If you love good Sushi … You’ll love this place. Their sushi chefs make some of the best I have ever had. Presentation, taste … everything. You can tell this is a great place by the way the customers interact with the chefs and the rest of the staff. You will most certainly not be disappointed.

I figured I would give this place another chance to step up their game but to no avail it fell epically. It’s a shame bc it gets a decent amount of walk thru traffic. First off staff are condescending and rude. The waitress seemed to be mad bc I was taking too long to decide what I wanted, she came over like 4 to 5 times. I ordered a lunch special of sushi and sashimi and one special roll(wasn’t that special). When I was looking to see if I wanted an appetizer she said did u want anything else? I said no and she in turn said you ordered alot of food anyway?! Wth!!! I should’ve walked out then and there and went to vegetarian indian place next door. They probably would’ve been nicer. My soup and salad were decent. Okay sushi n sashimi every piece of fish except shrimp had discoloration, I normally don’t use soy sauce n Wasabi inless the fish is really really horrible hence I used my entire piece of Wasabi and then some. The fish tasted like they scraped it off bottom of fish tank. Being I was really hungry sadly I ate it. The roll was okay, it didn’t make me gag but don’t even remember the name of it to tell you the truth so it wasn’t that memorable. Lobster something or other. I will stand by never going here again. not worth the stomach ache I had later or being rude too. Next time I will try other place next door.

This place is nothing but average. The prices are fair and the fish is decent, but far from great. I moved to Mercer County from North Jersey and have yet to find a sushi place that knocks me off my feet. Nothing compares to Blossom in Mt. Arlington! Anyway, I ordered take out on a Thursday night. I had small portions of salmon in my roll and the yellow tail had a slightly fishy taste. Perhaps it was the end of their stock before the weekend. I’m not sure. I honestly don’t know what all the rage is about. I’ve been to Mahzu many times, which people seem to dislike, and feel their quality of fish is much better. To each their own, I suppose.

Nothing special. Miso soup was standard. Other things were kindof off. Inside is decent for a strip mall place. There aren’t many sushi spots around so I guess it’s ok.

okay I know I five star a lot of places, but when it comes to Sushi King — this is a solid 5 stars and I wish I could give them more. They’re always super attentive, service is fast and the food is great quality. You HAVETOTRY the steamed pork buns, they will change your life. Also, we do 4 rolls and let the chef choose — you can’t go wrong he’s excellent and pairs all the rolls nicely. Recently we also had naruto — definitely a must have at the end of your meal with the spicy mayo. We’ve gone in with only 30 mintues left before they close and we’ve gone in almost as soon as they openned and never had a problem or have them be nasty to us. Great staff/owners– clean restaurant and tons of parking. BYOB.

We had dinner here with our two young children. The food service was prompt and the waitstaff extremely attentive. The food was delicious, especially the Mexican Roll and the stir fried noodles. Highly recommended!

We have been going here since it opened. Don’t let it’s cheesy name or strip mall location fool you — as the food is top notch. The shumai in the box dinner are heavenly, and melt in your mouth. The chirashi is equally wonderful with a wonderful selection of fresh fish. Their sushi is also quite tasty. The tempura udon noodle soup is a winter staple for us. While there may be sushi restaurants that are fancier or offer a wider selection. Sushi King never disappoints, and is a great value.

I believe Sushi King is one of the two sushi restaurants in East Windsor. Personally, I love sushi and have been to countless spots sushi spots in NJ, NYC and in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Sushi King offers beautifully oriented sushi rolls and other lovely garnished Japanese dishes, but the taste and quality of the food are only mediocre/average. For its location and price, it’s not bad, but I would travel farther for better sushi. This is not a bad spot for a quick fix.

What a great surprise. Neither the name nor the location were exactly confidence-building. But I trusted the Unilocal reviews I read and went for it. Very, very glad I did. Excellent experience. It was a quiet Wednesday night; I was in Princeton on business. Unilocaled around looking for good sushi out near the Starplex cinemas. Sushi King rose to the top, and for good reason. I started with the miso soup, had the avocado salad, and then two roles: dragon in the mist and the triple trouble roll. Oh — and a cup of green tea. Everything was perfect. The service was good too. They didn’t hover, but were there when I needed them. They kept my water glass full, and warmed up my tea without my asking. The price? No more or less than typical(though I’m always surprised how quickly the bill adds up in a sushi restaurant!) Absolutely recommend it. I’ll certainly be back.

This is our go to spot for sushi and Japanese food in the area. We usually do takeout since it is a little on the expensive side so we save a little money by not ordering drinks and having to pay a tip. The sushi is excellent and we enjoy the miso soup and salad. Some of the hot Japanese food is a little hit or miss. The people at the cash register are nice and usually get things right.

Sushi King is one of the few sushi places around this area. We came here for dinner. The restaurant is located in a huge plaza, so there is tons of parking. The store front looked tiny, but the inside of the restaurant was decent. There were at least 10 tables of four. The restaurant was empty when we arrived at 8:15pm, though. Although the restaurant is water themed, I thought the blue lighting made the interior seem darker than it needed to be. I ordered the chirashi dinner, which is what I generally order at a-la-carte sushi restaurants. It came with a miso soup and a salad. The soup was decent. The rice on the chirashi was seasoned well. For the most part, the sashimi was good but I thought that there were several pieces that were kind of wet/slimy than I like. Overall the food was decent and the service was really good.

We go to Sushi King quite often. I’m a huge fan of their fresh mango tropical rolls. I recently tried their medallion rolls and those didn’t disappoint either! This place is randomly hidden inside the windsor shopping center and is a fantastic alternative to the disappointing over-hyped Smashburger or the gross Burger King that clouds the sky with a smokestack of poison on the corner! Do yourself a favor and try it out :)

At the recommendation of a fellow Unilocaler, I tried Sushi King tonight with my wife and daughter. The place was calm, mostly take out, steady stream of orders for the 90 minutes we were there. No mind you, the weather absolutely SUCKED today in NJ. It was high 20’s and sleet.YUCK. The restaurant is cozy and has an intimate feeling, if they dimmed the lights they could raise the prices $ 5 a roll easily. That said, I wouldn’t come here with a large party. We enjoyed both Miso and Clear soup, both excellent. For dinner we had four sushi roles with brown rice: Triple Trouble, Tropical, Summer, and Atlantis. This is a BYOB, so I enjoyed some Pinot Noir with my wife, my daughter the tea — which she stated was good(read 3 stars). For desert, green tea for the ladies, and Tuna and Salmon Sashimi for me. Overall the food tasted excellent. It’s been a long time since I’ve met a sushi restaurant as creative and flavorful as Sushi King — and how it tastes is 80% — hence four stars. The roles were a nice size, nothing you’d toss overboard chumming for shark, one bite — something more restaurants need to understand. What disappointed me was the presentation. For smaller roles, they didn’t stay together consistently, so you felt like some fool stabbing sushi while holding chopsticks the first time in your life. Not sure why, this is a new experience for rice roles. Normal for no rice roles wrapped in cucumber… Looking forward to coming back here, really did enjoy it and almost feeling bad about the four stars, but I gotta tell it like it is.

A very casual and laid back sushi joint. It’s delicious, fresh and priced fairly. The service is above average, but not in a good way — hence the 4⁄5 stars. They are so fast and eager to serve that it is almost impossible to have a relaxing meal. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed, even during a Friday or Saturday night, more than 30 minutes. You get the feeling that just want you in and out as quickly as possible… Still; great for when you want a quick and delicious Japanese meal, just not meant for a relaxing, date-like atmosphere.

Came here after a couple of friends told me they enjoyed the place. Being picky about sushi and having specific places I generally go for it I was skeptical, but I was looking for some place a little closer so we tried it out. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There is a nice selection of sushi and special rolls so it would meet the tastes of all different sushi lovers. I only tried one appetizer, the vegetable dumplings, and I did not enjoy them as much as the sushi. They were very soft and fell apart as we tried to pick them up and were lacking in the flavor department, but this was the only part of my meal that I didn’t enjoy. It should also be noted that I was dining with a friend who is vegan and asked for some special rolls to be made that for her dietary needs and, not only did they comply, they didn’t price gouge in the process. I’ll definitely be going back.

Sushi is such a difficult subject for some to gage considering so many follow«the trend» and cannot decipher good sushi from Shop Rite sushi. What I can tell you is, this place is a hidden treasure. Food: Most sushi restaurants don’t have«Wow» menus. You’ll have the basics from sushi down to kitchen good i.e. chicken and beef. If you are a sashimi fan, the fish are always fresh and reasonably priced. Also be sure to ask for the catch of the day. They sometimes receive catches that they serve for only that day. Be sure to try special rolls or the rolls on the board. If you aren’t too sure and really want to test them, just say«hey I’m not too sure but I like X, Y, Z and dislike X, Y, Z.» You will not be disappointed. Staff: I have been attending Sushi King for well over 5 years, earning the title *my favorite sushi joint* with ease. The staff is family oriented and are extremely friendly and welcoming. They are very generous and are never stingy with food or feedback about something you may not like. After becoming a regular they offered to sell me chopsticks which they hold for me personally within the restaurant until I return. If you’re feeling social you should sit at the bar. Unlike many restaurants each chef will converse with customers keeping them engaged and entertained with their histerical personalities. This is a spot you’d drive pass any day and miss it, but I assure you, you cannot go wrong exploring the realm of sushi here.

Located in a strip mall off Route 130, South Sushi King may look like an ordinary sushi joint. Well, the sushi is anything but ordinary. in fact it is extraordinary! I have been here countless times brining friends and family and everyone agrees that the sushi is top notch. I have had probably every roll(that doesn’t include fried fish or tempura) on the menu and they are delish. My favorite rolls include the Rutgers, Triple Trouble, Tropical, Princeton, Johnny and Valentine Roll. Don’t worry. I have never eaten these rolls all in one sitting! Some of my favorite apps are steamed edamame and the New York salad. I have noticed that over the years the salad portion is smaller but it’s still worth ordering. The service is great. I am always seated quickly and the apps and rolls come out right away. The same servers(family owned I am assuming) are there and they are always friendly and recognize me whether I am there to sit and dine or takeout. There are some seats available at the sushi bar and you can watch the chef make your sushi. It’s also great if you have questions because he is very friendly and willing to talk to diners. Thanks Linda M. for introducing me to Sushi King! I’m hooked :)
