Food and service were great! Fresh, fast super yummy, but super large portions. I disagree with a fellow reviewer the prices here are much higher compared to Anchorage for the same types of meals, plus they add an Open Food«tax» unlike Anchorage. Living in the area this will def be one of our go to’s just not often. IDK if it’s an Alaska thing or maybe cause I stand out for the neighborhood but people def like to stare and gawk especially at this restaurant.

The beer selection is wide, but, I’m not a big fan of most Alaskan beers, so for me, just meh on that count. I got Buffalo Wings to split with the wife and asked for them Extra Spicy, and got the goofy warning from the bartender that I might not be able to handle it. When the wings arrived, they smelled fairly normal. I took one bite and asked for a bottle of hot sauce. I doused the wings in hot sauce and they were still mild-medium by lower 48 standards.

Eagle River Ale House has the best burger in ANC/ER! As good, if not better than Tommy’s. I am a seasonal contractor and whenever I am in ER, I try to come by at the end of the day. It’s not the cheapest burger or appetizer, but the quality and PORTION more than make up for it. Also, best fries in ANC/ER. You can’t go wrong. Can’t speak for the pizzas, cause I can’t get past the burgers. Staff is great, and I speak from a «regularJoe» perspective. I don’t get here offer enough for the staff to recognize me. My only complaint is I’m watching lacrosse and soccer instead of baseball. But, I’ll they are happy to put baseball on a screen when I ask.

We were skeptical at first, but boy were we proved wrong. The service was great and The food was delicious. I had a French dip type sandwich with salad instead of fries and hubby had a chicken burrito. At first We thought the prices were on the high side but actually it’s average for the area. And the amount of food made us forget all about the price. My hubby’s burrito was huge! Def big enough to share and my sandwich was massive as well. Out of the restaurants in the area I would recommend this place first. We visited in beginning of June 2016.

Great place to hang with friends and have a HUGE glass of one of the several beers and ciders on tap! Nachos and hot wings are a must, but their pizzas are also great! They offer the best breakfast in Eagle River too! Mornings are more mellow then a Friday night but every time we go there we have a great time, good food, and awesome service!

Food was good but the service sucked big time. Our server was on another planet most of the time. He delivered our food to the table before he’d even put napkins or even silverware. By the time he finally brought them, my kids had already started eating with their hands. They have no idea what champagne is. We got chilled white wine in a wine glass and our server swore it was champagne(it was mother’s day so we went for brunch. Hence ordering champagne at an ale house). Some jerkoff thought it was polite to just loom over our table for about the last twenty minutes of our meal as if to say, are you done yet, are you gonna eat all that? We ordered water for the kids and orange juice for myself. The kids got pint glasses and I got a rocks glass with oj. Big surprise, one of the waters got spilled. I think the size of the glasses should have been reversed but hey that’s just me.

Pretty good place to go for beer and food. Servers are usually very good. Food comes in good proportions. The amount of fries they give you is usually ridiculous. Like 4 potatoes worth! Beer selection is awesome!

First time here — love the ambience! Their beer in taps was impressive! 60! I say again 60 beers!!! The hostess was accommodating and allowed to get our drinks and food order in at the bar while we waited for a table to open up. Plenty of TV screens and projector screen to watch your fav sports. And for a casual space, the leather cushioned seats were a nice touch! We ordered the meat lovers pizza — their one and only size was a good portion to feed two. The sauce to dough ratio was perfect and flavorful. I could actually hold up one slice one-handed without it wilting and topping sliding off. I usually never eat the last piece of crust… I ate the last piece of crust — NOMNOMNOM! The dough was that good! I’m hardly go to Eagle River for anything, but now I have a reason: D

— large beer selection, conveniently categorized — good food — nice atmosphere — excellent service — slightly lengthy wait time for the food but not bad — I’d return there again in the near future

Their mushroom burger is awesome! Great place to relax and kickback with good food. The prices could be better, but I understand it’s the location!

Service is excellent. Food is ridiculously good. Fresh ingredients and huge portions. I’ve been here several times and everything I’ve had has been great, but tonight I had the quesadilla. I realize it’s «bar food» but it’s actually a full meal. Can’t wait to come back.

Pitstop. Always nice to have a decent selection of draft beers… ordered Ahi taco and Primerib taco. To my surprise the portion passed as a taco salad IMO. They did not have or offer hard shell option. Deep fried corn tortilla to shape is all you really need… The ambience inside is fun.

Went to lunch with a friend, The Burger was sloppy and soggy. The fries were thick and greasy and not at all crisp. Lots of food. Wont Bring the wife or come back myself.

The Eagle River Ale House has a rustic flare with Southern hospitality. All the staff were extremely accommodating even with my Vegan diet restrictions. The 23 yr old chef made me a custom pizza with Jalepeno infused oil. The chef mentioned he loves being creative and if you have diet restrictions just give him 1 – 2 weeks notice and he’ll make dishes to accommodate your dietary restrictions.

I have to admit The Eagle River Ale House is the type of place I really, really want to like. So many different beers on tap. Megasteins for around 9 bucks. Big screens TVs everywhere. It’s just an atmosphere that really appeals to me. Food: I dig most everything I’ve had at the ER Ale House. The salads are HUGE, the pizza is very good and the prime burger is awesome(albeit a little pricey for a burger but the inclusion of shaved prime beef makes it worthwhile). Food prices: are about on par with what you’ll pay in other pub style establishments in Anchorage. I wouldn’t call it the most affordable sit down place to eat in Eagle River but overall most entrees are under 20 bucks with a few exceptions. Atmosphere: It’s a fairly loud place lots of echoing especially on very busy nights or during football on Sunday(they show ll the NFL games via NFL Sunday Ticket!!). Sometimes it’s hard to have a conversation with someone sitting right next to you which is why ER Ale House is probably not my first choice for a quiet sit down dinner with my wife. Plus with the large military population of ER there are lots of young families in the area so don’t be surprised to see them patronizing the Ale House. Probably not my first choice for a place to take young ones but to each their own. For the most part it stays pretty tame but it can get a little ruckus later in the evening, especially on weekends, and when NFL games are on. Beer: beer, beer, beer! What more can I say. They have something like 75 different taps with lots of really great local craft brews. You can also get a megastein(32 oz) of many of the brews for only 9 bucks which makes for a pretty economical outing.

This place has got some really awesome food. Not to mention that it comes in humongous portions. They’ve also got a decent selection of beverages. Their Prime Rib Tacos and Burrito are a must try. Since the place is packed and busy most of the time, service tends to be a bit slow. Regardless, the servers are friendly and provides a really great service. The environment is also pretty nice. There are tons of TV’s that are great for watching games. Over all, it makes your Eagle River Alaska experience fun, friendly and very local.

I was post-hike hungry after walking the 13 miles from ERNC. Yes, we walked. Sometime we bike & that takes less time. ER Ale House was there for us. We didn’t have to wait long before we got a table. The pizza & giant salad were satiating and not bad. This time I got The Goat pizza & Spinach Goat Cheese salad. See a theme here? Yum. Other people were probably horrified seeing each of us eat an entire pizza+salad each. But that’s the way we roll. The real reason we come here: There are so many beers to chose from! Their web site boasts 64 beers on tap. Did you know they serve breakfast? I’ve been here quite a number of times but haven’t tried their breakfast. Their coffee drinks are surprisingly good. The place can be kinda loud at times. The TVs are always on. There’s also an upstairs where the wine bar lives. So many happy times from all the visits to ER Ale House & so many more beers(and breakfast) to explore. Now for the walk back home.

Beer: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Math = 4 stars Seriously, I was BLOWNAWAY by the beer selection here. Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I’ll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I’ve never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn’t even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren’t much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you’re up near Twin Peaks.

Loved the pizza, beer, and service. They have a downstairs bar with dining hall, patio seating, and upstairs bar with open seating. We went upstairs and received prompt and friendly service from Lisa, the manager, and our wonderful bartender Matt! Thanks for making my Eagle River Alaska experience a nice, local, fun and friendly one! :)

Called ahead and reserved a table for four. Good thing. The place was packed. Wanna know why? — 33 beers on tap — Enormous portions — Great service — TVs everywhere — Did I mention the 33 beers on tap? You can bring a radio to turn to any of the TVs. Who has a portable radios these days? I would have upped my rating, but they need to provide audio to the patrons. Great idea, but no follow thru.
