Glad it’s closed. Absolute worst dining experience of my life. Kitchen problems the night we dined, but staff went out of their way to make sure my wife and I felt neglected as possible. Good riddance!

The side vegetables were either canned or frozen(canned corn in August?) and totally flavorless– swimming in a lukewarm bath of water. The lazy man’s lobster(yes, I am lazy) was a mush of wet Ritz crackers and slightly tough chunks of lobster meat. The french fries were frozen– and not great frozen. They were out of fried clams. This is the Cape in summer for goodness sake. Very few good beers on tap. Service was friendly, but she did forget the water. I do remember the Bee –Hive being better many years ago, but that may only be nostalgia. Oh well.

Went back a second time… Had the mussels special fantastic and had the swordfish which was good then the second night had Cracker Crusted Baked Sea Scallops with Citrus Sauce(Sweet, moist and fresh). Other table dishes looked delicious and went back empty… Dessert-Forget about it… that chocolate heated brownie thing with more melted chocolate in the middle with vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream then some other blueberry/raspberry crisp served warm with ice cream… Service both times was enjoyable from being seated to going out the door. Well done.

My friends and I recently had dinner here. The restaurant is quaint and cozy. They have a varied menu with numerous choices. I had French Onion Soup(yum) and fresh Broiled Cid with an orange butter glaze. The cod was one of the best pieces of fish I ever had. Absolutely delicious. My companions had a seafood sampler and a filet. All enjoyed their meals. They have a good variety of homemade desserts too. The the grape but pudding was good. Next time I’m in the area I would definitely go back.

I stand by my older review from a few years ago, Bee Hive is still as it ever was… great menu, cozy old world tavern atmosphere, and fantastic service. In summer get their salad with house dressing,(same secret recipe of creamy garlic and is that tahini i taste yum) and their generous lobster rolls. Tons of lobster meat, with mayo and celery for crunch. if you’re heading home over the sagamore on a sunday night, avoid the back up and get on 6A(beehive is just off exit 3) and stop for late lunch or early dinner!

My first reaction was disbelief that a gem like this could be so quiet during the 4th of July week. Been going here for many years and enjoy the atmosphere and the food, while could always be better, was never bad. Something is going on as the entertainer in the lounge was playing to an empty room and the dining rooms at dinner were empty. Something needs to be done. Family consensus is the chowder needs to be improved, nobody will order it it our clan. It is not the creamy, buttery New England style, as the menu states, but watery and bland. The fried seafood is fair, the chicken on our salads was dry and over cooked. I think a kitchen overhaul is in order. Having said this we will return as we always do and hope that we see an improvement in this great place that our family has shared great meals and made some great memories. We actually never minded waiting to get a table in the past. Hope to see the crowds again someday.

Very disappointed. My wife and I were down the Cape for the weekend. We visited on a Sunday night to a very empty parking lot but had eaten here years ago and loved it. Something has gone wrong. We started with chowder and it tasted like a potato stew. Lacked seasoning and clams including clam broth. One of the worst chowders I have had and I’ve had 100’s. The bread was also lacking flavor. They were I believe onion rolls but tasted strange. For our meals I had prime rib with baked potato and vegetable. The rib tasted like it was old and brought back to life to serve. It was very fatty and not«huge» at all as described by our waitress. Broccoli was disgusting and looked grayish green. Carrots and potato was fine. My wife had a blue cheese burger with fries and the color on the blue cheese was scary. She scraped it off and had a few fries and the meat only. Disgusting. I have never seen the color of food so indicate what was about to happen with taste. Even the chowder was the wrong color. The prime rib wax a mocha brown almost chocolate color. Very strange. The server was very nice but had very little training. Table was not cleared until asked and then when she did only the plates were removed leaving used placemats and napkins. Didn’t ask if we wanted anything else or desert. Very nice people but badly trained. We loved this place years ago but will never go back unfortunately.

Great spot to bring kids. Food is good — not spectacular, but ambience and drinks make up for it. Cozy and comfortable.

My husband keeps talking about the bee-hive tavern and that we should go there one day. Well, today we did because it’s father’s day. This is my first time there and as they say first impression lasts. It sure did for me. In fairness, the hostess and the staff are very friendly but that didn’t compensate for the lack of good savory food. The hostess informed us that it would be slow today because something happened. We didn’t mind. I ordered the Chicken Francaise with penned pasta. The pasta was not seasoned at all and it was not aldente. I like my pasta aldente! The chicken was bland and it needs more salt or something. My husband had a Reuben sandwich and he said he can get a better Reuben sandwich at a Deli somewhere. With this said, waiting a long time for our meal would be justifiable if the food they served was good. It was not cheap either. Personally, I probably wouldn’t go back there.

We went to this establishment to celebrate our Anniversary on Sunday May 18th. We had dined there once before and the food was worth the price paid. THIS time, however, not only was the food abysmal, the service was as well! We ordered the whole belly clam plate and the French dip. After taking our order, the server came back to inform us they had no clams and did my husband want something else. no menu was provided. The server recommended the shrimp. my husband said fine, the baked stuffed shrimp would be acceptable. We were given FRIED shrimp… no questions as to what starch we might have wanted. and the French dip resembled something I had fed our dogs that morning. This«dinner» cost us over 40 $…I would have gotten better food at Wendy’s. Likely better service too. We were starving as we had not had lunch in hopes of enjoying a good mid day meal. Otherwise, I would have walked out. Don’t waste your hard earned money.

I don’t normally write negative reviews but this experience was far below my and my guests expectations. The calamari appetizer was ok but nothing special. The crab cake appetizer was awful. One SMALL cake that was flavorless and EXTREMELY overpriced. No clams even though promoted all over the menu. The French onion soup was good but too sweet. The clam chowder was extremely watery and lacking clams. The scallops were really good as was the fried fish. The coleslaw however appears to be out of a bucket and not fresh. Our server Sandy while pleasant paid no mind to our declaration of disappointment with the appetizers and soups. Not even the simpliest apology was offered. She also allowed the table across from us to remain filthy and unbussed for our entire meal. Not something I like to have to look at while eating. Not a future visit for us.

After a long slow drive to the Cape this quaint pub was a sight for sore eyes! It is a British pub with an owner and staff who make you feel at home as you enter. The service was spot on and the food was delicious. We inquired about the local beer on tap and were rewarded with a Cape Cod Red. The perfect drink after being stuck on the highway for hours. I ordered the Pilgrim wrap — actual roasted turkey with a balanced amount of sweet and savory(cranberry sauce and homemade sage stuffing) wrapped in a warm tortilla. The French fries was were — crisp on the outside, soft on the inside with just the right amount of seasoning. My wife has the vegetable wrap and loved it. It was packed with fresh veggies with a dash of balsamic. She also raved about the fries. After lunch, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and order a house specialty, the Wild Turkey American Honey — Wild Turkey Bourbon infused with honey. Amazing doesn’t begin to describe it. Very smooth, not cloying and a great drink to sipped in a pub after a rough day or on a cold night by the fire. We will definitely return for the drinks, food and the people.

The.worst.food. period. I really hope the owners read these because it’s a great little place with potential. Feels like a traditional British pub, would be a great place to have a beer and relax. The food is just terrible and it’s not just my opinion. All our neighbors have had terrible food. I got a salmon burger thinking it might be like the store bought whole foods style. It was a frozen flat patty resembling something from middle school lunches then overcooked and greasy. They somehow made what should have been a healthy option inedible and horrible. My son had a steak, the result was about the same. Overcooked, greasy, terrible. Go and sit at the bar and drink beer only and you should have a decent experience.

My family and I stopped here for lunch recently. Both the hostess and waiter were very friendly. I ordered the fish and chips. My daughter got a crab cake and clam chowder. For the mere price of $ 17, I got four fish sticks and 20 French fries. The fish was either frozen or way over cooked because it was dry and almost yellow. The crab cake was mostly batter with little crab. The chowder had mushy potatoes(not a sign of freshness). My wife got the turkey Reuben. She was surprised to get bland deli meat on an $ 11 sandwich. informed the hostess on the way out. She was apologetic but offered nothing. It use to be great food. It was the worst meal we’ve had in a while. We won’t stop by again.

Stopped here because it was the first place we saw heading east on 6 after mini golfing. Very dark inside, but it was probably exaggerated by the very nice, bright day. Had all fried seafood meals, and they were served hot and quickly. Small beer selection. Would go back.

I used to come here with my mom and we always enjoyed ourselves in the pub atmosphere, the food was always excellent. We noticed this spring that it was closed for a while and were happy to see it is open again. I just had dinner in the bar area and was disappointed with the experience. The bartender was definitely nice and overly chipper as the owner was sitting at the bar on her laptop… how unprofessional! Really? No office? The menu is extremely limited now. I ordered a chowder and caesar with swordfish. The salad was pretty good, not outstanding. Your standard sysco ingredients. The chowder was disgusting. It was purred potatoes with loads of bay leaves. It tasted off… I didn’t finish it. It was so gross. The atmosphere was awkward. It wasn’t busy at all and the servers were over peppy hawks – maybe due to the owner sitting at the bar on her lap top? The owner needs to get some class and either ditch the laptop or get an office. I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Very unusual. Half the menu seems to be very standard food cooked around average or mediocre quality, and the other half is completely delicious. Specials always come out A+ from what I’ve seen, though they are very high in price(usually upwards of 30 dollars) compared to the standard menu items, which fall somewhere around your typical diner price range. There are some curious inconsistencies like the french fries, a very basic item, being some of the best on the cape, while the free bread is for the most part gag-worthy. Service was fine, and appears to stand up decently to the summer rush. The atmosphere is a bit odd, perhaps not suited to everyones taste. Resembles a tavern, but something about the kitschy bee theme in combination with the dimly-lit old building reminds me more of a summer camp cafeteria more than a cozy roadside pub. Definitely worth it if you’re seeking certain specials, such as the duck, but not recommended as a casual stop.

I hadn’t been here for a couple years… so we returned with moderate expectations. We were very surprised! First off, the staff was homey and very«Cape Cod». Prices were comparable to the area. The service wasn’t lightening fast, but hey, we weren’t in any rush! The place had a Colonial New England tavern charm, and the food was great. The calamari was cooked perfectly… and didn’t taste frozen. Everything was cooked perfectly actually in our party of 6. My Dad ate his entire prime rib… he loved it. My lobster pasta was super tasty… it had a ton of Lobster in it! The other dishes my family raved about was lobster quiche and stuffed lobster… all fresh and delish. Even the veggie side dish was good… and it had fresh carrots in it! The only suggestions I have are to add a couple more beer selections, and maybe some new wine glasses. Otherwise, we’ll be back.

Bar none, the worst restaurant on Cape Cod or possibly the country at this point. The Bee Hive used to be the hot spot to go to, the previous owners were friendly and the staff was some of the best around(this was about 7 – 8 years ago). When the Bee Hive transitioned to a new owner, he alienated the entire staff and one by one everyone quit, and I mean everyone. Some people had worked there for 20+ years. I guess the new guy decided that cutting corners to save money and sacrificing quality was necessary to make money? He was handed a thriving business with a loyal customer base and managed to completely destroy what once was a great restaurant. It is a rare occasion to see the parking lot fill up here now a days, and for good reason. Avoid this place at all costs, there are plenty of good places to eat if your on Cape towards the Town Neck end of Sandwich, another few miles down 6A. Don’t waste your money on the Bee Hive. Oh by the way, this place has one of the dirtiest kitchens around, I was a former employee many years ago and never ate the food there again after I saw it firsthand. How people don’t get sick is a miracle.
