we have eaten here several times. it seems we wind up here for breakfast the day after Christmas quite a bit. food is very good at both dinner and breakfast. I have had a couple good catfish here. Today I had a Denver omlette and some hashbrowns. vegetables in the ommelete were fresh and semi crispy. hashbrowns were crisp and browned on the outside, moist and starchy inside. Service was friendly and on top of things and is fairly consistent. I dont recall ever having to wait for a refill, check back or check down… or attitude. the Galley is a solid choice.

The Galley is a favorite place for lunch or dinner. We love the clam strips. The fish sandwich was great too. Many options to satisfy anyone’s appetite.

This is a great place. We stopped with a large group and were greeted by friendly service and good food. We will definitely be returning.

This review is dedicated to the topless mermaid found on the south wall by the entrance… We stopped in for dinner after driving past this place hundreds of times and thought we’d finally give it a try. We ordered the sampler appetizer that included potato skins, chicken strips and cheese sticks. The skins were great, the strips were good but the cheese sticks were over cooked and dry. I ordered blacked chicken and my wife ordered fried shrimp. When the chicken arrived it was very small, comparable to a 4oz filet. I was okay with that since I had an appetizer and the plate was heaping full of fries however I knew there was a problem when I cut into the chicken as it cut like rubber. Tasted that way too! In fact I didn’t even finish eating the tiny little thing. My wife thought the shrimp was okay but it was previously frozen and not hand battered. Overall service was pretty good and the scenery was good but the food was so so.

This little pub has an excellent atmosphere and great food. I have never had a bad dish or experience. The food is simple — burgers, fried fish, fried chicken, sandwiches and fries — but all so good and satisfying. It’s a great place to go anytime.

Ate there last night for the first time and wished I hadn’t waited so long to go. I sat at the bar due to the trivia machines. I ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner. It came with vegetable(corn or green beans with bacon), choice of potato with an up charge for sweet potato fries, and Texas toast. Also ordered the fritters with our meal rather than as an appetizer. The chicken was very tasty and I love it whenever I can get corn as my vegetable. The fries were crinkle cut and okay. The fritters were amazing. The bartender was very friendly but found out he was just filling in. Great drinks and prices. The prices were very reasonable! I can’t wait to go back and try their other menu items and play trivia!

I have found myself here more than a couple times following a visit by boat to the glorious mud puddle known as the Illinois River(not quite the Long Island Sound but I will make do!). Great deck seating and plentiful eats and drinks. Bathrooms are large and easily accessible(hey, after a day on the river this is a a really important feature!). I have not yet been here early enough for breakfast but sounds like I should try! Everyone is really laid back and fun here, give it a try!

They were out of corned beef hash at breakfast! Coffee was OK, but plenty of refills. Out waitress was very good, and the sausage and biscuits were tasty as well.

Bar none, the best place for breakfast in central illinois. The french toast is amazing with the perfect balance of cinnamon, butter, and syrup all packaged into fluffy delicious toast. The biscuits and gravy are by far the greatest I have ever tasted. Warm, thick and savory gravy topped on the best buttery flakey biscuits makes for the most delicious breakfast of all time.
