Field of Terror is Absolutely the Best Halloween attraction in Central New Jersey!
We have been going here for over 5 years now and it is ALWAYS the most fun we have for Halloween! This year we went as a group of 9, the more people in your group, the more fun, and boy did we have fun!
The Killer Kornfield is sooooo scarey. Everywhere you turn there are monsters! And you have to climb through things and go over things. Everyone is screaming and laughing! And when it gets crowded you meet people in the other groups and that’s really fun too. We thought the hayride would be a bit more subdued (a welcome rest– we thought, lol!) but the monsters climb on the hay wagon and get right in your face — It’s terrifying in a great way! And they have this revolving tunnel thing that makes you crazy dizzy and it’s so cool! The haunted barn is also great. It’s a lot bigger than it looks and goes inside and outside and all around. It’s full of «demons» and they chase you a little and there’s that balloon thing that you have to push through that seems to never end. There’s also a fire pit outside which was a welcome warm up when it got a little cold. And the hot chocolate helped with that too!
As for food, the food court is great! The Englishtown Auction sausage guy is there and we had fried oreos and funnel cakes and all your regular carnival food. We had friends from the west coast with us and the funnel cakes were a big hit! And there’s a DJ and music which we loved. The actors are really fantastic, wearing great costumes and knowing exactly how to startle you and scare you. Kudos to the team that trains them. Their timing is amazing and they are sooo good!
We got VIP tickets to avoid the long lines and it was maybe a ten minute wait, just enough time to build anticipation for the terror that was to come! They say it’s a family run farm and the owner is there each evening running around scaring people too! I think we saw him.
But the one thing we don’t like (OK we love, lol) is those damn chainsaws –they are going to kill us one day lol! The sound the smell and the terror of it all … What a fun night! We loved everything and will definitely be coming back next year!

Went here two weekends ago and boy was this place packed to the max!!! So happy I got VIP tickets! This place was amazing, I had so much fun and many screams! Although there are only 4 attractions, they are LONG, so you get your money’s worth. So even with VIP tickets, I didn’t feel rushed. The corn maze was great, I love how interactive it is as you have to climb through things etc. The paintball zombie ride was so cool, I just wish there was some music playing because there was a lot of silence, and I wished the actors didn’t hide so much. The point is to get shot at, many of them would jump up and then go hide so you’re only able to shoot at them like twice. I know it may be hard to be shot at a bunch of times, but that is the point lol.
The only real negative of the night that could ruin it for many was that they sent too many people in at once so you could miss a lot of the scares. Luckily we were in the front on the line so we didn’t miss anything. But in the corn maze we had to keep stopping and waiting for people in front of us to go ahead a little more so that we are not missing the scares.
Anyways I had a blast, definitely some really scary parts! Loved everything! Will definitely be coming back next year!
BTW before the night begins you can go on a little hayride and go pumpkin picking, that was fun too!

Was there Saturday October 17 with my children. It was a BLAST. Hayride was scary and fun. Lines were very reasonable for a Saturday evening. Food from vendors was delish and music kept us grooving. We had such a great time that we came back the next night (Sunday) and brought friends. Cornmaze was definitely the highlight for our group. I unfortunately lost my car key enjoying the festivities and reported it to staff. The owner personally called me the next day saying the key was found and graciously opened the closed attraction at my convenience so I could retrieve my car. Heading back tomorrow eve with more friends! A+++

Went here last night. What a waste of money. Just went to do the haunted hay ride. Got there around 8.30. There was maybe 75 people in line ahead if us. The line didn’t move. I asked how many tractors were being used for the hayrides and was told 5. After waiting an hour a the line not moving I went to the pay station to ask for a refund. The young girl was very nice and called over an older gentleman. He was rude and arrogant and said he would not refund my money. I told him I was going to write a review and his response was go ahead. So I went back in line with the other 2 people I was with finally 2 hours later we got on the hayride. The wagon was only filled ¾ if the way. The ride did not even last 10 minutes and it was totally lame. Wasn’t the least but scary. Don’t waste ur money. Go to the Bates motel for awesome sets and pyrotechs.

The zombie paintball suck. They just stand and doesn’t even try to scare you. Its not worth $ 25

I wish I could rate this place but it’s 7:35 pm and we are still waiting for the hayride to start. Holy effin crap. Workers milling around like they could care less. Me and my kids got here early were first in line and have been waiting for hayride since 6:45. I bought the 5 attractions and don’t know if we will have time for all of them. Not one worker has informed us why we are delayed. They are all happily chatting with each other. Wow this place sucks. Unprofessional is being nice. About 7:20 on guy with a chainsaw came by the line but broke character a min later to start chatting with workers. Can’t believe I drove 90 min for this crap. 7:37 and still waiting.

Went to Field of Terror on 10÷18÷15. One of the better haunted attractions I’ve been to and worth the money. Out of the 4 attractions, I’d say only the hay ride was kinda lame, but only because I’ve been on better ones. But the other 3 made up for it. We started off with the corn field. Now, we got there at 6:35, got our coins and went on line at 6:50ish. Here’s my one complaint, I bought 7pm tickets, not sure if that was a misprint on the tickets I purchased on Living Social, but the attraction didn’t open til 7:30.
Well, after the wait, we were treated to a scary walk thru the cornfield. The setup was cool, and was frightened more than once. The other two walk thrus, the barn and Dementia were also good. The barn was larger than I thought at first sight, and Dementia 3D was trippy. I would recommend highly, but you can skip the hay ride or save it for last.
As we went on a Sunday, the lines weren’t too crazy. I read the reviews before going, and sounds like Friday and Saturday get packed. And one last thing, the concession stands were reasonably priced, which is always a plus.

Went here last night for the 4 attractions (hayride, corn maze, barn and dementia). My friends and I purchased the VIP tickets online to purposefully avoid the long ticket lines… Boy were we wrong. Apparently, you still have to wait on line for VIP tokens which is absurd. We spent $ 65 a person for the VIP tickets to AVOID lines… PLUS a $ 2.00 service fee! We spent at least 45 minutes on the VIP line waiting for our tokens. Those working security for the farm kept cutting the VIP line and allowing others in front. Also, don’t except any better parking for being VIP either.
The only upside to the VIP is your wait time for each attraction is minimized. Last night the corn maze had a regular wait time of 2 – 3 hours.
This year was my third time attending with my friends and we have all agreed we will not be back. They jam pack each attraction so there isn’t enough space between you and the group in front of you therefore minimizing the scare effect. All in all, not worth $ 65 a person.

I had a good time the first time I went here in 2013, but last year I had a different experience. Some of the younger actors get carried away when they’re trying to «scare» you. They should really be supervised. I watched two of them hold a woman against a fence while she struggled to get away. Her boyfriend kept saying «Okay that’s enough» while they ignored him and continued to do it.
Also, my friend and I waited in line for the hay ride for an hour and a half. When we got to the front, the ride was full and they wanted to seat us where we wouldn’t really be able to see anything. When we asked if we could wait for the next one, the woman running the ride got angry and said «Either sit there or go to the back of the line!» Unfortunately, I don’t think we’ll be back.

I’ve been to a lot of corn maze/​haunted houses over the years, and this is among the best! The corn maze was amazing — definitely the best part! Just the right amount of scary with awesome set-​ups!

If this review was only for the corn maze it would have gotten 5 stars. I frequent these attractions and the corn maze was the best I’ve ever seen. The hay ride was just okay. The barn and 3D attraction were cool. I personally recommend Shocktoberfest in PA. The actors there touch you which makes it ten times scarier.

It’s sort of has become a tradition for my friends and I to head over to Field of Terror and get in the spirit of Halloween. Although to be perfectly honest we just jump into the season no help needed. But anyways heading out to this farm in south Jersey has become one of life’s most simple pleasures. The attractions are interesting, the actors do a great job, and it’s always kind of fun going back and doing the whole thing again the following year ’cause frankly after a whole year has gone by one forgets the surprises that the attractions hold. One thing to note this year is the addition of their Zombie hunt paintball ride. Personally this was a pretty weak ride. There weren’t enough zombie actors, even though we went on one of the busiest day of the season, and one side of the ride seemed to have the better props (including a fireball explosion). There’s so much potential to this particular ride that has yet to be explored and I look forward to what they’re going to do with it.
Now there are four main attractions to this place. I’ve tried all four and have generally been pleased with all but one of them. The Dementia 3D house is the weakest in my opinion. They provide patrons with flimsy «3D» glasses that are practically ripped apart after hundreds of people finish using them. The Unknown Barn is what you would expect of a haunted house. There are lots of blood and scary scenes and SPOILER ALERT: times where you go through a pitch black room with the fog machine on overdrive and another section where you actually feel like a baby coming out of your mommy’s you-​know-​what! The actors are pretty good at popping up at the right time as well. The Killer Kornfield is a long, at least 30 minutes worth of your time, attraction that takes you through a whole corn maze. It’s a good time getting lost in there. And finally the haunted hayride is pretty fun as long as the people around you are into it. The actors jump on and try to scare everyone but sometimes it just gets obnoxious. But when you have funny as hell friends it’s worth the time.
And speaking of time my advice would be to visit this place very early in the season. I visited one time the weekend before Halloween and I wish I’d bought the VIP tickets. The lines for each attraction were ridiculous! I mean seriously ridiculous. The wait for the Kornfield was close to 3 hours!!! I almost turned into a zombie waiting. So words of advice either come on a less than busy day or fork over some extra dough so you don’t have to wait in line. Trust me on this one it’s worth the money especially if there’s ten thousand souls there. To sum up it’s a great Halloween themed attraction where you do get your money’s worth but just make sure you plan ahead to keep the fun going, without all the waiting.

We went here last night and really enjoyed ourselves. I’ve been on other hayrides and gone in other corn mazes, so in comparison of my past experiences, I can say that while the hayride was entertaining, it definitely wasn’t scary. Some of the «actors» who got on the ride were really out of character as they were laughing and cracking jokes the whole time. I believe this took away from the experience. The other actors who were in the field were great and really in character which helped.
The Killer Kornmaze was great! Boy, it was involved and intense. I was actually scared at certain points. It was the best corn maze that I’ve been to. Definitely got our money’s worth.
The DJ area with the dance floor and the food trucks really made for a nice touch. The fried Oreos and hot apple cider were tasty.
Will return for the corn maze, for sure.

I LOVE Halloween! I love the demons, the zombies, the overall creepiness of the holiday (hell it is the ONLY Pagan holiday that is celebrated to such a large extent). I have been to Pennhurst Asylum 3 times (a true FIVE star place), Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary (a solid 4 star event) The Bates Motel (3.5 stars) and figured that I was going to FINALLY stay in NJ and visit this highly rated Halloween destination. What I learned from this event is that when it comes to true horror and entertainment that New Jersey is not even close to Pennsylvania for true haunted experience/​attraction.
So having been to many of these attractions before i bought the VIP tickets for all four events for $ 65 (well worth the extra $ 15 dollars) and it WELL WORTH the extra cash. The normal lines were at LEAST 2 – 3 hours for EACH of the four attractions on a Saturday night. VIP ticket lines…5−15 minutes. If you do (make the mistake) and go make SURE to buy the VIP tickets. For a few bucks more it is well worth it.
First we hit the Dementia 3D House of Terror. No wait, was able to go right in with our VIP tickets. The 3D WAS cool and by wearing the glasses it really was intense looking at everything. Scare factor you ask? I would give it only 2 ghouls out of a possible 5. It seemed like it was room after empty room where there were no actors. I think that we saw maybe 10 actors in the whole attraction. Overall I was disappointed but I figured we have 3 more things to do and that it could only get better, right?
Next up was The Unknown Barn. It took 15 minutes to get in. I would say that there were maybe about 20 actors/​ghouls as we went through. It was definitely better than the first attraction. There were a couple of rooms all fogged out where you could not see a thing. If not seeing anything is scary for you then you may enjoy that but I just felt like I was in one of my (well way back in the day) frat brothers rooms where we smoked alot and you could barely see. Well, that smoke was more enjoyable than THIS but I will digress. I would say that this got 2 and a half zombies out of a possible five.
Next up was the Killer Kornfield. I will say that I liked the fact that it was a long walk. The thing that I disliked about this attraction was that IT WAS A VERY LONG WALK!!! You are pretty much just walking long stretches of time before you come to a little «atttraction» that you walk through (a haunted boat or haunted bus or haunted bridge, etc). I think that scariest thing of this attraction was that I did not know if it would ever end! I would give this one frowning Frankenstein out of a possible five
We finished the night with the Haunted Hayride. All I can say is that it was «eh». Lots of actors running up and jumping on the moving hayride trying to scare you. It was a long hayride but I would rather have had it shorter and more intense. All in all I give this two evil clowns out of a possible 5.
Here is the deal with this… nothing is REALLY horrible but nothing is great and barely even good. The best hayride is at Jason’s Woods in Lancaster PA or even the Bates Motel in PA. They have ELABORATE sets and «creatures» that roam their woods. Same goes for the walk through attractions. Jasons Woods, Eastern State Pennitentary and Pennhurst Asylum all put The Unknown Barn, Dementia House and Korny Kornmaze of Field of Terror to shame. If this is your ONLY options then do it but I would sooner drive 1 – 3 hours to go somewhere that is TRULY amazing/​heart-​pounding/​scary
I love New Jersey but our «featured» Halloween attraction left me feeling like a «Hallo-​weenie» for going :(!!!

Went here on Saturday night (weekend before Halloween) with thr family and we had a really good time. (Not FANTASTIC, but really good.) We like Halloween and have gone to many attractions around the area over the years, such as The Bates Motel, Eastern State Penitentiary and a few across Long zisland. The Corn Maze here was definitely my favorite of all of the ones that I had been too, as it is super long and interactive. That said, the Hay Ride was a bit of a disappointment, particularly when compared to the one at Bates. The one at Bates was run like a well oiled machine, with a tractor pulling out every few minutes. Additionally, the they had great monsters and visual effects along the ride. FoT just wasn’t on the same level.
Some tips: purchase your tickets online… get there early and spring for the VIP passes. We got there around 7, walked right up to the booth that processed the online tickets to get our coins and VIP bracelets and walked right to the front of every line for every attraction. As we were finishing up for the night, around 9ish, the place was insanely crowded. Even the VIP lines were long.
FoT does a great job keeping things moving (except on the Hay Ride) and everything is organized well. The only thing they were missing, IMO, was a stand selling hot chocolate, apple cider and apple cider donuts, as these are fall farm staples. Otherwise, it’s a really good, fun Halloween attraction and worth the money and time.

I’ve heard of this place a few times but never went because I am too hipster to be doing things everyone else is talking about doing. Like that Penitentiary in Philly… how scary can that be with those many people going?
Anyway, I went with my brother and sister and we did the double pass. For $ 40, you can do 4 attractions and for $ 25 more, Zombie Paintball. I don’t think those prices are bad at all and next year I plan on doing everything.
We got there about 30 minutes before the place opened. Waited 5 minutes on the ticket redemption line and grabbed tokens for the Cornmaze and Dementia 3D.
There must have been about 20 people in front of us which, for showing up only 30 minutes early, was not bad at all.
They didn’t let us in until 7:20 PM though which… doors at 7? Show at 7:30? Is that how this works?
The Cornmaze was HUGE. We were in there for a good 30 minutes.
My brother kept doing Undertaker impressions and my sister screamed A LOT.
I can’t say much without spoiling things for you.
After that, we went to Dementia 3D at around 8:08. Took about 5 minutes to get into that.
There were long lines for the Hayride, so I guess if you wanna do that on a Saturday, get there a little earlier than we did.
But yeah, everything in this attraction definitely popped out with the glasses on. When we ran out of there, my sister made a left and I felt like we were in the faculty lounge or something because a bunch of actors were smoking and on their phones. They told us we went the wrong way lol
But yeah, I would definitely go again. Wasn’t really scary, but if you want to do something Halloweeny, this isn’t a bad option.
If you want to go when it’s later, I suggest getting there early, getting on line and letting people cut you or something.
Also, fried oreos = good.

Came here and had a blast! My friends and I decided to purchase the double VIP package ($ 50). Definitely worth it, especially because the place was packed on a Saturday evening. The Killer Kornfield is awesome. My friends and I were too busy getting scared and screaming that we didn’t realize how huge this cornfield was. It’s literally a workout so be sure to wear sneakers and clothes you can move it (not the place to be cute).
We got on the hayride but it wasn’t as scary as the Killer Kornfield. Fun for groups!

Worth the 1.5 hour drive! I’ve been here 2 times now. First time was a few years ago with some of my friends and we did 3 out of 4 of the attractions (each attraction is $ 10. If you get the VIP admission — it will cost more). I remember having a great time back then so when I saw a LivingSocial deal for FoT this year, I had to get it because it was half off and I wanted to bring my younger cousins.
I mean seriously, whats funnier than having your younger cousins scream and being scared to death?! Haha. Even if I don’t get scared, it would be so entertaining to watch them be scared and man I was right, they were so scared! Lol.
They did some nice upgrades since I last came here especially with the props. The actors here are great too. I thought the haunted hayride was much better this time — especially with the revolving tunnel! A few years ago, they only had the revolving tunnel in the Unknown Barn attraction — but now its also at the hayride attraction which is such a great addition especially when you’re on the truck! It’s just an overall different experience than walking through the revolving tunnel at the barn. To be honest, I just want to stay in the revolving tunnels forever — it’s so trippy!
The haunted hayride is approximately 15 minutes, Killer Kornfield cornmaze is about a 30 minute walk (I believe its the largest one in NJ), the Unknown Barn and Dementia 3D haunted house were about another 15 minutes each. Dementia 3D was the only one I didn’t do the first time I came to Field of Terror. Although I felt that Dementia 3D was the least scariest, it definitely had the best visuals. The only complaint I have with the Dementia 3D haunted house was the paper glasses that were provided. They were super flimsy and because of that, I found it really difficult for it to stay on my face. I actually had to hold the glasses the entire time to make sure it didn’t fall off. Unfortunately, the Michael Jackson actor this time was MIA from the cornmaze, I remember that being one of the scariest parts of my first experience here. The actor back then was so on point on being MJ and as much as I love MJ’s music, there is nothing scarier than a MJ costume, lol!
I’m not sure if Field of Terror has gotten more popular over the years but it was way more crowded this time. We went on the hayride first, the cornmaze second and I was getting a bit worried that we wouldn’t be able to finish all 4 attractions that I had bought tickets for since it closes at 10PM. FoT opens at 7PM and we were there when it first opened but it was already 9PM when we started the cornmaze, So I asked a staff member and she told me not to worry because they actually don’t close at 10PM, they just stop selling tickets at 10PM. Whew! Good to know. After the cornmaze, we went to the Unknown Barn, there was a line for that but it was no where near as bad as the hayride and cornmaze. By the time we got the the Dementia 3D haunted house, it was already past 10PM and there was no line :) I came on a Sunday night, maybe weekend nights are just busier? I remember coming on a weekday a few years ago and it was not that busy.
Oh and in case you were wondering, they do sell some food here (funnel cakes, hot dogs, fries, deep fried oreos, snacks and etc). I never ate anything here so this review is just based on the attractions. Also, if you wanted to make it a day trip — I also came here for pumpkin picking before doing the FoT attractions during my first visit. During my most recent visit, there was a live DJ here and a fire pit in case you get too cold.
I highly recommend this attraction. Their production is impressive — definitely one of the best I’ve seen so far at least in NJ. What are you waiting for? Do yourself a favor and come here!

I always do all the attractions they have so I will go through each of them.
Zombie Paintball — This was a first for this year and could have been a lot better. I probably wouldn’t do this again unless they change it. The «zombies» are real people but they just kinda stand there and let you shoot them. I think they should have scared you more and tried to come on to the hayride. his would probably get 1 out of 5.
Hayride — The hayride is always a good one. probably 4 out of 5 as I haven’t found one that could beat Headless Horseman. They do scare you though and come on to the hayride and sit down next to you. At one point there were about three creatures on our hayride so you didn’t know which way to look which was great.
The Barn — This was a good one with some new changes to it. At one point you have to crawl through a tunnel which I found awesome instead of always having to just walk through. It would have been good if there was a spot where someone could scare you while crawling though. But still all together I give it 4 out of 5.
Dementia 3D — This one gets 5 out of 5 because they actually scared me. One thing you need to know is they have fog rooms where you CANNOT see. That’s where I got scared. There was an alien who pointed telling me which way to go but instead I was separated from my group and didn’t know where to go. I could hear them when I called there name but I couldn’t find them. At one point there is a floor that moves which is pretty fun but CAN be dangerous as my brother fell, which we all laughed off. They did however stop and ask if he was okay and he said yes.
Haunted Cornmaze — 5 out of 5 without a doubt! If you do anything it has to be this. Just know it can be a little dangerous. Since it’s so dark you will find yourself tripping sometimes or not noticing a step but it makes it that much better. If this were real and you were in the middle of the woods you probably wouldn’t be able to see every step so I liked it. I don’t want to give too much away but just know this one is a definitely MUST DO!
** They also have food there like hot dogs, fries, cheese steaks, deep fried oreos, funnel cakes as well as music and snacks. Since you don’t have specific times for the attractions you can stop and relax at any point and then continue later. They also have a huge fire with logs to sit around as well. It’s a great night.

I was here a few years ago and it was amazing! The barn was decent… the hayride was great… but the maze was the best!!! It’s the biggest haunted corn field in New Jersey… you go through it and theres random creatures/​monsters try to jump and scary the crap out of you… omg i was so scared!!! people was scaring you left and right for quite a while… it’s fun and scary the whole time… I didn’t know really how to feel half the time but I did really enjoy every moment of it… it was extremely cold when I went… Shriving and sitting by the fire… Yes there is a fire pit… A few seats around the fire pit to stay warm and cozy. There’s a few food stands… got a funnel cake and italian sausage… Everything was yummy… there is a large array of themes and costumes as you go through each part of the hunted attractions… Definitely go do it!
