Johnny’s Snak Shak

I must drive by this place four times each week, but I never stopped before today. Can you say WHOLE-​BELLIED CLAMS ($ 17, big portions served with fries and slaw)? Seating inside and out, the ice cream selection looks even better than the menu. The clams were nice, piping hot and not soggy. When clam season us ocer, I’ll try the prime rib sandwich. Family-​friendly, and… heck, just plain friendly. Support a local, try this place.

We spend the summer in East Hampton. Today we were looking for something close to the lake that everyone in our family would like. Johnny’s was perfect. The food was good and reasonably priced. Service was quick and courteous. We will be back here again!

WOW! Don’t just drive by this road side gem! Best sandwiches in burgers I have had in a while. The burgers are fresh packed in the morning and you can tell! Since my 1^st visit I went 3 times in a week! So I have had the Prime Rib sandwich it was outstanding, the Ribs they were great, and a BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger that far surpasses Plan B Restaurants! All the sides we had from Onion Rings to Sweet Potato fries are the best that I know of in town. The food is high quality and you will know it as soon as you taste it. This is my new go to location in town. My entire family can find something they like. I am looking ofrward to going back and discovering more of the menu.
Only Negative: No Bathroom.

We stopped last night on our way home from visiting in Mansfield. We drive this route often and have never stopped anywhere to eat. Last night we hadn’t eaten and we decided to take a chance and stopped at Johnny’s Snak Shak for what we figured would be a hot dog and ice cream. What a pleasant surprise!!! We couldn’t believe the extensive menu!!! They were having a rib special for $ 10.99 which included a huge portion of delicious ribs, great french fries and homemade cole slaw. Absolutely delicious! The ribs were so meaty and the meat fell of the bone. It was so tender. My husband had a foot long hot dog with chili and fries. He was so happy to find a place that serves chili with meat and no beans!!! He thoroughly enjoyed his meal! The owner really cares about his customers being satisfied with the food. He came out and spoke to each customer to make sure they were happy with their meals. We will be going back to try other menu items! Very good food and reasonable prices!

I had the sweet potato fries & they were very good along with a steak sandwich with cheese, peppers, and onions (boy am I stuffed). What I had was pretty good. The inside is nice and larger than it looks.

Lived in the area for 2 years and never tried this place out, stopped in under the new ownership and while the outside is underwhelming the inside is very nice and clean. Nice menu, got a Belltown Burger with sweet potato fries, burger meat was fresh and delicious. Toppings well cooked/​seasoned as well. I will definitely come here for lunch more often.

I am sorry we didn’t try this place sooner. Previous owners don’t come close to what Johnny does today. We shared an order of whole belly clams and we couldn’t even finish them. It was served with whole belly clams, clam strips, French fries, tarter sauce and coleslaw. We normally don’t eat fried food but this was worth it. The service was great and the place is very cute inside. While we ate there was a constant flow of people. We’ll be back.

Had the bacon cheesburger with fries and onion rings. This place is very clean and the food was pretty good at a reasonable price. I will recommend and return if in the area for sure. Keep up the good work.

I stopped for the first time for a pair of steak and cheese. Firstly, John has really cleaned the place up. It is very nice inside with tables inside and out back. Do not judge it based on the previous owners. I’ll start with 4 stars as a road side stand, like Harry’s and Higgy’s, but I need more stops. It is not the best cheese steak I’ve ever had, but I’ll put it in the top 10. It’s a good rool but not great. I’m going to try the pastrami next.

They say the specialty is the steak and cheese. I had that with fries and a drink. The best steak and cheese I’ve ever eaten. Now they don’t call it a Philly Cheesesteak. That’s good because it’s not. It is a steak and cheese, wtih mushrooms and a special sauce. The fries are great and so is that sandwich. Can’t wait to have more from them. The young lady who waited on me was very nice also. Nice clean dinning area. Eat inside or out.
