I absolutely love this place. I have dined here now 5 times and every time the food is amazing. From the bread rolls and butter, the unique apps, the exquisite main courses, the delicious desserts and the amazing service. They treat everyone like V.I.P. I love that it’s local and close to my home. The only critique I would give it the décor needs a makeover. It’s lacking a clear identity. There isn’t much on the walls and the bar needs updating. Also, the location is a bit odd. I love that it’s in east Patchogue, I just wish they had a better location. Don’t like the mini mall. But even still, it still feels like you are somewhere special and feel like you are having a fine dining experience. I highly recommend this place for any occasion or for a special treat. You will not be disappointed!

I really love coming here. Location is more different than other restaurants. It is inside a shopping parking lot but you can’t read a book by its cover. Once you are inside and you have the food then you will come back again and again. I really like how they treat you here and once again the food here is A plus plus. Customer service is great here and I can’t wait to bring my wife and family back.

I highly recommend this place. The food and the service is terrific. The décor could be updated and so could the bar but overall a very good experience.

Last time I went to Chachama Grill was just about 2.5 years ago — I was not impressed. After trying to book a small party fell through at another restaurant someone suggested that we go to Chachama. I reluctantly agreed. Boy was I surprised by both the look and later by the food at the new Chachama. The restaurant has had a face lift and looks great. The«test» menu that we tried before booking the party was absolutely great. I had the scallops and the dish was exquisite. The manager Helene and she could not have been more accommodating to help design a menu within our price range and number of seats. There is no separate room but they do have fold out separators that does provide some privacy and cuts down the noise travel.

Been here several times. The restaurant is family run and the people are warm, friendly and attentive. Momma greats you at the door and you almost expect a hug when you leave. The food is great! It’s a big surprise to find this hidden gem in strip center in Patchogue but it’s worth the try. PS Early bird specials before 6. Great deal on upscale meal.

Food is excellent in terms of its quality, presentation. Oysters Rubio are a must try. The cocktails are prepared very well. The establishment is very clean, service is great. Always a pleasant experience dining here. Have dined here many times and we love bringing our friends with us, especially if they’ve never been before.

Excellent restaurant in Suffolk County. Fresh, well prepared food. Not the place to go if you’re in a hurry. Lovely meal and experience. Will return.

This place is one of my favorites! Unilocal actually recommended this place and based on the reviews I gave it a shot. It is a small unassuming yet quaint little gem in a shopping center. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, not overly fancy or trendy. The food is delicious and unique and as for the service, every time I’ve gone, no matter who serves me it always feels like I’m being served by the owners themselves. This will be my go to spot for a guaranteed great meal for some time to come I suspect.

This place was recommended to me by someone I work with. Came here for our anniversary. Excellent choice. The warm bread and the butter with herbs was out of this world. The food was perfectly prepared. My wife had the rack of pork. She loved it. I had the long island duck breast. Excellent. We skipped appetizers because we didn’t want to eat too much. But the portions are relatively small so next time I want to check out the appetizers because they looked really interesting. We had tiramisu and the warm chocolate cake and cappuccinos for dessert. Small place. Service was very good. A little pricey but honestly, since we don’t go out for this kind of dinner that often, I would rather pay a little more for a small portion of something excellent than pay less for an oversized portion of something mediocre. Will definitely be back.

Honestly, I can’t remember any restaurant I enjoyed as much as I did Chachama Grill. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the appetizers(try the Oysters Rubio) through dinner(recommend the duck) and desert(Crème brûlée). Service was outstanding! Chachama Grill is my new favorite restaurant.

Chachama Grill. I won’t say this was the most amazing meal of my life, but it’s impossible to say it isn’t a good spot… a lil pricey and a pretty dull location, gives way to spot on food, cooked to perfection, doing things the way they should be done. Interesting choices and decent to spotty service; Nice people. This hidden gem is backed by chef Rubio and man oh man does he know what he’s doing, my taste buds could use a bit more pop but overall Chachama is set to please, so if you have a few extra bucks this week, treat yourself to this diamond in the rough.

You can’t help but want to love this place and it all starts with the sweet woman who runs the front. The food is solid but doesn’t break any new ground. I wish there were more Latin inspired dishes because most are simply new American. The prices are definitely on the high side and the wine list is on the VERY high side. You better know your wines because some are marked up over 4x retail value and are not very good. There were only 2 reds less than $ 50 and most were over $ 100. I believe the best way to try Chachama is during one of their weeknight price fixed menus. The sections are great and the price is very reasonable.

Wow. I’m blown away by this place. First, this place epitomizes the«don’t judge a book by its cover» lesson, or more aptly, «don’t judge a restaurant by its surroundings.» When my friend and I pulled up to the mediocre strip mall in which this establishment is located, we looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Still, we went in and braced ourselves. The service was lovely. Our server was so polite, kind and accommodating. We came on a Sunday night, so the restaurant was very empty. We were promptly seated and had the menu explained to us. We decided to go with the $ 38 prix fixe menu, which included an appetizer, a main entrée, and a dessert(one of the best bargains I’ve ever found in my life). For the appetizer, I went with the Surf and Turf, which consists of cured filet mignon, crabmeat salad, and horseradish cream. The cured filet mignon was so tender and flavorful. Quite astounding. It’s really hard to perfect cured filet mignon, and this place exceeded my expectations. The crabmeat salad was so delicate and lovely — the horseradish cream complimented it so well without masking the true taste of fresh crab. And also, the presentation was fantastic, which I appreciated. Onto the main entrée — the pan seared dry sea scallops, which was described on the menu as a mix of «scallops, fresh fettucine, artichokes, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms and truffle oil.» I don’t recall the artichokes and I think there was another sort of yam thrown in the mix as well as sugar snap peas, but regardless of the ingredient swaps, this dish was delightful. I can say with confidence that these were the freshest, most tender, and best prepared scallops I’ve ever had. They were so juicy and flavored. Wow. The fettucine was excellent too — not that gross, heavy fettucine one often encounters at more mediocre restaurants. This fettucine was flavored lightly and smoothly and it did not detract from the scallops, which I appreciated. Finally, the presentation of this dish was also just fantastic — balanced and plated in a way that it was very easy to eat balanced bites of all the elements. Last but not least, the dessert — caramelized peaches. The peaches came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, strawberry coulis, and a stack of phyllo pastry. The ice cream was delectable — not too cloy and perfectly creamy. The strawberry coulis was a lovely compliment to the peaches, which were grilled very nicely. But my favorite part was the phyllo pastry. It was amazing. So light and flaky and it almost seemed to melt in your mouth. It was truly a treat. The juxtaposition of all the different textures and temperatures and flavors made this dessert dish unforgettably delicious. Officially my second favorite dessert of all time(after Aquavit’s Arctic Birds Nest) — which is quite an accomplishment, considering the exorbitant amount of desserts I’ve consumed in my lifetime. Chachama is definitely a special restaurant. I only hope that it can find another home in Manhattan/Brooklyn, where I feel like it would do very well. The strip mall that it is located in definitely serves as a misguiding façade for the amazing food behind the door. Furthermore, I’m not sure just how many people in the city of Patchogue are interested in fine dining of this level(and price — as this place is considerably more expensive than surrounding restaurants). When my friend and I went, it was basically completely empty. The host said it was an «off night» and that a lot of their customers were Manhattan residents returning back to the city from a weekend in the Hamptons. I want to see this restaurant do well, and I feel like just relying on Hampton-goers and the few affluent citizens in Patchogue might just not cut it. On behalf of Manhattan, please bring Chachama to the city!

I have been to this restaurant over 20 times since they have been in existence and not one of my meals has been subpar. Everything here is excellent. At a recent dinner here with three others who ate here on a regular basis, we all concluded that Chachama was one of the the best restaurant that they had been to on the South Fork and certainly the best in the Patchogue area.

This past Friday, Bonnie G and I trekked to Chachama Grill for Restaurant Week to see what we may have been missing since our last visit. Nothing has changed… the ambiance, service and quality of food are all outstanding. I was truly miffed on our last visit when they discontinued the week end prixe fixe menu, which afforded us the opportunity to try the food without going bust. The RW menu was sparse but gave nice choices none the less; For Appys we both had the Penne: roasted cauliflower, crispy bread crumbs, bacon, capers, baby arugula and garlic oil… good to the last fork full… There were 3 mains offered: Short Ribs, Fettuccine and Swordfish. We chose the Swordfish… was delicious… nice thick cut, seasoned to perfection… mmmmm! For dessert we had Napoleon and mixed Sorbet… Both delicious and fun to eat! We have been fans of Elmer Rubio since his days at Mill River Inn in Oyster Bay… His fare is still delicious and worth the occasional 40 minute ride. We would certainly visit more often if there were more prix fixe deals to keep the price down, and I dont mean a 4 – 6 pm PF on Fridays and Saturdays… We want dinner, not lunch!. His food is fantastic and we would love to have more occasions to try it.

This restaurant is truly special. The food is one of the best on LI, in my opinion. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. It has always been superb, the service is very professional and old school. Try the oysters Rubio! And the melt in your mouth dry sea scallops! Try everything! It’s phenomenal. They have an awesome prix fixe menu Sunday through Thursday and up to 6PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Pick any starter, entrée, and dessert for $ 38. What a yummy deal!

Never got anything here I didn’t like. Steak, lamb, oysters, duck. The food will blow your mind! They always nail the temperatures on their food, so if you ever hear someone say something is undercooked, the customer clearly doesn’t know what a medium steak looks like. From app to desert, every bite will make your taste buds do somersaults. Even their drink menu is amazing. Got a blueberry mojito that was out of this world. Lastly when I brought my kids here last week(4⁄2015) the hostess was so good to my children that they have made me a lifetime customer. So if by some chance life takes me away from Long Island, when I come back for a visit I will make sure I stop here for a dinner. It is pricey so be prepared to spend some money. But it is worth every penny! Thank you Chachama for so many excellent meals and most of all treating my kids so nicely!

Walk in the door and you immediately recognize this is a top — quality restaurant with a great chef and crew. You can tell by the delicious smells, and you can see it as the dishes come out and on the faces of the patrons. All in a small footprint, in a strip mall. Quality comes from the caliber of the people and the ingredients used. It’s that simple, but so many other restaurants fail to get it right. Raise your standards, try Chachama. Hold every other restaurant you patronize to this level of quality and the world will be a better place. Editor’s note: I do not know anyone economically involved in this restaurant and this review is based solely on my dining experience with friends.
