Willam’s St Fish Market was my first ever restaurant experience in East orange. That being said, I will keep it 100… I really like it! Well at least what I had. Ironically, I didn’t order fish. I opt for the chicken thighs instead. I must say, it was moist as all hell! For a $ 1.50 it satisfied my inner carnivore. The shop itself, is a small convenience store. The owners are friendly and it appears to be a family business. I’m all for supporting small businesses especially if the service and product is dope!

The best fried fish in Essex County!
This «hole in the wall» fish market used to be Blackwells. Mr. Blackwell is a legend in East Orange. He opened the place many years ago. I go back some 35 years… legend has it that Mr. Blackwell loved to fish and would bring his catch back early in the morning… by noon the fish was hot and waiting for his customers… he retired and sold the store to some Koreans who have managed to continue on the tradition. The fish is just that good and the prices can’t be beat!

I was in the mood for some «Black Folk» fried fish. So I checked Unilocal for some advice. Of course my Unilocal family didn’t let me down. I really enjoyed the fish. It’s fresh, seasoned well and you can share with a friend. I couldn’t believe the price. I only spent about $ 10 and had 7 pieces of fish and potato wedges. Not fancy but definitely fresh and good :)

Best hot fish sammich you will ever eat.

Fried to perfection! The fish is fresh and so is the batter and grease. The seasoning is just right. It was pure perfection! My GF has been coming to this place since forever. She says there’s a new owner (well not new anymore, just not the original owner), but she maintained the same recipe and the same standards. We ordered a «4 piece» of fish, but much more came in the box. GF says they’ll add more pieces if they feel the pieces are small. Check out the pics… they don’t look small, do they?
