This is an amazing church, and the last thing you’d expect to come across in Eastern Iowa’s cornfields. I’ve been to the Basilica in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, and St. Peter’s in Rome, but Dyersville’s St Francis Xavier trumps them both. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, it requires a visit.

You need to see this. I couldn’t believe we had a European-​caliber Basilica here in Eastern Iowa. We were knocked out by the exterior architecture and the interior was even better.
