bowls and came away very satisfied; the salsas seemed homemade and were good, and the toppings in general were varied and uniformly tasty(really liked the quinoa). The servings were plentiful, and everything at the counter appeared fresh. The chicken was on the dry side, however, our only disappointment. You go down a line, select your main dish and ingredients and then find a table, all very orderly and quick. The guys behind the counter were nice, and we came away wishing we had a Tacomano closer to us.

It’s about time Durham got a burrito place and I have to say that I love it. Overall the quality is very good and better than Margarita’s. I like that the burrito is made as you go down the line rather than ordering all the options at the register like Dos Amigos. I’ve had great service on each visit too.

For those of you are craving inoffensive fast food-like tex mex, when a sit down meal at Mixteca is out of the question and you don’t have the time to drive to Newington, Dover or just hate Chipotle in general, check out Tacomano. From the folks that created the chain Margaritas(which I’ll say I am not a fan of), surprisingly Tacomano offers a tasty selection of familiar ingredients, as well as a few options you don’t typically see. Choose your own food adventure: Bowl, Tacos, Burrito or Salad. Their Queso is spicy and cheesy while Quinoa is also an option alongside white rice — and I think they have something good going with that Quinoa. I also LOVE that they offer pickled onions! The chicken is tasty, not overcooked and rubbery like Chipotle and Qudoba’s poultry often seems. I’ve been there three times since they opened and haven’t been disappointed by a meal so far but I will say… the only issue I had my first visit was a request for guacamole on the side. The friendly cashier was confused about how to ring up my burrito when I didn’t have the guac in my burrito, so he assumed I was ordering the menu item of Chips and Guac but that wasn’t the case. He did correct the issue and I was not overcharged. About that Guac, it’s not that great. Tastes like the Guac from Margaritas. I much prefer Guacamole at other restaurants but for only $ 1 extra its not a bad price for what you get. One last thing, I feel a wheat option for the burrito wrap would be excellent. If you have a craving for some heat and are on the go, Tacomano is the place to be in Durham.

Chipotle knock off that could use a little work. The chicken was dry and the beans were over cooked. Hopefully they’re still working through the kinks.

BEST option in Durham… hands down. Great food, fast service, awesome remodel that will keep other restaurant owners on their toes in town. I’ve tried the tacos, salad, and bowls. Meats and veggies are all fresh, the salsas are homemade and there is a nice variety of sauces that you can select from as well including sriracha. Don’t leave without trying the quinoa either! Thanks for taking a chance on Durham. If you live here or go to UNH, check them out.

Had a chicken burrito bowl with rice, black beans, mild salsa, guac, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. The chicken had a great marinade, flavor and was cooked well. The guac was average as well as the salsa but the beans were delicious. The atmosphere is fun and casual which is perfect for downtown durham. I am glad there is finally another food place open late that is not just pizza. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Had a veggie burrito with quinoa(!!) for lunch. SO delicious! I hope that Tacomano stays open for a long, long time. With this fantastic food and friendly, quick service, it should be a no-brainer.
