The baked array of snacks here is pretty good, if fairly over-priced and sometimes a bit dry for my taste, but every time I’ve come here I’ve felt a little put off by the counter staff. There’s a mixture of apathy and lack of knowledge that has led ech experience to be frustrating and uncomfortable. I’ll ask for help choosing something to bring to a meeting or brunch or will ask details about an item, and I feel like the person on the other side of the counter would rather be doing anything but help me. I’ve also seen them snark pretentiously at someone asking for flavored syrup for their coffee(it’s not an uncommon thing– wood star has organic, natural syrups!) and they’ve consistently been low on most breads or baked goods when I’ve been. Maybe I just keeping getting the wrong couple of people– I’d rather drive a little further for my expensive pastry and get it without the eye rolls and heavy sighs

The best bakery that I’ve ever been to! Always delicious and incredibly fresh! The service makes Small Oven even better, so welcoming and friendly. There was a time that I needed a cookie platter for my companies holiday party and Julie really helped me out. She gave us an incredible variety of delicious desserts, including amazing gluten free treats that were to die for. She was so generous and just down right amazing. And the bread. best in the valley! You can taste the quality, attention and love that goes into it. My espresso drink was incredible. The atmosphere was so comfortable that my friend and I stayed and chatted for much longer than I anticipated, so I bought a coffee. It was only a few bucks, well worth it! I didn’t expect anything for free, but they happily offered a refill! I’ll continue to return time and time again, great experience and great people at Small Oven! Thank you, Julie and Amanda!

Absolutely ‘the best’… Breads are incredible, food is fresh, coffee is delicious, service is friendly and personal… Could not be any better… My wife and I go out of our way to eat there whenever possible. If in the area you owe it to your self to go there for coffee, bread or a full meal.

I love these ladies. They are amazing wonderful incredibly hard working people. Their bread is some of the best in the valley, and honestly this is the level that Easthampton needs to aspire to(along with Captain Jack’s and Coco). I’m giving them five stars because it is some of the best in the area, if not THE best in the Valley for what they do, and they’re some of the nicest people I’ve met — fantastic business owners that know how to make clients happy and welcome. That being said, I was raised by a baker and I can see some of the limitations to their«petit four» cooking methods(they literally only have an oven and small portable induction burner, so it limits their offerings). For example, I’ve never been a fan of their quiche because they cook it fully, then when they warm it up again(in their oven) it gets burned. They do an amazing breakfast sandwich, but it often sells out. Also, they make a cortado, for $ 2, which is awesome. Visit them, get there early, and get the breakfast sandwich. They’ll probably know your name by the next time you come in.

Our Christmas quiche from Small Oven was custard-like with a flakey crust — delicious! On an any/everyday, scones, almond croissants, cupcakes are super & the baguettes on Saturday AM — unreal.

I’m a recently transplant to the valley — finding a home in Easthampton specifically. I’ve made an effort to frequent the local businesses and Small Oven has become the one I frequent most. The coffee is good. The people are nice. The yogurt — sandwiches — croissants — Tuesday’s Vermont Cheddar loafs(best thing served IMO) — egg sandwiches = all yummy. I was not impressed with the egg basket nor the sticky buns, but those two disappointments do not sway my 5 star opinion.

What a great spot in Easthampton if you’re looking for lunch. First, the counter service is very friendly and helpful. On my visits there has been a bit of a line for the weekend lunch crowd, and on each occasion the staff moved through the line quickly but without losing their friendliness. The food is quite good as well. Tasty sandwiches on delicious bread, and really good desserts. The croissants were impossibly light, and the other pastries I tried were also quite good. Overall, Small Oven is definitely recommended for lunch or a sweet snack.

If my life mate weren’t vegan I’d be here all the time. This morning I had their egg sandwich. 5.50 for two eggs with cheese and a bit of light salad and aoli… And here’s the kicker: this is served on a preposterously good croissant. Like, the kind of croissant you shouldn’t be able to get in the United States. And the rest of the sandwich doesn’t let this croissant down: the eggs are light and fluffy, the Aoli creamy and delicious. Later I came back for lunch and had a slice of terrific brioche with brittle almond topping and filled with delicious thick cream. This was also about 5.50. The sandwiches get close to 10 bucks which I find a little steep but it seems the bakery prices are extremely modest for excellent quality. Will be back!

I’ve been to Easthampton a handful of times and always missed out on this place. Well today was my lucky day! Super pleasant and friendly counter service. The sense of community in this quaint town is what keeps drawing me back. One of the best almond croissants. So light, so flaky, so melt in your mouth. Paired with a cup of tasty apple cider(available hot or cold) makes it a combo that can’t be beat. I’ll gladly come back here and recommend this highly from a gal who’s grandfather owned a bakery. I consider myself the ultimate bakery snob and this place def impressed me!

Stopped for lunch last month, great salads, sandwiches, and pastry. The owner and staff were most pleasant and accommodating. This will become my go– to place whenever I visit Easthampton.

Love small oven! It is little and cute. I always get the toast with their homemade jams and butters. They have great coffee, and great flourless chocolate cake! Me and my mother go on dates here all the time and never have a bad experience. The owners are always there working hard and very nice. One time I locked my keys in my car and while waiting for AAA they let me buy a coffee for my wait with my card even though it was way below their minimum.

I’m so glad to have such a great find right around the corner. I love the creativity and the quality of the food here. Love that the place is «small» in every way. Julie and Amanda and all the staff here always greeting people, having conversations. Haven’t been disappointed once by the food(and I am willing to try anything here). And the espresso’s not bad either!

I was raised by a baker, so most of the baked goods I eat make me think they either came from factories, or uninterested amateurs. Small Oven’s stuff tastes like actual food, made with actual ingredients. Flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, cinnamon. They put a lot of effort into both the baked goods and the lunch menu, and it shows. This is a wonderful place for Easthampton to have. It’s small, but it’s also a home grown operation, not a chain or a place that gets their stuff delivered from a «bakery» factory fifty miles away every morning. As for the people that complain about the sticky buns(or whatever other authentic thing that they’re not used to): I am reminded of children raised on fish sticks and frozen fries that poutily push away their first order of real Fish and Chips. The sticky buns aren’t puffy dough filled with cinnamon-flavored goop, they’re croissant dough with sugar and cinnamon. It’s *actual food*, which I know is startling for some people, but if they don’t like it, there’s a drive through on the way out of town that will happily serve them burnt coffee and a breakfast that will never rot because it’s mostly fillers and preservatives anyway.

The Owner’s are very accommodating. I had a last minute cook out with Family and Friends. I called the day before and explained that I needed cupcakes and another hand held dessert for 15 People. They suggested small Lemon Curd Tarts. WOW… absolutely beautiful presentation with the most delicious lemon curd in a flaky superb crust!!! The«buzz» from the crowd was…“absolutely delicious.” The Cupcakes were equally delicious. The rich flavorful moist cake with a buttercream frosting were compared to cupcakes from another Bakery… No Contest!!! Also picked up flaky perfect croissant for breakfast and Egg in brioche with Calamata olives. Fantastic. Everything in the case looked«mouthwatering» good. Thankfully Small Oven is here! BTW… Fresh Baked Bread daily. THANKYOUJULIEANDAMANDA.

Another pit stop while in Easthampton … everything looked great but wasn’t! The sticky bins were the worst ever … I know. someone out there is thinking W-H-A-T ?? … sorry that was OUR experience. They were DRY and the bottom was burnt as in had black marks … we took a bit and they ended up in the can. No something that is normal for me to do to a sticky bun! Maybe an off experience, ?? but the person behind the counter should have known they were not lookin’ good that day! We got one sandwich, a special of the day and it was very good but took forever to make. a ridiculous amount of time… Staff wasn’t very friendly… the space is sweet and the baked goods look awesome but we were disappointed.

I love the pastries here at Small Oven. And the awesome counterhelp. Everyone is so nice, and knowledgeable. Ok, so let’s break it down: The good: The people all seem awesome. The food is SO fresh. The beverages are decent quality. The Bad: It’s a small location. Go early, or what you want is going to be out. It’s kinda hella hipster. The case is oftentimes poorly labelled. The Middle: I’m not a HUGE fan of the texture of their quiche. It’s VERY soft.(Which was great after I had teeth work done.) but if you(like me) prefer to have your eggstuffs sort of firm… Well, you won’t find that here. That said, the flavors are really good. My kids have told me firmly that they’re not fans of this place(Even tho they LOVE the sweet baked goods) My kids are a little picky and on the kid end of the spectrum, but not obnoxiously so.(They’ll try just about anything. They may not like it, but I give them props for trying it.) They were decidedly not fans of the quiche.(Even the one with bacon in it, and they LOVE bacon.) I go there mostly for lovely baked goods. I haven’t gotten a loaf of bread there yet, but it all looks delicious.

Great place to hang out and I’m convinced it’s the best cappuccino in town. Service used to be less friendly — much better now. Great atmosphere, I definitely would jump at the opportunity to go back :)
