Good choice in this suburban mall. The next door is the too popular Olive Garden, where the line is too long. Why wait when you cross over and enjoy a nice meal without the crowds. Prices are 25 – 40 depending.

This place is good and bad. Good in the sense that my fish tacos and my piña colada on a pineapple were AMAZING and bad in the sense that they forgot to bring out my sisters food so basically I ate my entire meal(and she had some of mine) and 10 minutes after I was done they brought out her meal bc the kitchen told the server that they had delivered the food to our table and basically they never made it. Disappointed in the service but happy with my tacos and my drink!

Our waitress was friendly and check on us often. We had to remind her because she forget part of our order, she was very apologetic. Overall service was okay but I was not impressed with the food. The lobster was under cooked and bland. I doubt I will be returning.

Considering I went in wary, I was very surprised by the service. Food was pretty good, except for the lobster bisque. Our waiter kept forgetting items we needed but his warm smile and honest apology made us not stress it. Overall it was okay for a fast seafood restaurant. Definitely not on the top of my list of places to return to tho.

I give this place 2 stars because the service was terrible. The waiter took extremely long to come to the table to even offer us drinks. Then we ordered the Piña colada which comes in a pineapple which is cool except it didn’t taste like there was any alcohol in it. Then the food came and I was very disappointed because they forgot the sides and completely messed up the order. Very disappointed with the experience that I will not be back.

Okay where should I start. Their service is horrible … You would think the service would get better, since they been open for awhile now. Unless you get a regular employee that’s been there(I wish I could remember there names) I would tell you to request them. The only reason I go there because it’s the only one in the Bronx and I love the crab dip and the happy hr, other then that, they suck. So don’t go there expecting excellent service because you will not get it !

Came here on a friday night and the place was empty… which says alot for Joe’s Crab shack. Prior to this opening I had only been to the location in Oceanside and I was expecting to see a line out the door. Our server was new and very nice. The half priced drinks and appetizers were not too bad either. The stuffed mushrooms and crab dip were my favorites. For entrée I ordered the surf and turf burger. The shrimps on the burger were good but the actual ground beef itself was nothing extra. I should have gone with a steampot instead.

Honestly this has to be the worst establishment with the worst service that I have EVER been to… EVER. I have been to other Joe Crab Shacks and had great experiences. The one in coop city is a major disappointment. I’ve visited several times and time, after time I have had poor, slow service and last luster food. I tried this place several times just so I could give it a fair chance(I understand that bad nights exist/people make mistakes). However, I am completely sure that this place is just horrible. Let me explain why: 1) The place is always dirty and has tons of unclean tables. I have gone and seen tables not cleaned with tons of garbage and plates for like a whole hour, while customers wait long periods for a table. 2) The servers lack training and customer service. The servers aren’t very polite and will ignore you when they are waiting your table. They come to check up on you like every 30 minutes. Once I had waited 30 minutes for a server even greeted and showed up at my table. The hostess watched waiter after waiter pass us by for like 20 minutes before coming over to our table. When she got to our table she said, «I see you guys have been waiting a long time and I figured I should do something about it.» LOLWTF The waiting the severs talk is not polite and they seem to always lack information about the specials and food. Overall, If possible just avoid this place at every cost. It’s not worth the poor service, attitude, and disrespect. There are many other options in the area with much better service. It just sucks that the one Joes Crab Shack near me really sucks. I hope they bring in new managment/leadership that can properly train and support the staff, because whatever was done is clearly not working.

On the night of Friday February 19th me and my sister took my niece out for a girls day dinner for her birthday to Joe’s Crab Shack in the Bay Plaza area. I usually go to the one in the Palisades mall but I knew there would be traffic on the bridge. After being told there was about a 10 minute wait for a table at 5:10pm, and they were short servers for the night we waited about 30 — 40 Minutes for a table we were seated around 6pm. Upon getting to a table we were seated at a table that was missing screws and extremely wobbly with only two menus. We decided to switch the tables with the table next to us where no one was seated and staff and servers saw us and never approached us regarding the table condition. After waiting about 15 minutes without a server we flagged down staff and let them know we have not been approached, the young lady then said she would find us a server. About 10 minutes go by and then she said she’d serve or table since she couldn’t find anyone. We ordered 2 of the same steampots and a lobster daddy special for my niece along with 3 sodas. After about 15 minutes the waitress said she forgot to put in the lobster daddy order and apologized and said she would have management take it off our bill. She then brought out our 2 steampots that were both the Cajun and the quaintly of the crab legs were not the same one was much less than the other and one wasnt seasoned. Already annoyed I did not mention it because I was concerned about the order for my niece. The waitress was nice and apologized for the mixup and brought out some extra fries for her while she waited for her food. Once her steampot came out the waitress then asked us if we were going to order anything else, we were all still eating so were a little unsure about wanting or needing anything else(besides the melted butter we had asked for a few times and was still waiting on it to melt) She told us she asked because she wasn’t feeling well and wanted to go home and we were her last table. So we said it was fine. She said she would let management know about our bill and leave. She came back about 3 times to say she was working on making the bill«right» She then asked that we take care of the bill before she leaves, while we were still eating. She showed me a bill that excluded the lobster daddy for about $ 60ish and I gave her my card. She then came back with a receipt for my card swipe for $ 38 I signed the receipt and she left. Then I checked my account and there was about $ 85 pending on my card for the bill, so I asked for a copy of the receipt I signed to notify my bank and have them sort it out. Then she told me she didn’t have the receipt. After another 10 minutes go by she asked me to come see the manager and explain the situation. I asked that the manager reprint all the transactions on my card and expressed my frustration with the bill. She said she would comp our entire meal and she apologized for«employee error,» we then continued with our meal and then had to flag down staff so that we could have to-go bags for our meals. Then we left a little after 9pm. Upon leaving we were then yelled at and stopped by «Joe’s security» in the hallway of the mall saying that we did not pay for our meal. I told him that we were told they would handle it and he asked me to come inside to speak to the manger. I refused to go inside told him to ask the manager after 5 minutes of waiting he apologized for the mix up and then said we were fine. At this point my sister asked him for the phone number to corporate and then he told her to hold on and literally ran after another group that was leaving the restaurant.
This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a Joe’s or a restaurant I would have rather was paid for a better experience to enjoy a night out. I have never had this issue anywhere ever and I was disappointed and embarrassed by the way I was treated by staff and especially security. I have never been followed out of a store/restaurant like I was stealing and I did not steal a meal. Although my meal was free it was not enjoyable or fulfilling. I now feel like I owe my niece another dinner to celebrate her 14th birthday because of what happened at this establishment.

If I could give ZERO stars I absolutely would! I came in to celebrate my nieces birthday last Friday night and ended up being there for THREE hours! From start to finish the experience was HORRIBLE and the customer service was NON-EXISTENT! Let’s start at the beginning. After being told that we would be seated in about 10 – 15 minutes, we were seated 45 minutes later. Mind you the majority of the restaurant was empty. The line outside clearly indicated that they were short staffed. When we were finally seated we discovered that our table moved due to missing screws. We switched the tables around ourselves because we didn’t see a waitress for at least 20 minutes. When our waitress finally appeared we decided to order our food and drinks at once so as not to delay the process any further. Drinks of course took entirely to long. My sister and I recieved our steam pots about a half hour later. My nieces steam pot was forgotten and had to be remade, and my sisters steam pot wasn’t seasoned at all. Did I mention that it was obvious that we weren’t given the right amount of crab clusters in both?!? The waitress apologized and let us know that my nieces steam pot would be free, which was appreciated. However, the manager on duty did not agree with giving away a lobster steam pot despite the error. In the middle of our meal we were asked to pay because our waitress was leaving early because she was«feeling sick». The waitress had to come back to our table several times, with several reciepts, and my sisters card was swiped for full price. Although, the receipt she finally signed did not have the lobster steam pot listed. The waitress lost the signed receipt and my sister actually had to go speak to the manager personally. Our entire check ended up being complimentary simply because the manager no longer wanted to deal with the situation. Although, we were still pretty disgusted we were fine with the solution. However, as we proceeded to leave the mall security flagged us down because the hostess told him that we didn’t pay… After struggling to FIND the manager she explained the situation and we were excused. At this point I just couldn’t believe the way we were treated and went to ask the hostess for the number to the corporate office. The hostess was DISGUSTING and stated that she didn’t like my tone, I needed to calm down, and had the nerve to tell her coworker that she needed to walk away before she said something rude. Despite my tone all I asked for was the number to the corporate office. I did not raise my voice nor was I rude, so if my tone was a problem then the hostess clearly chose the wrong profession. After realizing that the conversation was going nowhere, I spotted the manager at the bar. I explained my frustration and asked for the corporate number and she simply told me to «find it online.» NEVER will I EVER visit this location again. It’s obvious that they won’t be open long. I definitely will be contacting corporate as well. Everyone needs to be retrained and some serious customer service training is in order as well. I love Joe’s but this experience may just make me rethink visiting the restaurant itself.

Joe’s Crab Shack does a pretty decent job overall. In Maryland, it would be a bust, but in New York, they do their best. I tried the Bay Plaza location the other day and when I asked to be seated at a bar table, the hostess said«I can’t sit you there», to which her co-worker said«why not?» And sat us at a bar table anyway. We ordered two beers which took about 15 minutes to come out, and the place was only at 30% capacity, not sure why it took so long. We ordered 16oz drinks and were given 22oz. We informed the waiter who stated we would only be charged for the 16oz. Then while waiting for our food, another hostess has a mini meltdown telling the manager she needs to be sent home because someone made an inappropriate comment to her. The manager tried his best to keep her under control considering she was having this meltdown at the entrance of the restaurant. But it was easy to see, he really didn’t have full control of his staff.(I’ve been to the Clifton, NJ location and the manager there runs a tight ship. Bay Plaza may need to recruit him). Our food came and it was pretty good. Our server was very kind and accommodating but seemed overwhelmed despite the restaurant not being crowded. We heard the couple next to us ask for utensils after their food was delivered and another couple complain that their drinks took too long to arrive. This location needs an intervention in order to survive. Probably won’t visit this location again.

The food quality is below average. Frozen fish that’s all I can really say. Something you can buy and flavor yourself from a supermarket. The portions are also small compared to what they make it seem. Service is similar to an Applebee’s or Friday’s so nothing out of the ordinary. In fact the server was pretty rude when we came. Didn’t have any knowledge on the menu, refused to answer our questions, and took fifteen minutes to refill our drinks. The place was empty, but still took 45 minutes for our frozen entrée to arrive…

If you’re thinking about coming here for 2.00 Twosday. DON’T!!! Service is awful, came in at 6:19 host took my number told me 15 min wait after other guest came in and got seated before us the host says«you good? I forgot about y’all.» We sat for about 30 mins with out anyone coming to address us, the waiter and waitress are walking back and forth looking lost. The service is beyond awful today 12/29/2015. The food was cold, soggy and not presentable. Not impressed at all !!! If I could give 0 stars I would.

This place brings back memories. I used to work in the area and found myself frequenting here after my shifts. Always at the bar. The bartenders were always friendly, the drinks were perfect, and I’m a total sucker for the crab dip. If you’re at a loss, get the crab dip! I’ve also had the Mahi Mahi Tacos, which are tasty too. The food is pretty standard for a chain, so don’t expect the upper echelon of seafood. That’s why City Island exists! There were times when I waited a while for food, but I’m a patient person and kind bartenders always make the experience less painful. I’ve never been to 2 dollar Tuesdays during peak hours, but I have seen the crowds and I do not suggest it.

The food, portions, and service are nowhere close to decent. The portions are very small and not worth the price at all — they do a great job marketing but fail to deliver on the hype. One my most recent visit, they were out of our top 2 picks and our appetizers were forgotten and eventually showed up when. We were ready for our bill — our raw oysters never arrived because they said they couldn’t find a shuck. My first and last visit to joes.

So this was my first time at any Joe’s Crab Shack PERIOD. I had been looking forward to going here for sum time. I had heard a lot of good things about it, especially $ 2 Tuesdays! Upon approaching the doors, ur greeted by about 3 security guys in black suits as if ur at the club. It was strange being that it was 6pm on a Tuesday. Anyway, they were nice checking IDs and stamping hands. A small fight between 2 young girls broke out nearby while we were waiting to get in. At the same time a few teenage boys were aimlessly walking looking like they were sumhow tryna sneak in when security looked away. Ugh. We get inside and it’s nicely set up. Music is playing but not too loud. It also was fairly empty. We were seated and met our server, Mark. He was very nice and explained the menu to me in detail since it was my first time there. I ordered the Hurricane which was the only drink on the $ 2 menu beside draft beer. It was decent but not what I expected. It also wasn’t strong at all I had a total of 5 of them and felt nuthin at all. As for food, I ordered the calamari and voodoo chicken. The calamari was fried and came with a «shack» sauce. The voodoo chicken is basically just fried chicken pieces. It doesn’t come with any sauce. There was a rowdy group of young people at the table behind us. They were about 17 – 22. They were very loud and disrespectful to Mark, the server. He handled it very well and the manager on duty did as well. I don’t know her name. All in all, the experience was ok. Next time I’ll sit at the bar and order one of the other drinks off the menu which looked good. Also the steampots looked and smelled amazing as well.

So I’ve been here twice, the first time was with a friend of mine who’s very familiar with the restaurant. Our server was pleasant and prompt for the most part. We went on a Tuesday night so there were drink specials that were quite appealing, as well as a special on appetizers. We ordered baby shrimp and fries which held us over for a while until our meals came. There wasn’t too long of a wait seeing that it was a Tuesday night. I had a crab cake sandwich and fries. The food was pretty mediocre to be honest, but the drinks were great so I didn’t complain. Plus the free glass was a plus. The second time I went with my fiancé and the experience was downright bizarre. We went on a Saturday afternoon and despite the fact that there weren’t too many people in the restaurant there was still a long wait just to be seated. Then after we got in we waited about 15 minutes before a server actually came to greet us. Then we waited another 20 minutes or so just for our drinks to come. Then we waited an additional 20 minutes for our food. Meanwhile the staff breaks into a dance routine. I think it was meant to be cute but when I’m hungry and I’ve been waiting extra long for my food, the last thing I want to see is dancing waiters. The food was again mediocre but the drink was alright. Because service was significantly better the first time I went, I can’t say that the long wait is a chronic issue. But honestly the food isn’t great enough to make me want to come back, unfortunately. And the dancing was weird.

It was my first visit here and had lunch with a friend. I was absolutely impressed by the level of customer service by our server Cindy, and everyone there. The food was delicious, I had salmon with the crab rice and corn. At one point during our meal, the manager, Anthony, came to our table and introduced himself, and chatted about their options and specials. Will definitely be coming back, and will have to check out the Tuesday specials for drinks and appetizers.

I rarely give fast food places 5 stars but Joe’s Crab Shack deserves it for my most recent experience. Let me preface this review with the fact that I came to Joe’s Crab Shack with a vegan and not just any vegan but a vegan who’s also a picky eater and has a gluten free diet! Now you get where I’m going with this… So while my dear vegan friend was in the bathroom, I gave our waiter Mike the heads up on her eating restrictions. He stated he had personal experience with a vegan so he totally understood. I was like GREAT!!! So my friend comes out gives him a rundown of what she was in the mood for but everything she could not have, after it was all said and done, she had an amazing plate of food that looked delicious. It looked so good, the manager Joe(yes, his name is Joe… and he works at Joe’s Crab Shack) came by to check in on us and fell in love with her meal, he decided to have something similar for his dinner selection. Order Rundown: Appetizer: Crab Nachos(separated the crab topping from the vegetables and nachos) Entrees: Shrimp Alfredo with linguini(no shrimp or Alfredo sauce) broccoli and roasted corn tossed with olive oil. Queen Crab legs steam pot(no sausages). To say it was a Friday night, I was really surprised it wasn’t overly crowded. The entire crew did an amazing job, was very attentive and the atmosphere was good. The food was decent but they should lighten up on the salt.
