I love this place. Shala is the best. I won’t go anywhere else. I moved to Queens five years ago, and I still drive out here to get my hair cut. The staff is also very nice and welcoming, and I feel like a million dollars when I leave there.

Shalah gave me the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. I showed her a picture of a long bob and she gave me exactly what I asked for ! I have never been so happy with a haircut. I won’t go to anyone else !

I first started coming to this salon about 3 years ago. I am a latina woman with curly hair, not kinky but curly, thick black hair. The owner Shalah, aside from being really nice and the salon having a very warm atmosphere, really knows what she is doing. I am extremely picky about my hair and every time I leave this place I am happy. So much so, that I also take my mom to get her hair done there.
My mom got a brazilian straightening treatment that not only left her hair silky smooth but also made it possible for her to blow straight her hair in less time and she is 60. I should also mention that Shalah actually got my hair to go blonde in a way that I never imagined possible and every time i get my hair done at Deja Vu I get compliments.

I saw Fatima (spelling?) earlier today for a wax — my whole life I’ve gone to a pricey salon that convinced me sugaring was way less painful than wax. And since they’re practically the only place that offers sugaring, I was stuck with them. Smart, right?
Today, however, my world was changed when I called up Deja Vu, asked them about sugaring (they’d never heard) but I think it was the owner who told me, «Fatima could see you, she uses soft wax… and she’s pretty damn good.» That sounded promising, as did the price.
IT DIDN’T HURT HALF AS MUCH AS SUGARING! I’m still in shock. It’s so much cleaner, less painful, and Fatima is really sweet! Plus the price was excellent. I booked my next appointment. I’m not looking back!

I got my hair cut and highlighted by Shalah, the owner, and she was so sweet and friendly and did a great job with my hair. I have enough hair for about 4 people and it’s very thick and straight, so it can be hard to find someone that knows how to work with it– but after I went here I received so many compliments from strangers, asking me where I got my hair cut. The prices are very affordable and Shalah gave me so many useful tips for styling my hair. She also recommended a volumizing product that I can’t live without now– she’s just amazing! I definitely recommend her :)
