La Gata Golosa

Not got at all… I ordered one burger and two hotdogs. They were delivered quickly since I live a block away from the restaurant. The presentation was disgusting!!! And it was cold. I couldn’t even touch it. I called right away to complaint about it, the girl was nice but not helpful. She offered to change the food for something else, only if I returned the food. OK sure, are they gonna try to resell it? Very likely.

This place is my wife and i fav place in broadway elmhurst

This place deserves no stars. Great disappointment. I ordered a couple times from here, the bread always gets mushy and wet. It’s disgusting. The menu says one thing, they always send another. The food from here is not all that great & expensive.

It’s would have been 5-​star review if service was faster but I thought their food, Colombian-​style «fast» food, was pretty good.
We came here because of a Unilocal Deal, $ 10 for $ 20. I would have never known about this place if not for the Unilocal deal even though its one and a half blocks from me. I never go this direction but since it’s that close, I might now.
We actually ordered a burger and Patacon but there was a mixup and the girl by the counter thought we ordered a hot dog and Patacon. Either way the food was good. I would just double check next time. The service was a bit slow and mixed up. I don’t think the girl working at the counter has been working too long but I have to say she is very sweet.
I had the Patacon Mixto. Which is a large fried tostones (green plantain) topped with guacamole and then a mixture of three meats: pork belly, pulled beef and pulled chicken. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hard to eat, doesn’t matter where you buy a Patacon, it’s hard to eat. At La Gata Golosa they add guacamole to their Patacon, awesome addition.
Their Colombian-​style hot dog is actually pretty yummy. They used potato stix instead of crushes potato chips, I liked this very much. I like that they used a sandwich roll instead of a regular hot dog roll. Makes it a heftier sandwich to hold onto the ingredients better. The hot dog plus toppings were good… there was pineapple!
I want to try their burger next.
My bf decided to get his own Unilocal deal after trying my deal. He wants to try it too.
I have a feeling we are going to be regulars. It was slow service, sweet girl, and very yummy.

I saw the Unilocal offer online and decided to give it a try for lunch. It took about 10 minutes to explain the Unilocal offer to the cashier and finally I was able to put my order in with the offer.
I ordered the patacones with guacamole and chicharron. I wasn’t amazed with the dish not my acquired taste for food. I should have tried a different meat type because it was really hard to eat. Both the Chicharoon and plantain were very dry and not much flavor. The only think I like was the guacamole.
My wife took the safe route and ordered the Philly cheese steak. Not the best but not something to complain about given it is a Colombian fast food joint.
I also ordered the Raspado for desert which consist of Ice, raspberry concentrate, and condensed milk. The drink was very sour at first due to the raspberry and got better as the ice melted and mixed with the condensed milk.
Overall, a good place to find cheap eats and they gave us free frozen yogurt samples which was actually really good.

Wanted to go to King of tacos down the street today, a Sunday morning at 11am, but they werent open, so we came here instead.
I am SO glad we did.
We were the first people there, and they gave us complimentary fro-​yo as we waited. It was quite delicious.
I got the Patacon with chicharron and guacamole which is basically a huge toston (green fried plantain), slathered in guacamole (i like mine limey, and it was perfect! Had chopped red onions in it too). The chicharrones were very crunchy, no mushiness to them at all, and a bit too salty if they had been alone, but they were perfect with the guacamole.
My boyfriend got El Goloso burger combo. Came with a huge portion of fries, and a soda. The burger has two patties, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, chips, blackberry sauce and comes with a quail egg. I think i got it all. It was HUGE. He could not get his mouth around it. He also did not even want to share. Very satisfied, although the patties were slightly overcooked at well done instead of medium (they do not ask how you want it, it is not a formal restaurant, but he, the meat slob, was still extremely satisfied with the burger).
The reason they did not get 5 stars was the wait. We waited a good amount of time, but the girl serving us was sweet, couteos, the place was clean, the food was delicious, and I almost did not mind waiting so long.
I will be back, whether ordering delivery or trying something new. The fro-​yo alone might make me take the walk home instead of the bus so i can have some.
