We had ordered take out a few times from the one in Morristown that was pretty good, and my Dad works close to this one, so we met him here one night recently for dinner. My husband and I brought our son(13 mo) along and we sat on the side without table service. My son was a bit fussy so we quickly figured out what we wanted and headed to the counter to place our order. There were a few people waiting ahead of us as I overheard the young girl working say that their computers were down at the moment. They started taking people’s orders by hand and bringing them to the kitchen. We ordered 2 slices of margarita pie, and a small side of penne with butter(for my son) — and I asked how long Stuffed Shells would take. They told me probably 10 – 15 minutes, which I agreed to but asked if they could send the other food out first so that my son and husband didn’t have to wait too long to eat. After waiting about 15 minutes, I added a bowl of chicken soup onto our order(for my son) hoping that something would come out soon. After another 10, I went up and asked the 2 young girls the status of our order — or at least my son’s pasta since it was just with butter. Without even looking up they told me they would let me know when it was ready, and snickered as I walked back to the table. After another 10 minutes when I was getting clearly visibly annoyed, I got pretty much the same reaction. Of course all of the food came out at the same time(about 45 minutes later). Now I know that they were having some computer issues, but I still don’t see a) why some pasta with melted butter took so long, and b) more importantly, why they were being so rude to me. It’s a shame that the service was so bad because the food was pretty good.

I ordered lunch today @ 10:50 a.m. for delivery. When placing my order I requested it be delivered by 12:00 p.m. #1 My delivery got here at about 12:15 #2 I ordered the NY Sirloin Steak Salad with avocado, arugula, anise, and lemon dressing. The steak was delicious; however, everything else was not. There was 1 slice of avocado– DONOT list avocado as an ingredient to a salad if you aren’t planning on using at least ¼ of an avocado. Anise?! What was in my plate was«bulb fennel,» not«anise”– which is a plant that is used for its seeds for flavoring. Regardless, it seemed dry and was cut into large slices — there was about 5 large pieces in my salad. Lastly, whatever dressing I received was not«lemon dressing.» The dressing tasted just like orange juice. I am very disappointed. For a $ 14.95 salad, I expected a lot more! I was hoping to find a descent place close to work to order lunch more often; unfortunately, I will not be ordering from this establishment.

This was my 3rd trip to this restaurant, but the first time I tried the seafood sit down restaurant attached to the pizza place. I should have stuck with the pizza side of the house. Saturday night, expectedly busy. But the tables are so jammed into the restaurnat, I felt sorry for the wait staff squeezing through the aisles. I had Chicken parm with a side salad rather than pasta. It was ‘all right’. Not great but ok. I also had a soft drink. Large glass, filled with ice. We had to ask for bread, though other tables that arrived after us already had the bread on their tables. Asked for more soda, got another mostly ice filled glass. When the bill arrived, I learned that free refills aren’t part of this establishments behavior. $ 2 per glass, about 8 ounces of soda all together for $ 4. My partner had 2 appetizers. Spare rib tips was one of them. I guess they were finger food but the ribs were cut into bite sized pieces including the bone. Not sure how we were supposed to eat that. TVs all over the place; music blaring(way too loud), noise from all of the guests, my head was pounding by the time I left. Stick to the pizza side of the house.

Beware of sanitation. I ordered takeout tonight. They had some mixup and gave my pizza slices to someone else who took it to their table, realized the mistake, then brought it back. They then said oh here is your pizza. I asked for fresh pizza not one that had been handled by other customers. They grumbled and made me fresh pizza and promptly put the old pizza back under the heat lamps! Not cool.

I am happy to update this review. As recommended by the owner, I ordered in advance for lunch today. I called yesterday around 4pm for a lunch delivery to my office today at 11:30. The order made it ONTIME and of course was very delicious. We got the buffalo chicken today, I could of had a tad bit more buffalo sauce but was still delicious. We really enjoy your pizza; thank you for reaching out to me with your recommendation on advance ordering.

We eat here way too much! Yet with that being said the thin crust pizza is amazing, the shrimp cocktail is always super fresh and you can still order it on the pizzeria side. My favorite salad is the Jerry salad hold the onions and add grilled chicken or steak. My dad always gets the chicken parm and my husband loves the cavatelli w broccoli-hope I spelled it right !!! They will also customize any dish for you and I feel it’s always a solid meal!!!

5 stars just based on the specialty slices they have available at any given time. The slices are huge and are always on point when we order them. Their buffalo chicken slice and rigatoni vodka slice are my personal favorites. You can’t go wrong with this place. Only downfall is I wish they were on the other side of town closer to my house.

I have ordered from godfather in the past, never really a great pizzeria but convenient. Tonight the food was absolutely horrid took over an hour to come I could’ve gone out to a restaurant had dinner and then back before the food actually arrived and paid less. Had the hot antipasto for two which look like a pile of crap! I will never order from godfather again! I’ve been living here for 24 years and from time to time I’ve ordered from that pizzeria but this was absolutely the worst meal I’ve ever had. It’s a Sunday night not late early in the evening late afternoon and it still turned out to be crap. Do yourself a favor order from any place else

Consistently good pizza, apps, and salads. Our go-to when we’re in the area. Love the plain and specialty pies! Have not tried the seafood restaurant, but plan to. Take out is on point and they have a large eat in area that’s good for casual business and families. Haven’t tried delivery.

A customer of mine wanted this for lunch, so I obliged to place an order. I can’t say how much everyone else enjoyed their food but we did get delivery… and the entire order was not correct and delivery guy had to return. Additionally, I got a ceasar salad($ 7.95) and asked for a crab cake on top($ 4). They charged me for and sent 2 crab cakes($ 8). So my salad wound up costing about $ 16.00 and it was the smallest ceasar salad I’ve seen. I was at another Italian restaurant end of last week and what I received for a $ 4 side salad was probably more than their $ 8. The crab cakes did taste good but were small and flat… making them a rip off. I won’t be obliging to order from here anymore.

–THISREVIEWISFORTHESEAFOODRESTAURANTONLY.- The Italian/pizzeria part of the Godfather seems to be pretty divisive in terms of reviews, but I enjoyed my time at their seafood restaurant(the door on the right as you enter). I recently developed a love for raw oysters and was on the hunt for an affordable raw bar and am so glad I found this place. Less than $ 2 per oyster is a great deal to me and they were really good. We ordered a seafood pasta dish and the lobster bisque as well. The seafood pasta was good. The lobster bisque came in a bowl that was way larger than I expected. The bisque was good in terms of texture, but could have used more lobster as the flavor didn’t really come out. We ordered a couple of drinks which were STRONG. I’m talking drinks that are sound super fruity girly on paper, and came out like they were meant for vodka-hardened Russians. Good if all you care about is bang for your buck, not so great if what you really want are balanced drinks and looking to drive home sober. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern and they have a nice bar area with multiple TVs. This is going to be my regular place to satisfy raw bar cravings from now on.

I just finished my meal at god father of East Hanover. Service was extremely slow. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap at the counter«to-go» but it took 20 minutes to make. My order was prioritized below the other patrons that were ordering pizza and I was told to wait so I could be taken behind 6 other customers ordering pizza. The wrap itself was mediocre but I already had a bad taste in my mouth by the time I received my order. My advice is to skip this place unless you want a skimpy slice to go.

Here’s the deal… one of the best pizza/Italian food places I’ve eaten within NJ! They have 2 sides of the establishment. One more dinner/bar. The other more of a counter pizzeria area. Truly one of the pizzas I’ve ever had! When I order onsite the food is a 5… Sometimes the delivery orders are«average» … Still love the place!

As for the Pizza served at the Godfather, I couldn’t hardly understand what the big deal about it was. I’m sure the Seafood and other meal options are good for I haven’t tried it. I came here with my sister and old man, because my sister was craving a good old, nice, fast serving of pizza. It was a place we’ve always seen and thought it was another Asian restaurant along the strip. I had the Sicilian, and I was rather disappointed because the crust was burnt and the bottom crust was tough and hard. My sister and dad had a Buffalo slice, something that you would expect to give a kick in your mouth but they were also disappointed. The pizza was floppy and dry. Now of course, I thought, wow, the Village Trattoria in South Orange would never serve Buffalo slices, or any slices for that matter, in this manner. Above all, it was overpriced($ 4.50 for one buffalo slice) and shameful in flavor. I did however like the people who attended us at the counter. Nice people lol

An absolutely fine Italian pizza and fast/comfort food joint. Pasta, salads, sandwiches, appetizers, mains, all done well and reasonably priced. Portion sizes are more than adequate. The selection is substantial, the service is fairly quick and you get a good meal. It’s pretty loud and a touch cramped. Its a great place for families and kids, but whe the food is decent enough, it’s not a fine dining place. Parking is not a problem, as its in a strip mall with a large lot. It’s your basic NJ pizza/Italian joint. No frills, but a good meal.

Disappointing. Twice in a row! So we were in town and saw some good reviews for this place so we decided to order 2 pies for delivery .5 miles down the road. We did the buy one pie and get a plain pizza ½ off. Both thin crust. veggie pizza– SO soggy! Pizza fell apart and the dough was undercooked and soaked. Cheese pizza– no flavor! ½ the price = half the flavor. We called to explain the situation and the(manager? Owner?) first said«Well it’s a veggie pizza and thin crust, I’m not surprised it came out like that. All the sauces and juice from the veggies could make it soggy like that» WHYTHEHELLWOULDYOUSERVEITTHEN?! So the generosity and kindness of Godfather offered to remake us the pizza himself. One traditional crust and one thin crust. 2nd round review. First of all both were thin crust. We didn’t even receive a traditional crust as he said he would make us. Both pizzas had oregano sprinkled on top which looked promising. MY oh my was it deceiving. The taste was not as bland this time BUT both pizzas were super soggy, and hard to pick up and eat! We decided to just give up on this place. We decided pizza from a community center’s pool or bowling alley pizza would have been put together better.

My favorite pizza place probably in the USA. Each time I arrive here the aroma of pizzas, pastas, and the breads keep me drooling until I actually have something in my mouth… with that said, lets get to the food! I tried multiple different slices here and I must say that the thai chili topping, chicken carbonara topping, and Chicken Ceasar salad topping are my top 3 go to slices. Each pizza slice has a nice thick crunchy crust with a nice solid base to hold the cheese and heavenly toppings. Upon each bite you’ll taste the flavorful explosions in your mouth and then a delightful sounding crunch through the crunchy dough. This is a man slice. Enjoy it slowly and don’t rush the goodness. There is also a bar next door where you can grab drinks for the after party ;) bathroom is located in bar section too!

We had a great lunch over there. From the bread to Mac cheese appetizer to the pasta entrée, everything tasted so yummy and delicious. We were given two kinds of bread to start: regular and garlic. I loved the garlic bread so much and ended up eating all of them. Sodas and Juices were about $ 2 each, which was pretty good compared with other restaurants in the area. We were sitting in the restaurant dinning room and I noticed there was an other section of the restaurant which looked like a pizza place. My son ate so much food that he got stuffed. But on the way out we saw the pizza place he said he’s hungry again. Had the take out pizza before they were petty good. Will definitely come back and try more pizza next time.
